00:00Welcome to Real Talk, where it gets hot, spicy, and to the drama.
00:25I am Perez Hilton. You might know me as the original influencer, but today I'm taking over Real Talk to interview Evan Brown, who plays Mateo in Real Short's brand new show, The Adjuster.
00:41This is going to be fun.
00:55Welcome. How are you doing?
00:58I'm so excited because I am a virgin to this genre and this concept, and I think some people watching might be as well.
01:07The Adjuster is dramatic. Maybe there's some sexiness. I'm not sure, but how would you describe the actual format?
01:16What is it if people aren't familiar with what Real Short does?
01:20Yeah, I get a lot of questions when I explain this to my friends or family or anyone.
01:25It's its own app, Vertical Style Show, and kind of like TikTok, how it's you swipe up for the next episode, swipe up for the next show.
01:33And it's taking that algorithm and incorporating it into dramatic stories, series.
01:39And then The Adjuster is their first dramatic.
01:42I've done a few previous ones that were very rom-com-y based, very romance, and it was fun to do this one to just sink your teeth into.
01:53Because there weren't too much sexy moments in this one, which I liked for this story.
01:59It's fun when it's, boy next door, love drum, okay, yeah.
02:03But this, I think, it's a very serious tone that didn't need that.
02:08So if somebody doesn't have the Real Short app yet, when they download it, are all the episodes for The Adjuster going to be available at once if they wanted to?
02:17Or are there going to be multiple drops?
02:19How does that work?
02:20Yeah, so you can watch it all the way through.
02:22They collect coins, and so you pay per episode, or you could just pay for the entire thing.
02:26There's ways to watch it for free.
02:28You have to watch some ads.
02:29Oh, I know that.
02:30Yeah, so it's one of those things where you can either pay for the ads to be gone, kind of like Netflix, everything is now, or you can just watch some ads.
02:38I love that.
02:40Options.
02:40Yeah.
02:41Because sometimes you're in a hurry, and you don't want to watch all these ads.
02:45That's true.
02:45I think you get numbers of free episodes per 24 hours.
02:48So you can watch back to back to back.
02:50If you don't binge at all, you just want to take your time, watch it, you can just wait every 24 hours.
02:55So fascinating.
02:56So this particular story, The Adjuster, you play Mateo, I would say it's ripped from the headlines.
03:04It's fictional, but perhaps inspired by real-life events.
03:09It's really fun to tap into this guy, Mateo, who is this guy.
03:14He's an older brother who's forced to take upon this parent-guardian role, and it's a lot.
03:19I mean, he's got strong morals, and he's a loving guy, but he's pushed to the edge, and he's not taking no for an answer.
03:26Now, I know a thing or two about drama.
03:29Yeah.
03:30There might be perhaps some controversy around this concept of doing this serialized soap opera about a character who does what some might say is vigilante justice.
03:45How would you respond to people that are upset that the adjuster even exists?
03:51I mean, everyone's got their own perspective, depending on how they were raised, depending on their own life circumstances, that they can be pushed to think a certain way.
04:01And I think I just challenge everybody to see from both sides.
04:07I mean, I don't even think they're just necessary to, but to see the bigger picture, because it's so easy to get so emotionally driven.
04:18And then almost getting OCD about it, where nothing makes sense in the world if that goal doesn't get accomplished.
04:26And sometimes those goals are good.
04:28Sometimes those goals are bad.
04:29And sometimes there's a gray area.
04:32I, not that long ago, was involved in a show about this guy who has a name that might rhyme with Puigi.
04:46I did that show.
04:48That was a very big story.
04:49And when you have stories that big, people do documentaries, people do TV shows or movies inspired by that.
04:58So I think what you're doing is just show business.
05:01And since I haven't seen it yet, and it's not out there yet, perhaps people who might be upset now, if there's any controversy, download Reel Short, watch, and then form your opinion.
05:14Exactly, exactly, because with the ongoing news and events that are going on, people can have their own opinions already, even if they aren't even really listening to what's going on.
05:25Like, they'll just see the headlines and go, oh, yeah, that's, I have my own opinion, screw whatever else comes into play.
