00:00In these celebrities' homes...
00:07Are the lady okay?
00:09He's already sad.
00:11The stars aren't the only ones in the spotlight.
00:15Salvation.
00:16No, I don't like that one.
00:19Because they're being plagued by the paranormal.
00:22The fear was so strong, it was terrible.
00:25You're talking about dead people walking around your house.
00:28Thankfully, there's a team that can help.
00:31There's loads of voices.
00:33Medium Ian Lawman.
00:35This is a psychic overload.
00:37Jesus, where was that?
00:40Paranormal investigator Jane Harris.
00:43Oh, it was me. Deep male voice.
00:46It's going off again, look, look, look, look.
00:49Tech expert Barry Guy.
00:52Is there somebody behind me?
00:53Yes.
00:56No!
00:57No!
00:58And American paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman.
01:01Hello?
01:02It's... it's telling me to f*** up?
01:06In this case, Ian, Barry and Katrina stop at nothing
01:09to return our celebrities' home,
01:11back to the land of the living.
01:13Oh, well.
01:15What?
01:16Do you know, guys, I do say that I feel quite emotional a lot.
01:32But for some reason, on this case, I'm getting, like, a lot of emotion.
01:36More than normal.
01:38That's intriguing, actually.
01:40Given what we know about this case.
01:42Are you able to tap in to figure out what emotion it is?
01:45Yeah, I can try.
01:47In this investigation...
01:51This is a psychic overload.
01:53...an 18th century church.
01:56We heard there were the remains of poor souls under the floorboards.
02:02It's thrust into the limelight.
02:05Peter.
02:06No way!
02:07What the f***?
02:09When its celebrity owner...
02:11Josephine.
02:12Oh, in that book, didn't it say Josephine?
02:16...helps piece together...
02:18She was an entertainer.
02:20She is American.
02:21...the ghosts of its past.
02:23Peter.
02:24Peter.
02:25No way!
02:26No way!
02:27No way!
02:28The f***.
02:29I don't know whether it's because I'm at the seaside, but the sadness I'm feeling,
02:42it's almost as if I've been lost at sea or something along those lines.
02:47I need to clear my throat.
02:48It's almost like it's filling with water.
02:51Whilst Barry and Katrina have read case notes, medium Ian relies on his psychic senses to guide him.
02:59I can hear singing.
03:01What kind of singing?
03:03I'm trying to...
03:04I'm trying to listen.
03:06It's almost like mourning is...
03:07Mourning has broken.
03:09That's a hymn.
03:10It is a hymn.
03:11Mourning has broken.
03:16The team are on their way to investigate an apartment within this converted church.
03:20...which is owned by actor and TV personality Anthony Cotton.
03:27When we first walked through the door, it was horrendous.
03:36It was filthy.
03:37It stunk.
03:38It was freezing cold.
03:40The wind used to howl through the house.
03:43So, it was a very, very grim experience.
03:46Nobody really liked being here more than five minutes, because it was like...
03:51It's a horrible, horrible gaffe.
03:53Did not like it.
03:54No.
03:55A mile to half.
03:57Peter hated it with a passion.
04:00And would sometimes sit in the car and not get out of the car.
04:02But it's not often you get the chance to renovate something like a church like this.
04:08One of our best friends, Joe, his dad renovated the building initially from a working church into housing.
04:17This obviously has a lot of history, because it's a church.
04:20So, we're in the old town of Scarborough.
04:23And it's where the fishing community gathered.
04:27And when it was renovated, I know there was potentially bodies under the floorboards.
04:32There were the remains of poor souls that perished at sea.
04:39This was like the first place of worship.
04:42So, they were laid to rest here.
04:44I suppose to then be taken elsewhere.
04:47Do I believe in the paranormal?
04:49No, I don't.
04:50No.
04:51But, I'm fascinated in the history of the house.
04:54And if the team can record a being, a vibe, an energy, doing something, I'm here for it.
05:04I'm absolutely here for it.
05:07I'm ready to be shown that this stuff exists.
05:12I am.
05:17Alright, Ian, this is it, here on the left.
05:19So, I'm going to drop you off here, okay?
05:22While Barry and Katrina head off to research further into the case...
05:26Good luck.
05:28See you later.
05:29Ian's about to see if there are any lost souls lurking within these walls.
05:39Hello?
05:43Hello?
05:46Hello?
05:47Well, you can clearly see it is a church, or converted church, should I say, into different apartments.
05:58But the floor, as I look down, my feet disappear.
06:02That normally indicates that something strange has happened on the original ground-level floor.
06:08I was amazed to learn that the historic town of Scarborough was founded by Vikings over a thousand years ago.
