00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about a new electric car from China that's putting a lot of pressure on the established manufacturers.
00:10The Arcux T1 from BA is eye with this model.
00:13The Chinese car manufacturer is launching an exciting compact class vehicle onto the market that clearly positions itself against the VWAD3, but at a price that will make people wonder.
00:23The Arcux T1 is an electric car with a modern design that is characterized by clear lines, flush-mounted elements and eye-catching lighting signatures.
00:36The front features a continuous LED strip that is reminiscent of a typical Tesla look, while the side silhouette with flush-mounted door handles and simple lines almost looks futuristic.
00:47The rear is dominated by striking taillight graphics and a reduced rear design.
00:53Unusual in this price range.
00:57Standard 18-inch alloy wheels and a two-tone paint finish with a black roof give the T1 a high-quality appearance.
01:06With a length of around 4.3 meters, a width of around 1.9 meters, a height of around 1.6 meters and a wheelbase of around 2.8 meters,
01:15the T1 offers extremely generous dimensions for a compact class vehicle.
01:19Even though official information on the trunk is currently lacking, the amount of space, especially in the rear, is likely to be above average.
01:32The Arcux T1 is powered by an electric motor on the rear axle, with two power levels available.
01:37A basic version with around 95 horsepower and a more powerful version with around 130 horsepower.
01:46According to the manufacturer, the top speed is around 140 kilometers per hour.
01:51This is absolutely sufficient for city and country road traffic.
01:55The variety of available battery sizes is particularly exciting.
01:59The entry-level model starts with a lithium-iron phosphate battery with a capacity of around 42 kilowatt hours.
02:06According to the Chinese CLTC cycle, this should enable ranges of up to 425 kilometers.
02:13Larger batteries with around 67 and up to 94 kilowatt hours are also planned.
02:20In the most advanced version, a range of up to 650 kilometers is promised.
02:27Realistically, according to the European BRTP cycle, one would expect between 330 and 500 kilometers.
02:34In terms of price, the ArcFox T1 makes a strong statement.
02:39In China, the entry-level model is equivalent to around 9,200 euros.
02:46Even with an adjusted price level for the European market, the T1 could represent a serious alternative to current compact electric vehicles with a base price of around 15,000 euros to 17,000 euros, especially in view of its equipment and range.
03:00BAIC, the parent company of ArcFox, is one of the largest car manufacturers in China.
03:09Even though the brand has hardly been heard of in Europe, it is no stranger to the industry.
03:16The company is active in the production of vehicles in China, among other things, through its joint venture with Mercedes-Benz, called Beijing-Benz Automotive Kaling, and holds around 10% of the shares in Mercedes-Benz.
03:30The electric brand ArcFox was originally launched for higher-priced models, but now apparently wants to gain a foothold internationally with more affordable vehicles.
03:40Official confirmation of the ArcFox T1's market status in Europe is still pending.
03:47Nevertheless, it is quite possible that BA will increasingly target the European market in the future with attractive prices and well-equipped electric cars like the T1.
03:56So anyone looking for a compact minicar with a modern design, solid technology and promising range at a comparatively low price should definitely keep an eye on this model.