05:31But this is a bold take, and I think it's important to show this type of perspective for people that might be really upset for the cause of action.
05:44And the, you know, it's something you can't take back, something that some people might say cowardice or, but just because he was shot in the back or the goal was still set in place.
05:56And even I am still 50-50, I see what he's thinking, I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, it makes sense.
06:02But then, life is so precious.
06:06And it's just one of those things where consequences do have actions, and even third-party actions that you're controlling something or you're delegating, those consequences do end up leading to you as well.
06:22So it's not like, oh, I wasn't the one that did that, I wasn't the one who denied this.
06:28It's still under your guise and still under your business where it deserves a wake-up call.
06:33And this was definitely the loudest wake-up call you could probably bring.
06:38And I think Mateo really brings that out of the people.
06:43Why do you think, Evan, they chose you to play Mateo?
06:46I think they picked me because, one, I look a little bit like them, and I've been doing a few of their real shorts, and I think they're familiar with me, how I work.
06:56And, yeah, I was honestly honored that they even thought of me to read for it.
07:01And then when I got it, it was just, this is my first, it was my first lead in something this big.
07:08That's exciting.
07:09Yeah, it was extremely exciting, because, especially with the tone of this, it's, the other ones I've done were very lighthearted again, and they were fun.
07:17I liked doing them, but this is something I see myself doing more.
07:22I like the intensity.
07:23I'm pretty light-going and happy-go-lucky outside of the film.
07:28And just to really sink my teeth into something like this was a dream come true.
07:36And to be flown out to New York to do something like that, it was so fun, because I've always envisioned, like, when I was in high school, like, oh, I wanted to go to New York.
07:45I want to film on the streets.
07:46I want to do that.
07:47I want to do that.
07:48I felt jealous.
07:49And then I was able to live it, and it felt really good.
07:53I know a thing or two myself about going viral, and let's say Mateo was a real person.
08:02Mateo is a good-looking person, a handsome fella.
08:08Are there any shirtless moments in the adjuster that people might be screenshotting and sharing?
08:16There is a little bit of a montage scene of him, like, working out, getting intense.
08:21It's almost like how Batman, I don't know if you remember the Batman or Superman, where he's like, going hard.
08:27I don't have my shirt off.
08:28Sorry, ladies.
08:30Like you're sweating.
08:30I'm sweating, yeah.
08:31There's some sexy intensity in that.
08:34Other than that, I think the tone is less sexy, though.
08:38It's more serious.
08:38And I enjoy that Real Short is kind of trying to tackle this new genre because, I don't know, to tap into different things.
08:47And for the first time, it's really difficult because you're so oriented in one way.
08:54You're hitting the nail every time with this style of soap opera that they're creating.
08:59And then they're like, let's try expanding.
09:01And that's a risk.
09:02I mean, for me, it was fun on set.
09:04I felt the energy.
09:05I felt the love.
09:05I felt the caution with it just because it is, again, tied from real true crime events that we don't want to completely sway perspective and completely – I don't know.
09:17We just want to proceed with caution because it's a touchy subject and real lives are at stakes.
09:22So, a lot of drama and a lot of reason to either download Real Short or make sure you watch the adjuster.
09:31I think now might be a good chance to actually watch the trailer together.
09:35I would love that.
09:36All right.
09:37CEO of DB Health has been shot dead.
09:41Matteo Leone has been identified as a shooter.
09:44This is for you, Amelia.
09:47My nine-year-old sister.
09:50Your insurance is Dr. Clay.
09:52She was fine.
09:54No, no, no, no.
09:55I want you to do the right thing.
09:57That's business.
09:59You will never deny anyone again.
10:02Search the area.
10:03I didn't know that there are almost 200,000 health insurance-related deaths per year.
10:10Matteo Leone.
10:11Go ahead and arrest me.
10:12The people are about to wake up.
10:14Who has had the right to choose?
10:16Adjusting scour pay.
10:17The United States versus Matteo Leone.
10:19This is great.
10:20Also known as the adjuster.
10:22I'm just in shock here watching this.
10:24I'll tell you in a second.
10:25We're a terrorist.