06:19To find out more about our property and the land it sits on, I'm meeting with historian Penny Griffiths Morgan.
06:26So, you're going to have to help an American gal out. Can you help fill me in?
06:30So, Scarborough in itself has got very, very much of a strong maritime history.
06:37And throughout the years there have been disasters at sea, people lost at sea.
06:43But the property that you guys are going to be investigating, that church was built in the very, very early 1700s.
06:51What we've got here is a map. Now, that church is roughly here.
06:58Okay.
06:59Well, now, I mean, churches had graveyards, right?
07:01They did, yep.
07:02Do we know where the graveyard would have been?
07:04Looking at this map, around there.
07:07So, what about, um, I read that there were bodies found underneath the front part of the building.
07:12Do you know more about that?
07:13Uh, there's not a lot on it, um, other than reports say that there were two bodies found in separate sarcophagi.
07:20The bodies were, shall we say, surrounded by 12th century artefacts.
07:26Is it possible there's more bodies?
07:28Very possible.
07:29I'm really, really, for once, confused about this place.
07:40Because a church should be a happy place.
07:44You know when you walk into a hospital?
07:47That's what it feels like.
07:48It feels like you're walking into a hospital where people were poorly and illness and death and things like that.
07:56And, but it's a church.
08:03To find out more about the help required, I'm meeting Anthony's partner, Peter, on Scarborough's seafront, just 200 metres from the property.
08:12Peter, hi.
08:13What attracted you to actually buy your property here?
08:16Well, we were looking for somewhere to renovate and to do up and let out to people.
08:20And we're very into historical properties, basically.
08:22So that's why, when it needed a regeneration, we thought we'd regenerate a church.
08:28Have you experienced anything that you'd considered to be paranormal in that house?
08:32There's definitely a feeling of that.
08:34We didn't sleep well the first few times because it's a very dark property.
08:38And there was a lot of noises and stuff before we regenerated it.
08:42Well, now the property is let out, so you've got people there that stay to sleep there, stay there and enjoy their time here in Scarborough.
08:51Yeah.
08:52But you feel that there is something there.
08:54Maybe.
08:55Maybe.
09:01Wow, this feels different.
09:02I feel I've been watched in here.
09:22I certainly feel the energy is different in here than downstairs.
09:26I do, I do sense the female here more while she's singing.
09:39I've got this, um, medical smell.
09:46I still have this image of, was it ever used as a hospital?
09:51Was it ever used where they would hold bodies or something?
09:55I'm very confused, but there's just something about dead people being here.
10:03After learning from Penny that two bodies were exhumed from underneath the property,
10:07I'm doing some of my own digging.
10:10So, I've been going down the rabbit hole of trying to find out about these bodies underneath the church.
10:16And there seems to be no concrete source for the bodies being found in sarcophagus.
10:21That tells me that the bodies being found in our sarcophagus is probably more, um, legend that's been based on fact.
10:30The other interesting thing that caught my attention is four doors up from Antony's house,
10:35there's an old hospital, and it kind of acted like an almshouse for mariners, their wives, and children.
10:40So, we do know that women and children were at that property,
10:43and they did have a couple rooms that were set aside for mariners who were injured or sick.
10:47And on top of that, Scarborough was attacked during World War I and World War II.
10:51So, we have 200 bombings happening in 30 minutes, as well as 20 separate air raids.
10:56So, it makes me wonder, are any of these points of history affecting Antony's current-day haunting?
11:05This is a psychic overload.
11:08Um...
11:10I'm seeing...
11:13a little boy with, um...
11:16almost like he's in Sunday school, um, dress, but he's got a box, and it's...
11:22I'm not confident enough to say it's a gas mask,
11:25but it looks like they would have worn in the wartime.
11:30This little boy is very prominent. He's walking around.
11:35And I can't see his mom, and I can't see his father.
11:38But his father...
11:41would have been lost at sea, I feel.
11:44His life would have been taken from him.
11:47I read that you discovered remains under your floor of this old church.
11:55Yes.
11:56Yeah.
11:57Our best friend's dad separated it into four different, um, apartments.
12:01Right, okay.
12:02So, when he was doing that, he discovered bodies
12:05that then they had to speak to a local MP
12:08to get permission to be removed.
12:10And I think there was something about the sailors,
12:12if they'd perished at sea, unfortunately,
12:15being laid to rest underneath there or there.
12:18Well, so the rumour is that the remains that were exhumed
12:21from your former church were fishermen that had, unfortunately...
12:26If we come across any entities in your property,
12:30what would you like us to do?
12:32Get rid of them.
