00:10Celebrating 10 years in Nashville. Take us back.

00:14Oh my gosh.

00:1510 years ago. A lot different from these fancy lights and the CMAs.

00:20Very different.

00:21Performances, different career. Yeah.

00:23You remember the first gig you did here after getting here?

00:26Yeah, well there were a few. Commodore Grill got a pop-up for that live open mic situation.

00:33Same with the Bluebird, did that.

00:35You know, I honestly played anywhere that I could and just like talked to every songwriter after shows.

00:40But I remember driving down in my little yellow Pontiac, my mom and I.

00:43It was a 24-hour drive and we literally slept in a parking lot.

00:47We did the whole thing and we got here and yeah, it was crazy.

00:51I moved into that little one-bedroom apartment and that was it.

00:55Was mom, I mean obviously our parents and so many artists' parents are so supportive because it's such a daunting task.

01:02Oh yeah.

01:03But was there ever a moment where she was like, honey, are you sure that this is what you want to do?

01:07Um, probably when I was bawling my eyes out at the airport when she was about to fly home and I was like, not okay.

01:12I was not okay. Like I got back to my apartment and I was just like, oh my gosh, I'm like actually really on my own now.

01:19Yeah.

01:20Like this is for real. I'm like have to be an adult kind of thing.

01:22That's a little scary. It's a lot scary.

01:24Yeah.

01:25What was the first cover you would always, you knew you could crush it back 10 years ago.

01:29You're like, let me nail this one and I'm going to get the crowd.

01:32Um, you know, I love a good like throwback like Cowboy Take Me Away, something like that.

01:37You know, it's just, it takes people back and it's a sing along. I love it.