10:26For the second charge, first-degree murder, we, the jury, find Matteo Leone.
10:31Wow, that was my first time seeing that.
10:38Wow, really?
10:38Yeah, yeah.
10:39What are your initial thoughts?
10:41It looks exciting.
10:42I looked good.
10:43My initial thoughts are just shock and impressed because it really felt like I was watching real life.
10:52Like, your hair looks very different there.
10:55Yeah.
10:56I got a perm for it.
10:57Your eyebrows, too.
10:58Yeah, they definitely put it on.
10:59They amped up your eyebrows.
11:00I'm like, oh, my God.
11:02Yeah.
11:02I was getting goosebumps.
11:04And I could feel the stakes that you were talking about.
11:10I want to watch more.
11:12Oh, my God.
11:14Excellent trailer.
11:15Amazing production value.
11:17Yeah.
11:17It seems like a big cast.
11:18You worked with a lot of people.
11:20I do have a lot of interactions with just the cop, the chief, everybody, and it's a lot of fun.
11:26Yeah, but the whole makeup and everything, like the perm getting it.
11:29Oh, you got a perm.
11:31Yeah, yeah.
11:31It paid off because I'm not often at a loss for words, but I'm watching the trailer and I'm like, wow, this is so legit.
11:40Yeah.
11:41My hair is kind of going back to its normal ways, the waviness.
11:44I can already see right now side by side, and obviously you were cast for this.
11:52Yeah, I wish I could show you a picture because right when we first did the makeup, I had a side by side with a wall of the guy we're kind of inspired by.
12:02And, yeah, I definitely look pretty on point.
12:05And it was cool to – I mean, shout out Reina.
12:07She was able to make me look really good for that.
12:09You know, I can imagine who all of the characters are, but is there somebody in the adjuster that is a personality in the project that perhaps I may not have thought of?
12:23Like, oh, mom or dad or –
12:26I loved the mayor, man.
12:30I just loved his deliveries.
12:32I thought he crushed it.
12:34He was fun.
12:34He's a fun just banter with.
12:36I don't want to talk anymore.
12:38I want to watch.
12:40All right, all right.
12:41Let's do it.
12:41I love the trailer.
12:43I want to watch some of the episodes and maybe give you a little of my own live commentary.
12:48Let's do it.
12:49Let's do it.
12:49I would love to hear what you got to say, honestly.
12:51The adjuster.
12:53Fictitious and tired.
12:54Oh, I love – oh, the attention to detail.
12:57The bullets, everything.
12:57Do you know what it's like to –
12:583D printed gun.
13:01It's intense.
13:02Yeah.
13:04Brooding.
13:06It's pretty fast.
13:07It's super fast paced.
13:08She looks so much like my actual sister.
13:10It's weird.
13:11It's fascinating.
13:13This is the first time I'm watching something of this genre, and I feel like I get it instantly.
13:19I love the music.
13:21Yeah, the score makes it so much better.
13:22Yeah.
13:23I have to review.
13:25Or Amelia's going to die.
13:27I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but I feel like this is like a comic book
13:32for girls and gays.
13:34I love that.
13:35I love comic books.
13:37I can only imagine the pace of one day.
13:39How much did you film in one day?
13:41You're averaging 14-hour days.
13:43Wow.
13:44Crazy.
13:46No.
13:46No, I don't want to die.
13:47I don't want to die.
13:48I'm not a fan of blood.
13:51Someone help.
13:51So can you give us a little backstory in this world?
13:59Do you know or did you make up what happened to the parents for yourself?
14:05Yeah.
14:06I was just, it was one of those like accident things where just like a plane accident, just
14:12plane crash.
14:13She's like, that's what made most sense in my head where it wasn't like a car accident
14:18where just one of those dad was taking pilot lessons and then, hey, baby, want to go with
14:23me?
14:23All right, let's go.
14:24And then, oh no.
14:26But I love that you could sense the love between the brother and his sister.
14:31Yeah.
14:31It's more than that.
14:32He's a paternal figure.
14:34Yeah.
14:34That was something I really wanted to hammer down because I mean, she honestly looked like
14:39my older, I'm the youngest of my family.