12:33We don't want any entities or anything going on in there.
12:35We want it to be as peaceful as possible.
12:37Okay.
12:38Well, I'm excited to see whether or not there are any spirits
12:41that need our help.
12:42Yeah.
12:43Fancy joining me there?
12:44Absolutely.
12:45Can you hear me? I'm talking to the little boy.
12:50You seem to be following me around,
12:53so I know you're aware that I'm here.
12:56Are you lost?
12:58Are you looking for Mummy and Daddy?
13:03I know we can talk to the boy.
13:05That's really good.
13:07There is somebody what appears to be wearing
13:10fisherman clothes, and I know he's intelligent,
13:13so I do feel he would be able to communicate with us.
13:17And this lady who's singing...
13:20I just need to find her.
13:23But this is a first for a long time for me
13:25where I've been really confused.
13:27With so many factors potentially impacting this case,
13:37it's no wonder Anthony and Peter are keen to investigate further.
13:42Hi.
13:43It's real.
13:44How are you?
13:45You're okay.
13:46You're late.
13:47Wow.
13:48Anthony, lovely to meet you.
13:49This is your house.
13:50Hello.
13:51Nice to meet you.
13:52Yeah, nice to meet you.
13:53Wow.
13:54There's a lot going on here.
13:55I felt there was something below my feet.
13:58And then as I was walking around, there was a female,
14:01there was a man, and there was a small child.
14:04Okay, so what we know about this building
14:07is that I believe 1701 is when it was erected.
14:10Now, this becomes quite curious
14:12because there were two bodies exhumed under this house.
14:16Here?
14:17Peter told me, yes.
14:18Mm-hmm.
14:19Because we're so close to the sea,
14:21obviously when people perished at sea,
14:24they had to be brought somewhere.
14:26So what we'd heard was this was the closest place of worship
14:30from the seafront.
14:31So people were brought here to have some kind of dignity and rest.
14:37The property is over three floors,
14:39so we're going to begin upstairs on the landing.
14:42Katrina, can you call out on this one?
14:44Mm-hmm.
14:45Okay.
14:46I'll be recording, but we're also using an ITC application.
14:50We'd like to speak to whomever is in this house in spirit form.
14:55Can you tell us who you are?
14:58Peter.
15:00No way!
15:01What the ?
15:02Uh-huh.
15:03No, sick.
15:04Hi.
15:05What?
15:06That's your name?
15:07Yes, correct.
15:08Wow.
15:09Wait, who are you?
15:10What did you just ask?
15:11Uh, who are you?
15:12What's your name, I think I asked?
15:13Yeah, what's your name?
15:14Okay, are you Peter or are you talking to Peter here?
15:17What?
15:18Can you tell me yes or no?
15:19Are you Peter?
15:20Yeah.
15:21It's...
15:22What did it say?
15:23I thought it said it's me in the very beginning.
15:25Oh.
15:26Are you talking about Peter, Peter here?
15:29What?
15:30Peter.
15:31Peter again.
15:32Peter.
15:33That's the same voice.
15:34Peter.
15:35Okay, I'm going to have to play that back.
15:37Can you tell us who you are?
15:38Peter.
15:39Oh my God.
15:40That's really weird.
15:41That sounds really weird.
15:42Yeah.
15:43Peter.
15:44It sounded, didn't it?
15:45The form of the word went Peter.
15:47Yeah.
15:48There was a slight...
15:49Accent.
15:50Accent on there as well, isn't there?
15:51Mm.
15:52Yeah, an accent.
15:53Are you talking about Peter, Peter here?
15:56Peter who lives here, who owns this building?
15:58Message.
15:59Yeah.
16:00Message.
16:01Yeah.
16:02Yeah, that's totally what I heard, message.
16:04Message, yeah.
16:05Peter.
16:06Peter.
16:07That's the same voice.
16:08Okay.
16:09Wow.
16:10So we got Peter twice.
16:11Yeah, Peter twice.
16:12Let's get Peter to call out.
16:15Peter, are you trying to communicate with me?
16:20Just...
16:21Yes.
16:22My name's Peter also.
16:24Are you trying to communicate with me?
16:26What?
16:27No way!
16:28I did hear that, but I didn't want to say that.
16:30Gay love?
16:31Yeah.
16:32Can you see us?
16:33Yes.
16:34Can you see us?
16:35Yes.
16:36Can you see us?
16:37Yes.
16:38It was definitely...
16:39We did hear that.
16:40That was definitely a response, wasn't it?
16:41Yeah.
16:42If it's aware of us, it's an intelligent spirit.
16:45We continue upstairs.
16:47So this is the top floor suite.
