00:00See, I will quote Shakespeare, who said,
00:07Tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
00:14That is a Shakespearean description of the untrue statement made by the Honorable Member of Parliament.
00:22Searching for arms and ammunition in the Rajpohan is like a blind man searching in the dark, a black cat which is not there.
00:34I have thrown the Rajpohan open for public scrutiny.
00:38From today at 5 a.m. onwards, people are coming in, society, citizens are coming in, media is coming in to see whether there is any arms and ammunition in this Rajpohan.
00:50There are serious implications of this allegation.
00:55Rajpohan is protected or secured, or under the security charge of the Calcutta police.
01:05When a ruling party MP says that arms and ammunition are available inside the Rajpohan,
01:11is he expressing his lack of confidence in the police force of the state?
01:16Does it show any kind of inner party politics?
01:22To say that arms and ammunition have been smuggled into the Rajpohan is to say that the Calcutta police is colliding with that.
01:28This is not what is expected of a ruling party MP.
01:31So, I can only repeat the prayer of Jesus on the cross.
01:38Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
01:42And as far as truth is concerned, you know, Rajpohan should be kept at no-confident zone.
01:49That is why, last midnight, itself I took the decision, Rajpohan will be thrown open for public scrutiny.
01:58It is the confidence of the people which sustains the dignity of the Rajpohan.
02:02I will discharge my duties as governor only within the parameters of the Constitution of India.
02:07When an MP makes a false statement, he is not a single individual.
02:14An MP represents lakhs and lakhs of voters, ordinary people.
02:18So, this is betrayal of the trust and confidence which democracy places in an elected representative.
02:25He has to make amends.
02:26He has the option either to apologize to the public of people of Bengal,
02:31or there are legal options which can be taken against him.
02:34So, this kind of hate speeches cannot be tolerated.
02:43I didn't call.
02:45I quoted Shakespeare.
02:48If the MP wants to criticize Shakespeare, he is welcome to do that.
02:52And what does idiot mean?
02:54See, these are the types of India.
02:56What does India mean?
02:57India means international, democratic, inclusive alliance.
03:01Isn't it?
03:01So, therefore, idiot can also mean incriminatingly, delusive, invective.
03:13Why, the MP, that's also I-D, I-O-T.
03:20Why criticize Shakespeare?
03:22Why call it over words?
03:24After having made a mistake, see, it is to say, act in haste and repent at least.
03:30The MP has acted in haste.
03:32He can repent at least.
03:33Many people, especially the innocent villagers, the innocent housewives, household women,
03:45they are going through the anxiety that after SIR, will they have to go to Bangladesh or they have to keep in detention.
03:53Sir, any message to the people of the West Bengal regarding SIR?
03:57Because many people are going on SIR anxiety, sir.
04:00See, the wisdom of SIR and the public acceptance of SIR has been amply demonstrated in Bihar.
04:11Ultimately, in democracy, it's the people who are to decide.
04:15SIR is a legitimate process for pre- and fair elections in the country.
04:20That is being done.
04:22Of course, there may be some flaws in the conduct of that.
04:27Any political party has got a freedom to raise objections to that.
04:32That is most welcome.
04:33But SIR will certainly be held in a free and fair manner.
04:38There is no need, I repeat, no need for anybody to feel anxiety about this.
04:44Any genuine water will be here.
04:47No manipulation will be allowed.
04:48Truth will come out, as it has come out in Bihar.
04:54But allegations and doubts, criticism, is something which is very much welcome in democracy.
05:00In that manner, certain political parties, their apprehension about SIR is tenable,
05:05which will certainly be addressed in an open manner.
05:08It should be open covenants of peace, openly arrived at that is required in democracy.