14:43And seeing her, it looked, literally felt like I was looking at my older, younger sister.
14:50And so seeing that, seeing her being in the hospital gown and being sick and dying, it's,
14:56it definitely triggered some crazy emotions and it was intense.
15:01But yeah, he is definitely the older brother, parent, guardian guy that really, almost like
15:08a nanny kind of figure to Lilo, you know?
15:11And would you describe him as somewhat like, is he an intellectual?
15:16Does he read a lot?
15:17I saw him journaling.
15:18So that in and of itself tells me a little bit about who Mateo is.
15:22Yeah.
15:23He's, he's someone who's very bright.
15:25I mean, he's graduated at the top of his class, was a mover in the world, and then had to
15:31really take a step back to take care of his sister and make sure that she had great education
15:36and a healthy life.
15:37And then things go take a spiral down.
15:39Uh, I'm, I'm nervous to keep watching now, but I feel like we should.
15:44Yeah.
15:45You're selling it.
15:46Don't let them fit you down.
15:47We've got to fight back.
15:48If I could just tell him.
15:51Is this real life or like a daydream?
15:53All right.
15:53You know what is real?
15:54I'll take a hundred K and the crib keeper's wife over there.
15:58She won't last a week.
15:59I'm going to get 200,000.
16:01I'm a cancer kid.
16:02Jerks.
16:03Don't you talk about my sister?
16:04You filmed a lot outdoors.
16:09What was it like shooting on the streets of New York city?
16:12It was a lot of fun.
16:13It was a lot of fun to like feel the energy that New York brings.
16:16I've heard of that.
16:17I heard that you got to use like the people around you to use your energy, man.
16:20I was like, okay, but you really, you really do feel it.
16:24And the very first shot we did was in Times Square.
16:28And it was like, I was being, like I said, I was being thrown into the wolves and I liked
16:32that.
16:33It was fun.
16:33And then that felt like a dream come true.
16:35Like the first day on set and then literally Times Square.
16:41Who am I?
16:42Pinched myself.
16:42And then it was so fun to just see the people get excited about like, oh, what are you guys
16:46filming?
16:47What?
16:47What?
16:48And then seeing me have a uncanny face to someone they know.
16:52People that were, you know, gawking, share any feedback with you while you were filming
16:58or between takes.
17:00There's this one Italian guy.
17:02He, I forget what his name was, but he was probably the most Italian guy I've ever met
17:07in my life.
17:07He's just the most Italian, my boss.
17:09He's got this, like, I swear I thought he's in Godfather.
17:11Yeah.
17:11He came up to me after we filmed in the diner shoot.
17:14He's like, oh, you're crushing it, man.
17:16You're the best.
17:17I was like, hey, thanks.
17:18Appreciate it.
17:19And then he tried to get me into some like crypto scam or whatever.
17:22But I just said, hey, I appreciate the compliment.
17:24How long was the shoot total?
17:27I think it was an eight day production.
17:30Wow.
17:31Yeah.
17:31It was jam packed.
17:33Jam packed.
17:33Like I said, it was long days.
17:35The early mornings, long nights, even went into some mornings.
17:38It was worth it.
17:39I think even in those long days, I still had the energy, even up until the end, which could
17:45have been the coffee, could have just been me getting, being excited for this role and
17:49wanting to portray what I had envisioned.
17:53If people are just discovering you now and excited as I am by these clips, they can watch
17:59you on another real short program.
18:01What was that one called?
18:02Yeah.
18:02It's called Quarterback Next Door.
18:04We just want to tell you a little bit about it.
18:06Yeah.
18:06So this one, totally different towns.
18:08It's totally different.
18:10Yeah.
18:10Quarterback was so fun.
18:11It was a love story.
18:12It's a boy next door, a girl who's really shy, not so pretty, kind of comes out of her
18:19shell.
18:21And Chris Cortuccio, he did great.
18:24He played the quarterback.
18:25I was in the lead in that one.
18:26Oh, I assumed you were the quarterback.
18:28Thanks.
18:28Thanks.
18:29Thanks.
18:29I could throw like a...
18:31Who did you play?
18:32I played the wide receiver.