16:50We're going to use a spirit box, which allows spirits to communicate through the electromagnetic
17:01spectrum.
17:02Ian, if you want to call out on this one.
17:04Yeah.
17:05I can't get this lady out of my head, so it's very frustrating.
17:10I'm calling out to the female, the lady who's here.
17:14Can you hear my voice, please?
17:17Is Peter here?
17:20Is there a child here?
17:24Is there a child here?
17:29That sounded like Peter.
17:31Did it?
17:32I could hear that.
17:33That sounded like a male voice saying Peter.
17:35It was definitely two syllables.
17:36There was definitely that hard consonant in the middle.
17:38All right.
17:39In that session.
17:40What's confusing for me, this female I'm seeing is dressed beautifully.
17:44She's got a really long coat on.
17:46The coat has a fur collar, so she looks immaculate.
17:49Are you able to pick up on a time period based off of that clothing?
17:5320s, maybe?
17:541920s.
17:55Do you know whether there was Americans based here?
17:58What are you picking up on?
17:59This female's not English.
18:01Is she American?
18:02Mm.
18:03Did you just hear that?
18:04I totally...
18:05Amy, was that you?
18:06No, what?
18:07That was a female voice.
18:08I absolutely heard that.
18:09Where?
18:10Yeah, from here.
18:11A female voice.
18:12Is that anybody from our crew?
18:13They're not even close enough.
18:15Are you recording?
18:16Did you actually hear as well?
18:17I definitely heard that.
18:18Are you recording?
18:19Yep.
18:20We're going to try and connect with this female using the Alice box,
18:24which will announce any responses picked up in the ether.
18:28I'm calling out to the female that's here.
18:32Could you tell me your name?
18:35Could you try and tell me why you're here?
18:41Josephine.
18:42Josephine.
18:43Josephine?
18:44Josephine.
18:45Wow.
18:46Oh, in that book didn't it say Josephine?
18:50What book?
18:52To Josephine!
18:54Oh!
18:55So I bought this book off a book dealer.
18:57It's the selected poems of Edith Sitwell, which is...
19:00She was from Scarborough.
19:03And this wouldn't mean a lot to many people, but Sybil Thorndyke is a very famous, revered actress.
19:11Mm-hmm.
19:12And it says, to Josephine with love from Sybil Thorndyke.
19:15And that was 1942.
19:18Can I try something?
19:19Can Ian hold onto this book and do some psychometry?
19:21Yeah.
19:22I need to know if this woman here, the female energy, Josephine, is associated and attached to this book.
19:28Josephine, can you hear my voice?
19:31You gave me your name, but I did get an American link somewhere.
19:38Form.
19:39Ian, is this the same female energy?
19:43Is she Josephine?
19:44And she looks like an American actress or somebody who would work in the theatre.
19:48I feel like I need to hold this.
19:50Okay.
19:51She'll come through me now.
19:54Ma'am.
19:55Ma'am.
19:56Ma'am?
19:57That's American.
19:58Bill?
19:59Oh, that's American too?
20:00Bill.
20:01Bill.
20:02Peter, can you hold the book?
20:03Yeah.
20:04Which occupation was you an actress?
20:07Was you in showbiz?
20:12Travel.
20:14Travel.
20:16American.
20:17Lot.
20:18Lot.
20:20Studio lot.
20:21Studio lot.
20:22Or travels a lot.
20:23But then, how does she get here?
20:25Why is she here in this church, in this place?
20:28Ooh.
20:29Or is she attached to the book?
20:31Well, that's it.
20:32That's what we got to find out for the main investigation.
20:34Ooh.
20:35End recording.
20:36Let's turn this off.
20:37We've already got some great leads to work with.
20:40Well, thank you both, honestly, and we will see you tomorrow
20:43and hopefully be able to reveal to you our findings.
20:46Good luck.
20:47Mega.
20:48Thank you very much.
20:53Darkness descends and Anthony and Peter leave us for the night.
20:57To ensure we capture any paranormal activity during the investigation,
21:05the crew are setting up infrared cameras all over the property.
21:09Now, I've got the crew setting up the remaining cameras,
21:12but I think we should concentrate our efforts here in this top-floor bedroom,
21:16but also on the landing, the stairs, and downstairs,
21:19which will be closest to where they exhume those bodies.
21:22Mm-hmm.
21:23Buried to nerve center.
21:25Go to nerve.
21:27Can we switch all cameras to infrared?
21:35We start in the front room, where the two bodies were exhumed.
21:39Do you want to do an EVP session?
21:40Yeah.
21:41We need to find out if one of these bodies could be Peter.
21:45I'm trying to communicate with Peter.
