00:16This is the philosophy that has guided Italy through the lens of the Matei Plan for Africa.

00:23It is a new way of looking at the African continent not as a problem

00:27but rather as an opportunity, not lecturing from top to bottom but with respect.

00:35And this is an initiative that is already bold in 14 African nations

00:39and a number we intend to increase every year

00:42and that can count on well-built synergies with the African Union,

00:47the United Nations, the international financial institutions

00:50and the European Union with the Global Gateway.

00:53The results it is producing are facts

00:57I'm thinking of the Rubito Corridor between Angola and Zambia

01:01to connect and bring prosperity to regions that are currently isolated

01:06and which we are contributing in an important way.

01:11I am thinking of the opening in Rome of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development

01:15which will involve hundreds of African startups

01:19in the development of artificial intelligence.

01:22I am thinking of the use of waste water

01:24in the ambitious TANIC project in Tunisia

01:30for the recovery of unproductive plants.

01:34I mean, the priorities in which we are investing

01:37are shared with African nations and our real health,

01:42agriculture, water infrastructure

01:43and moreover training

01:45because nothing can be done without valuing human capital.
