00:10the number of civil lawsuits filed by injured victims or the families of those killed accusing
00:15Travis Scott, Live Nation, Scoremore and other organizers of negligence reached nearly 50 by
00:21the morning of November 10th. Experts tell Billboard the litigation over the deadly event
00:27could ultimately see hundreds of individual claims and that potential damages or settlements
00:32could reach hundreds of millions of dollars. Meanwhile, theories have emerged suggesting
00:36the opioid fentanyl may have also played a role in the mayhem. In a November 6th press conference,
00:42Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said a security officer at the festival was pricked in the neck
00:47with a needle by an unknown person, went unconscious and was revived with Narcan, used for the treatment
00:53of an opioid overdose emergency, although authorities have yet to confirm what the needle contained.
00:58Billboard can confirm, however, the FBI has offered to join the criminal investigation into
01:03the circumstances, but a spokesperson for the Houston Police Department declined to offer any update on
01:08the status of the probe. In a statement, Live Nation said it would continue to support and assist
01:13local authorities in their ongoing investigation so that both the fans who attended and their families
01:18can get the answers they want and deserve and we will address all legal matters at the appropriate time.