18:33I played Elijah Townsend, who kind of invites this love triangle.
18:38But he's more so toying with his best friend, who's the quarterback.
18:43And he's just trying to force him to profess his love.
18:46Because it's written on his face.
18:49You can see it.
18:50Just admit your feelings, man.
18:52Come on.
18:53We've all been there.
18:55Just let it out.
18:57And then things will work out.
18:58And so he doesn't.
18:59So I take it upon myself to...
19:01All right, let's get fun.
19:02Let's get a little messy here and stir things up.
19:06I kind of take Skylar to take her out and stuff.
19:10She'd be flirtatious with her.
19:11She kind of likes me now, but she really likes her boy next door.
19:16And yeah, it's very, very sweet.
19:18Just boy next door love story.
19:20I really love the concept of Real Short working with a family of actors.
19:25Because then the users of the app invest not just in the story, but in the people bringing the stories to life as well.
19:35Keeping that in mind, is there a new genre or a different story you'd love to tell next with Real Short?
19:43Yeah, I think maybe some era pieces where back they tried doing some mob boss thing, like I was saying.
19:53Maybe 20s style, like Al Capone and Frank Nady.
19:58I think those type of stories would be really cool to tap into.
20:00Or maybe even a comic book style.
20:02I'll give my suggestion.
20:03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:04Hit me, hit me.
20:04I want to hear your thoughts.
20:05If we do it, I might have to make a cameo.
20:08Yeah?
20:08I'm imagining shipwrecked, and you're stranded on an island.
20:15You and a hot female co-star.
20:20And then figuring out life on the island.
20:25Cast away a situation, but with some love involved.
20:28Yeah, exactly.
20:29Or maybe there's a few people, and you're the only survivors.
20:32It's a plane crash, and it's a girl you don't even like.
20:36So there's suspense, there's comedy.
20:39Have you seen Triangle of Sadness?
20:41No.
20:42Oh, you should watch that.
20:43That was really good.
20:44It's kind of like that.
20:46You get rescued.
20:47I could be the rescuer.
20:48You want to be you?
20:49Okay, okay.
20:50Get your acting chops up again.
20:52The Adjuster is the first real-life-inspired program on Real Short.
21:00Did you feel a bit of an added responsibility when tackling this?
21:05Definitely.
21:06I didn't want to just throw it away.
21:09You know, how some characters, I'll be like,
21:11let me just get in my natural rhythm and see where I go.
21:15But this one, I was like, okay, I need to come at it with intention behind.
21:19Not that I don't prior, but it's just a different type of intention.
21:23And even bringing my energy to set as the lead.
21:28Being in my first lead, it was exciting, but I wanted to make everyone feel comfortable.
21:37I wanted everyone to enjoy it.
21:39Not because it's so easy.
21:41I mean, you said you're an actor.
21:42It's so easy to complain on set because you're always waiting for something.
21:46Got to wait.
21:46Got to.
21:47Okay, we're getting this coverage.
21:48We got to figure this out.
21:49Got to figure the lighting out.
21:50So it's a lot of waiting.
21:51So it's easy.
21:53My philosophy is never complain.
21:55Because then it starts, then you just pulled the thread.
21:57Then everyone starts, oh, you start.
21:59And then as the lead, I think if I just start, then it just lets everyone can go.
22:05And I wanted to keep things in wraps where like, hey, we're here to make a movie.
22:10We're here to have some fun.
22:11Like this is fun.
22:12And it's fun to tackle intense stories that have real life events to it that people's lives
22:19are at stakes.
22:19And you are playing with fire and fire can burn you, but then the fire can cook a sweet
22:25meal.
22:26Oh, I don't like to play with fire, but I love a sweet meal.
22:30Love a sweet meal.
22:31I feel like we got a, you know, a six course dining experience here with more to come.
22:38I'm so excited to be a part of this because it's newsworthy.
22:43To my knowledge, nobody else has done a fictionalized retelling of this situation.
22:53I think this is the first time Real Short has done anything like this also, right?
22:58Yeah, that's why I was so, I was really excited.
23:01Like when Yee brought this up to me, put this across my desk, I was like, yes, I need this.
23:07I need this.