21:48Please, can you give us a sign?
21:50Can you speak?
21:52Are you buried beneath this church?
21:57In recording.
21:58I'm trying to communicate with Peter.
22:02Are you buried beneath this church?
22:06What was that?
22:08That was a whisper.
22:10To me, it sounds like, come on.
22:13Are you buried beneath this church?
22:19I can hear, come on, very clearly.
22:21Yeah.
22:22Ian, do you want to call out this time?
22:23The gentleman.
22:25Can you tell me your name and why you're here?
22:35What was that?
22:36That was something to the left.
22:39Knock from the corner.
22:41Do you know anything about the bones or the bodies that was here?
22:48I just heard a voice.
22:51End recording.
22:53The gentleman.
22:55Can you tell me your name and why you're here?
23:01Oh!
23:02Your name and why you're here.
23:09That's some more clue.
23:10Immediately after this EVP response, there was a knock that seemed to come from that corner.
23:14Mm-hmm.
23:15Yeah.
23:17There you go.
23:19Do you know anything about the bones or the bodies that was here?
23:25I just heard a voice.
23:26Mm, that's right.
23:27Where is it?
23:28Where is it?
23:29Go back.
23:30It's here.
23:31Out.
23:32Do you know anything about the bones?
23:37There.
23:38There, yeah.
23:39Anything about, and it's that whisper I heard.
23:41Yeah.
23:42What is it?
23:43Can you make it out?
23:44To me, it sounds like the same voice.
23:45It doesn't sound like Peter.
23:47No, 100%.
23:49Before we carry on questioning.
23:51Hello?
23:52Hello.
23:53Our producer Beth has some historical information that could be relevant.
23:58I've just done a little bit of digging online and I found a Robert that was a child that died in the Second World War.
24:06Here?
24:07He was nine years old.
24:08He lived literally.
24:09He'd all died.
24:10How did he, how did he die, Beth?
24:13Abdominal injuries, but I can, I'll read you through more detail.
24:19Further research reveals that nine-year-old Robert was the victim of an exploded mine and the first fatal World War II casualty in Scarborough.
24:28Let's go back in, see if we can talk to a Robert.
24:31This time, we're going to use an ITC application.
24:36Whenever you're ready.
24:37Robert.
24:40We'd like to try and talk to you.
24:44Is that a yes?
24:45Is that a yes?
24:46That's what I would think.
24:47Are you lost, Robert?
24:51Are you on your own?
24:52Yep.
24:54Yep.
24:55Is that a boy's voice?
24:56Yep.
24:57I'm sensing this boy is the one I saw during my walk around who was carrying a gas mask.
25:04I wonder if he's the same one who lived locally.
25:08Did you live down the road, Robert?
25:11No.
25:13Could you?
25:14Yes.
25:15Wow.
25:16Amazing response.
25:17Robert, where was you hurt?
25:19Where was the pain?
25:22Right here.
25:23Right here.
25:24Right here.
25:26I know you said right here.
25:29But tell me directly where that pain was.
25:33Help me.
25:34Do you need our help, Robert?
25:38Was that help?
25:39Help, yeah.
25:40Wow.
25:41Thank you, Robert.
25:43Can you tap on something?
25:44Wow.
25:45Rest.
25:46Rest.
25:49The responses help and rest indicate to us that Robert wants his soul to be at rest and needs our help to pass him over.
25:57But before we do that, we move back to the landing to try and contact Peter again.
26:03Yeah, I don't like the second floor.
26:05What's over here?
26:06This is just the bathroom?
26:07It's a bedroom if you go through.
26:08It's a bedroom.
26:09Wait, Barry, did you go into this room yet?
26:11No.
26:12Do you want to step back here?
26:13So when I step in here, and I don't know, right, but extreme Disney-ness, almost like you're reading in the car and you get the strain in your eyes and then you get carsick.
26:23That is the feel I get in there.
26:25As I feel sick in this room and I don't like the second floor, I'm going to stay here while Barry heads downstairs.
26:32Whenever you're ready, Katrina.
26:34And Ian goes to the third floor.
26:36I wonder what spirits will be attracted to whom.
26:39I want to talk to whoever we were talking to earlier.
26:45Would you mind telling me your name?
26:48Peter.
26:49No!
26:51What the?
26:52The fuck?
26:54Hey, Peter.
26:56Tell me your name.
26:58Your last name.
27:02Ben.
27:04Again, a Ben.
27:05Was that Ben?
27:06I had Ben Elio as well.
27:07Yeah, Ben.
27:09Peter Ben?
27:10Yes.
27:11Ellen.
27:12Is Ben your surname?
