00:00Well, a new movie written and directed by a Buffalo native premiered tonight during the Buffalo International Film Festival.
00:05It's called Stationed at Home.
00:07The film is shot in Binghamton with a black and white style done in the spirit of classic movies.
00:12It's described as a slice of small town life on Christmas Eve in 1998,
00:17when a lonely taxi driver's quiet night turns unexpectedly profound thanks to a parade of eccentric passengers.
00:24Stationed at Home, it's also the directing debut for award-winning filmmaker Daniel Machere, who's from Buffalo.
00:33So I got the idea for the film.
00:35I was on a bus traveling from New York to Ithaca, New York, and we stopped in Binghamton.
00:40It was a cold winter night, and essentially I went outside and stretched my legs
00:45and saw this old abandoned building on the train tracks, and it was just so beautiful.
00:50That along with the music and the cold weather, there was just such a mood to the city of Binghamton.
00:57The movie will be available on streaming apps coming up this November 11th.
