00:01Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty settled Thursday's trading session on a positive note,
00:07extending gains to the second consecutive day on buying in oil and gas and finance shares.
00:13Strong cues from global markets and fresh foreign fund inflows further added to the positive sentiment among investors.
00:20The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 446 points to close at 85,632, while the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 139 points to settle at 26,192.
00:36From the Sensex pack, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj FinServe, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers,
00:44whereas Asian Paints, HCL Tech, Titan, Hindustan Uniliver and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the major losers.
00:53Overall, it was a day of bullishness where Nifty has given the highest ever closing in the history and again closed well about 23,100 mark.
01:03So, it was a fantastic day for the market followed by good buying interest seen in the mid-cap and small-cap stocks as well.
01:10Coming on the technical front, Nifty is having good support around 26,000 mark on the lower side,
01:15while 26,280 to 26,350 will be the next resistance levels where the all-time highs are placed.
01:22On the sectoral front, financial services, capital goods, energy, oil and gas, private sector banks and auto shares led the market momentum,
01:31while consumer durables, telecom, public sector banks, pharma and IT counters remained subdued.
01:37Almost all Asian markets closed in green, including Japan's Nikkei, Seoul's Kospi and Hong Kong's Hang Seng,
01:45while China's Shanghai Composite ended in the red zone.
01:48Markets in Europe were trading in positive territory, even as US markets settled higher on Wednesday.
01:55Foreign institutional investors turned net buyers on Wednesday as they bought equities worth over 1,581 crore rupees.