27:14I'm...
27:15Larry.
27:17Peter, did you die here in this building?
27:20Dead.
27:22Dead.
27:23Dead.
27:24How did you die?
27:26How did that happen? Try to remember.
27:30Pray.
27:32Pray.
27:33Peter, are you buried underneath this building?
27:37Up here.
27:41What did that say up here?
27:43That's how I took it, up here.
27:45Okay, so you're not buried under this...
27:48Did it say up here?
27:49That's what I heard, up here.
27:50Okay, I'm coming up.
27:52When I asked if they were buried here, it said up there.
27:54So I'm assuming we're not talking to whatever is buried underneath here or whoever was buried underneath here.
28:01Okay.
28:02So we were assuming that actually the spirits in this house aren't the spirits potentially attached to those exhumed remains.
28:10Doesn't seem to be so far.
28:12I heard Ben, the name Ben.
28:14We kept hearing Peter.
28:15Yeah, yeah.
28:16Is that Peter's name?
28:17Would Benjamin be a last name?
28:18Is that a common last name here?
28:19Ben with two N's is a last name.
28:21It could be, yeah.
28:22Oh, Ben with two N's.
28:23Yeah.
28:24Peter Ben.
28:26Robert and Peter seem keen to communicate.
28:30But I can't shake off this image of this American Josephine.
28:35Josephine was up here during Spirit Triggers.
28:38Mm-hmm.
28:39So if her energy is still here, we want to identify who she is, where she came from.
28:44Is she associated with this book?
28:47Using psychometry, Ian's going to link in with Josephine to find out more about her.
28:52So she died, she died of, um, it's hitting me hard.
28:58She died of, um, cancer.
29:01Um, I don't think she's been dead that long.
29:04While he does that, I'm going to take full-spectrum photos to see if I can capture any visual evidence.
29:11So, she was an entertainer.
29:15She is American.
29:17She's so desperate to talk, I'm struggling to keep up.
29:21Um, slow down, Josephine.
29:23Uh, 1980s, 1980, 1983.
29:291983, cancer.
29:311983, cancer, Josephine.
29:34She was a dancer, entertainer, singer.
29:36Um, New York.
29:38New York.
29:39Um, she reti-
29:42She reti-
29:43She retired young.
29:44She keeps saying, I'm done.
29:45I'm done.
29:46I'm done.
29:47I'm done.
29:48Um, I don't know what that done means.
29:49She's done.
29:50Did we have a bill?
29:51Yes.
29:52Um, William.
29:53It's taking me back to the early 19s.
29:5819...
29:5919...
30:0019...
30:0119...
30:02Ah, 1906.
30:051906, she showed me.
30:08She's...
30:09She's a baby.
30:10She's a baby.
30:111906.
30:12Oh, God.
30:13And William's her husband.
30:16William's there.
30:17Josephine is a middle name.
30:18It's a middle name?
30:19It's a middle name.
30:20There's another name before that.
30:22And every time I try and get a name, she keeps saying, I'm done.
30:24I'm done.
30:25I'm done.
30:26Okay, hold on.
30:27Can I ask you a question?
30:28Mm-hmm.
30:29Is she always here?
30:30Did the book bring her in?
30:32I don't know whether the book...
30:34This is her book, or it's kind of attracted her here.
30:40When Ian said earlier he sensed a 1920s American actress called Josephine, I did some initial
30:47research online and found a few people that matched his description.
30:51But now, one in particular is standing out.
30:54This is actually someone I saw earlier, and I didn't show it to you.
30:58Are you joking?
30:59No.
31:00Do you want information, Ian, or no?
31:02Do you want to keep going?
31:03Not yet.
31:04I don't want anything.
31:05Yep, I won't tell you.
31:06Because Ian only wants to work with his psychic abilities, we ask him to leave the room so Barry
31:11and I can corroborate what he's picked up with the information I've found.
31:16You ready for this?
31:17Mary Josephine Dunn, born May 1st, 1906.
31:20Died February 3rd, 1983.
31:22Based on what you've got...
31:23Yeah.
31:24...in order of what he said.
31:25Yep.
31:26Lived in New York.
31:27Yep.
31:28Born New York.
31:29Yep.
31:301906.
31:31Yep.
31:32Died of cancer in 1983.
31:33Yep.
31:34Bloody hell.
31:35Entertainer, dancer?
31:36Yep.
31:37Let me double check.
31:38She was a stage and film actress of the 19th.
31:41A lot of them sang and danced, so I don't feel like that's so out of the question.
31:45Yeah, and husband is William or Bill, maybe.
31:47First husband.
31:48Maybe military.
