00:00Stefanik gains ground on Hochul as New York Governor race titans.
00:04A new Siena University poll shows Representative Elise Stefanik gaining on Governor Kathy Hochul,
00:09narrowing the race for New York Governor.
00:11According to the New York Post, the survey, conducted November 10th to 12th and released Tuesday,
00:17shows Hochul leading Stefanik 52% to 32% in a head-to-head matchup.
00:23Stefanik is gaining ground, strengthening her support among independents and widening her lead among Republicans,
00:28as Siena pollster Steven Greenberg notes,
00:31Hochul still dominates with Democrats 78% to 9%,
00:34but Stefanik now leads Republicans 79% to 11%, up from 68% to 15%,
00:40and has sharply closed the gap with independents to 40% to 36%, from 43% to 25%,
00:47while geographically Hochul holds a 42-point edge in NYC,
00:52but only leads by 9 points in the suburbs and 3 points upstate.
00:55Hochul's favorability dipped 2 points to 43%,
00:59and among change-seeking voters, 30% prefer a Democrat, while 53% lean Republican.
01:06Currently, 42% of voters are prepared to re-elect Hochul,
01:10while 48% would prefer someone else, improved from 37% to 51% in September, Greenberg said.
01:18The survey reached more than 800 registered New York voters and did not include Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman's potential primary bid.
01:27Stefanik's campaign strategist, Alex de Grasse, called the poll biased and said it ignores independent surveys showing the race within the margin of error.
01:35Another false and biased poll that the far-left media laps up while ignoring multiple independent polls,
01:42showing this race within the margin of error once you properly account for likely voters
01:46and proper geographical representation based on historical turnout, he said.
01:50With Stefanik narrowing among independents and Republicans,
01:54New York's general election is poised to be closely watched
01:56and potentially contentious as both sides ramp up their campaigns.
