Gypsy Rose Blanchard is opening up about life after prison and her new Lifetime docuseries. Over the course of 18 months, Blanchard was interviewed in prison for the documentary project titled 'The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard' that features several new revelations about her that will surprise viewers.

00:00I started to feel like it was either her or me.

00:05Gypsy Rose Blanchard says she's finally, quote,

00:08emotionally ready to tell her truth in her new Lifetime docu-series.

00:12Over the course of 18 months, Blanchard was interviewed in prison

00:15for the documentary project titled The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard

00:19that features several new revelations about her that will surprise viewers.

00:23There's things that I've kept so private.

00:27Ahead of its premiere this Friday,

00:28Blanchard spoke to The Hollywood Reporter

00:30about why she wanted to open up in such a candid way

00:32and what she's been doing since her release.

00:35The documentary project sees Blanchard share information

00:37that nobody previously knew, including her own family.

00:41When asked why she decided to open up now, she told THR,

00:44I think the biggest reason why I held back all this time

00:46and am kind of coming forward now

00:48is because I just wasn't emotionally ready at the time.

00:51There are a lot of things to unpack in my life,

00:53more than just with my mother.

00:54And so I think at the time of doing my previous interviews,

00:57everything was so surrounded around my mother and I.

00:59So I think now I'm coming to a place where I could be more confident

01:02to open up a little bit more

01:03and feel like I'm in a safe space enough to open up.

01:06She never wanted me to find love or be happy.

01:10I'm screaming.

01:11She also revealed how life has been since she was released on parole.

01:14She said,

01:15Blanchard made headlines when she recently revealed

01:27that she listened to Taylor Swift while she was in prison.

01:29When asked about her favorite song, Blanchard called herself a Swifty and said,

01:33I really like the song Eyes Open

01:35and I'm really digging karma right now.

01:38Karma has been what I've been playing on my playlist a lot.
