00:27and is in its second outing, wisely choosing to open the film early overseas in order to avoid a

00:33direct showdown with Paramount's Gladiator 2, which launched internationally this weekend ahead of

01:16international opening in history for Paramount, as well as the biggest foreign launch ever for

01:21director Ridley Scott. The film sees Paul Meskel playing a grown-up Lucius, who returns to Rome

01:26after being forced into slavery to battle not as a ruler, but as a gladiator, out for revenge and power,