23:08Just because the gravity that it held and it's just something I've dreamt of sinking my teeth
23:14into something so intense like this that it was so fun to really shift my perspective.
23:20Okay.
23:20Dive into this role and take this, take it by the reins.
23:25And I like to think I did that.
23:28We have seen a lot.
23:30I want to watch more.
23:32I'm going to be downloading Real Short.
23:34What's coming up?
23:35I think you're going to have to download the app to find out.
23:38Okay.
23:38I'm not, I don't want to spoil anything here.
23:40Okay.
23:41But yeah, download the app and you can watch it.
23:44How about that?
23:44Make, make your own opinion.
23:46I love how committed you were too.
23:48I love that you got a perm and it wasn't a bad wig.
23:53Yeah.
23:53I was, that was something I really wanted to do too.
23:55Cause the hair is, the look is kind of everything and a bad wig just takes you out.
24:02It just, you, you're watching something and you're not, come on, come on.
24:07And I don't know, a perm was, seemed so fun.
24:10And my girlfriend didn't like that.
24:11She was, she was bummed.
24:12She liked my hair probably.
24:13She liked playing with my hair, but it's kind of getting there now.
24:16Getting back to the waves.
24:17I love the perm.
24:19Thanks.
24:19I said, keep it.
24:20Keep it.
24:21Go back.
24:22Do another one after.
24:23Well, variety is good.
24:24I've never, I want to get a perm now.
24:26Yeah.
24:26Perms are kind of in right now.
24:27I think.
24:28How do you think the audience is going to respond to Mateo?
24:32I think we'll see a 50, 50 of just people agreeing, people disagreeing.
24:38Cause I could totally see people really relating to that, to him and to take care of his family.
24:44And when you can't take care of your loved one, the ego crush, the pride crush within your own heart.
24:51Like it just feels like you can't do anything and just hopeless that emotions just amp up and those actions can be either irreversible.
25:02And sometimes those irreversible things cause the greatest conversations to make the greatest change.
25:09And that's all that needs to be, I think, um, regardless of you agree or not, let's find some common ground.
25:18Well, that's the thing is that there is so much common ground.
25:20People at one point or another, we can all relate to despair and despair is very motivating either for good or bad.
25:31Do you think that the viewers will see Mateo as a hero or a villain or somewhere in between?
25:41Definitely somewhere in between.
25:42Definitely somewhere in between.
25:43I think when someone results to somebody, I think that kind of negates the hero aspect of things, but it's a sticky situation.
25:54So I definitely somewhere in between for sure, even for me, I don't even know where I stand and I played him, you know, it's, it's, I feel like I keep flip-flopping and I, there's times where I lean into him and I'm like, oh yeah, that's definitely it.
26:07And there's times where I'm like, oh man, like, I wish he could almost take himself out of that and not be so desperate to despair.
26:17And like, cause you're, like you said, it can drive you to do some certain things that you might not want.
26:22Like for even example, just going back for his bracelet, like, no, you don't need to do that.
26:27But his, his emotions drove him to do that.
26:30You know, like the smart thing would be just get out of Dodge.
26:34What conversations do you think this will spark or that you would like to happen from the show?
26:41I would like people to constantly challenge the status quo, challenge the system, challenge, you got to put anyone who's in a position of power and leverage over a bunch of people, you got, you got to constantly put their feet to the fire because they're going to get complacent.
27:00They're going to get comfortable and then they're going to push the line farther.
27:03And then before, oh, no one said anything.
27:06Let's keep pushing it.
27:07Let's keep denying some people.
27:09We're making a lot of money here, folks.
27:10So you just got to keep challenging.
27:13You got to keep them accountable.
27:14And as crazy as it sounds, it's just challenge everybody, even yourself, challenge yourself.
27:19If you find yourself agreeing or disagreeing with him, try and see the other side.
27:24Don't be married to that concept and be like, oh no, I'm right because this is what I think.
27:31It's why do they think that?
27:33Why do they agree with him?
27:34Put yourself in his shoes and see where his desperation drove him and see where, why people are saying, yeah, he's the guy.
27:42He's my, he's my, he's my man.