31:49First husband was William.
31:50First husband was William.
31:51We got a Bill, didn't we?
31:52And her name, sorry, let me confirm this.
31:54Yeah.
31:55It's Josephine Dunn.
31:56Josephine Dunn, D-U-N-N.
31:58That's blowing me away.
31:59That's really weird.
32:01We're amazed at Ian's accuracy, but it's also made me wonder if he could also visually
32:07identify her.
32:08Just a suggestion, but we could do like a photo lineup if you want.
32:13Do it.
32:14I've got four photos of different actresses from that same period, but only one of them
32:22is Mary Josephine Dunn.
32:24Hey, Ian.
32:25Hey.
32:26Hey, you feeling okay?
32:27No, I'm, you know, so I'm really charged.
32:29I feel hyper.
32:30And even now, I can just hear her voice.
32:32That was wild.
32:33It is wild.
32:34There's something we want to try with you if you're open to it.
32:37Okay.
32:38Okay, so there's four photos for different women.
32:41Oh, my God.
32:43Oh, my God.
32:44Okay, so I just need to say, Ian just pointed to the bottom left.
32:49That is Josephine Dunn.
32:51Her first name was Mary.
32:52Dunn?
32:53Yeah.
32:54And I thought she meant Dunn as in we're Dunn.
32:56She was married four times.
32:57Her first husband's name, William.
33:00No way.
33:01Yeah.
33:02Yeah.
33:03We did.
33:04If the book wasn't here, would Josephine be here?
33:07Or is she only here because of the book?
33:09Meaning wherever the book is, she would be.
33:11I think it's a conduit for me to link in with her.
33:15And I feel she's here.
33:18She wants a story to be heard.
33:20So if that's her, then what is this more malevolent feeling on the second floor?
33:26Well, we need to go and find out more about this Peter character.
33:31Yeah.
33:32While I don't claim to be psychic, I do have a spiritual intuition.
33:37And this floor makes me feel uneasy.
33:40I don't like that bedroom at all back here.
33:44I feel sick and dizzy and completely off kilter.
33:47I'm running Echo Box.
33:49Katrina will call out.
33:51Peter, what happened to you?
33:53Just here.
33:56Oh.
33:57I think there's somebody there.
33:59Here.
34:00I feel so messed up when I go to this part of the house.
34:03I'm going to go and stand in that doorway.
34:06Peter.
34:07Hello.
34:09Hey.
34:10Me.
34:11Me.
34:12Hi, Peter.
34:13My name's Ian.
34:14It's weird in there, isn't it?
34:16Yeah.
34:17That's proper creepy.
34:19Why?
34:20I got a cough.
34:21Can't just be visual.
34:22What does that mean for you?
34:24Um...
34:25I...
34:26I...
34:27I...
34:28It's almost as if...
34:30Did I not...
34:31Did I not have that on my driving?
34:34You did.
34:35That, again...
34:37I'm taking on water, I think.
34:39Does that say dead?
34:41Peter, did you drown?
34:44Peter, did you drown at sea?
34:47Yeah.
34:48Yeah.
34:49Fine.
34:50Was that yeah?
34:51Something.
34:52Ask again.
34:53Peter, did you drown at sea?
34:56Yeah.
34:57Yeah.
34:58Same.
34:59Same voice.
35:00Same voice twice.
35:02When you passed over to the spirit world, did you...
35:06Was your body brought here?
35:08I'm...
35:09I'm...
35:10Trapped.
35:12Trapped.
35:13I'm trapped.
35:14Where?
35:15Peter.
35:16Peter, do you need help?
35:22Sink.
35:23Sink?
35:24I had to sink.
35:25Mariner.
35:28That was a mariner, was it?
35:30Was that mariner?
35:31It sounded like it.
35:32So Peter has drowned.
35:35So potentially what we're thinking here is that the bodies of those mariners...
35:41Who perished.
35:42Or all those that were sick, injured as a result of the drowning.
35:46Mm-hmm.
35:47Some of their bodies would have come here when they passed.
35:49Yeah.
35:50So his frustration is, what is it?
35:51He know he's dead, but he needs help.
35:53So we need to actually help.
35:54Yeah.
35:55We need to pray.
35:56And we got pray earlier, didn't we?
35:58We did get pray.
35:59Pray for...
36:00Yeah.
36:01Pray for their souls.
36:02We do.
36:03We gather in a circle and through the power of prayer, I'm going to send Peter and Robert
36:09to the light and break Josephine's attachment to the book.
36:13Josephine, please hear my voice.
36:17I want to thank you so much for telling me your story.
36:23We need to break this psychic cord that you have attached to this book.
