00:00Wolves' new manager Rob Edwards could look to recall Tommy Doyle from his loan spell at
00:06Birmingham City in the January transfer window, sources have suggested. Doyle, who joined Birmingham
00:13from Wolves after just one permanent season at Molyneux, has impressed during his time in the
00:19Championship starting the past four matches as the Blues chase promotion. Edwards is reportedly
00:26a big admirer of the midfielder and sees him as someone who could make an immediate impact
00:31at Wolves. His performances in midfield have showcased his intelligence, composure and passing
00:37ability, qualities that Edwards values highly. While at Birmingham, Doyle has provided consistent
00:44displays, but Blues' ambitions and managerial instability with Chris Davis under pressure
00:50and O'Neill tipped as a potential replacement and context to the possibility of his early
00:56return. Wolves currently struggling at the bottom of the Premier League are planning a transfer
01:02strategy aimed at survival. Edwards may prioritise signing proven Premier League players to stabilise
01:08the squad, with Dwight McNeil and Calvin Phillips both on the radar, while attacking reinforcements
01:14including a striker to support Jorgen Stran Larsson are also being considered. The club's interest in
01:21Troy Parrott, which emerged over the summer, could be reignited given the 23-year-old's recent form.
01:27Doyle's potential return would not only provide Wolves with a reliable midfield option, but also
01:32demonstrate Edwards' intent to shape the squad around players he trusts. The manager values
01:38versatility and tactical intelligence and Doyle fits both criteria. While Birmingham might prefer to
01:45retain him for their promotion push, Wolves' need for stability and quality in midfield could see him
01:51recalled, highlighting the player's importance to Edwards' vision. As Wolves seek to arrest a poor start
01:57and rebuild under new leadership, Doyle's recall would be a clear statement. The manager is willing to act
02:03decisively to strengthen the squad, while also showing faith in a player he clearly believes
02:09can influence results in a challenging Premier League campaign.