27:44Why, why would they say that?
27:45That's a sound sane person.
27:47No, it's their first life on their first time on life on this earth.
27:51Like it's, you can't just completely negate people's opinions just because you disagree because you have this one way of thinking.
27:59And I guess that's what I challenged the viewers is to challenge yourselves, challenge hires.
28:05What is the most Mateo thing about you in real life?
28:10The most Mateo thing about me?
28:12Definitely family first, family oriented.
28:16He's a **** for my sister too.
28:19And it's tough.
28:22Definitely family, family first.
28:24What are you most looking forward to after the adjuster is out there into the world?
28:30I'm excited to seeing the conversations that people have amongst themselves and seeing who sides with who and why.
28:38And yeah, I think it'll be really interesting to see what the public's opinion is about it.
28:44Is it majority rules that they're in favor of this type of behavior?
28:47Or is it majority rules like, oh no, we've got to be past that.
28:50We're better than it.
28:51It's, I don't know.
28:52I don't even know.
28:53And it'll be really interesting to see what the viewers come up with it with their own thoughts and minds and perspectives.
29:01I don't know.
29:02Yeah.
29:02I don't know.
29:03I think.
29:03I don't either.
29:04I think it'll be a little bit of everything.
29:07Time will tell.
29:08Time will tell.
29:09Hindsight's 20-20.
29:09We'll see if we knocked it out of the park, which I think we did.
29:13Now that you're done with the adjuster, do you think we'll see more of this kind of rip from the headlines genre on Real Short?
29:20Yeah, I hope so.
29:21I really hope so because I think this type of storyline is something that the viewers wanted, something I wanted.
29:29I know I enjoy the rom-coms, I enjoy that stuff, but it's also fun to dive into something deeper, something you can truly sink your teeth into with real life events that just, I don't know, you have that relatability.
29:44You can go, you have the comparison rather than, oh, here's the fictional world, which is fun.
29:49I love fiction, but it's fun to match eggs, you know, see what's going on.
29:54I think it might be a good idea to do a story inspired by an actress and her co-star and allegations of sexual harassment on the set and then extorting control of the movie and then a big lawsuit.
30:10That would be amazing.
30:11Okay, Jess.
30:12I think you could play that actor.
30:14Yeah.
30:15I just got to grow the beard out then.
30:17I see it.
30:18I see it.
30:18And I could play myself.
30:21Yeah, you were kind of involved with that.
30:23I've actually been named in multiple of the complaints in that whole drama.
30:28Were you?
30:29Yeah.
30:29Oh, shoot.
30:30What happened?
30:31Just citing me.
30:32Okay.
30:33You know, like mentioning my coverage of everything alongside the traditional media.
30:40And like, I remember Paldoni, that's his name, right?
30:45Yeah, I think so.
30:46Bustin Paldoni asking his crisis PR expert, did you plant that?
30:52We wouldn't do this, right?
30:53And then sending a link to my story.
30:56So, yeah, I loved it.
30:57I was like, oh, thanks.
30:58Thanks for the shout out.
31:00Yeah.
31:00Dang.
31:00I think what's interesting about the story of the actor and the actress, there's a little
31:07bit of a parallel to the Mateo story in that people have this feeling of injustice and David
31:15versus Goliath.
31:17And in your story, you're David and the big insurance boss is Goliath.
31:21And with the Bustin Paldoni, he's David and the Blondie is Goliath with her husband, the
31:30power couple.
31:31So, yeah, I do think that these stories and the dynamics and the conversations that come
31:37from them are really interesting.
31:38And I think a smart way of getting new eyeballs to Real Short.
31:42You know, that's a good idea, honestly.
31:44I agree.
31:45Let's see what Real Short has to say for that.
31:48Are you on all social platforms?
31:50I am.
31:51I'm public on Instagram.
31:53What's your name across socials?
31:56Evan Brownie.
31:57Yeah.
31:57I'm not on Twitter.
31:58What you eat?
31:59Yeah.
31:59So I guess I'm only on Instagram.
32:02I'm Perez Hilton.
32:04Thanks for watching.
32:04Make sure to catch the adjuster tomorrow on Real Short.