36:28So please, I say goodbye in the name of Jesus Christ.
36:35Amen.
36:36Amen.
36:37Amen.
36:38Amen.
36:39Dear Father, we pray for the doorway that separates us both to be opened, from our world
36:48into yours.
36:51Robert, you will see a bright light, Robert.
36:55You need to walk forward into that light.
36:58Your conditions, what you suffered, will be gone.
37:13Amen.
37:14In the name of the Father and the Son.
37:18Amen.
37:28The next morning, after reviewing our evidence, we bring back Anthony and Peter.
37:37Good morning.
37:38Good morning.
37:39Did you sleep well?
37:40Well, we had an interesting evening.
37:42So you guys joined us for Spirit Triggers, and we've used an ITC application called SpiritWave.
37:48We got an amazing response, which I'm going to play for you.
37:52Can you tell us who you are?
37:55Peter.
37:56Absolutely incredible response.
37:58Now, from that landing area, we decided to venture upstairs to the top floor, and that's
38:03the attic space.
38:04We got some really interesting responses.
38:07The first response was this.
38:09Josephine.
38:10Oh, yeah.
38:12It was very relevant for us.
38:15I think if you remember at this point, I was tapping into a female.
38:19Oh, about America.
38:20Yeah, a female.
38:21A female in the room with a fur collar.
38:23Yeah.
38:24So she told me she was American.
38:26She told me, like, she traveled here.
38:28So she had a very strong connection.
38:30Yeah.
38:31Now, you guys left us after that.
38:33But we decided to start that main investigation back here in your front room to try and communicate
38:39with any of the spirits that may have been attached to the bones that were found and exhumed from the property.
38:47Whilst we were doing that, Ian sensed the little boy's energy again.
38:51And actually, we captured a very faint EVP response.
38:56Are you buried beneath this church?
39:00Now, there is a whisper there.
39:06You probably can hear the fact...
39:07Just before the end.
39:08Correct.
39:09We played it again and again until we were satisfied that we heard the name Robert.
39:14It was at this stage of the investigation that our producer, Beth, came straight in to let us know that Robert died of his injuries, stomach injuries.
39:24There was like a sea mine that was pulled up, but they pulled it out of the ocean, but it exploded.
39:30He was considered the first casualty of that war in Scarborough.
39:35In Scarborough?
39:36Mm-hmm.
39:37Yeah, that's amazing.
39:38Mm-hmm.
39:39Now, we're not just going to go with psychic feelings.
39:41We need some evidence to back it up.
39:43So, using that ITC application, EchoVox, this is the response.
39:48Tell me directly where that pain was.
39:51To me.
39:52Help.
39:53Me.
39:54I think Peter's right there.
39:55I think I hit...
39:56Oh!
39:57I hit to me.
39:58I hit directly where that pain was.
40:02Help me.
40:03It could be help me or to me.
40:04They sound very similar.
40:05You can hear the end bit.
40:06Yeah, definitely.
40:07Yeah.
40:08Then, we also hear this.
40:11Can you tap on something?
40:13Rest.
40:14So, he wants to be at rest.
40:16He wants to be at peace.
40:17Now, from this part of the investigation, Kat spent some time on her own on the landing.
40:23And again, straight away, we got brilliant responses.
40:27Would you mind telling me your name?
40:30Peter.
40:34Again?
40:35Yeah.
40:36But it gets better.
40:38Peter?
40:40Dead.
40:42Don't.
40:43Dead.
40:44Dead.
40:46It's definitely dead.
40:47Kat asked Peter, did you drown at sea?
40:50And we did get a definite yes response.
40:52Peter, did you drown at sea?
40:55Yeah.
40:56Yeah.
40:57So, just kind of looking through the history of the town, we do know that there were attacks
41:01on the water during the wars.
41:02Mm-hmm.
41:03So, we think, looking at everything collectively, it seemed like some sort of boat accident on the water happened to him.
41:11The final thing I want to play for you here will be this response.
41:15I agree in your voice.
41:16I am.
41:17I am.
41:18I am.
41:19Pro.
41:20Trapped.
41:22Essentially, he's asking us for his help.
41:24Mm-hmm.
41:25So, I don't know whether to thank you or what to say to you both, because Josephine, for me, was somebody I linked with as soon as I walked into this property.
41:34It was a female.
41:35And then, if you remember, you gave us this book, and Josephine, the name, was in the book.
41:42Mm-hmm.
41:43When I was touching the book, it was almost like I was getting these images.
41:47So, it's almost like looking at a video screen and hearing voices, and it was hitting me like that.
41:53That's how powerful it was.
41:55I started to search through American actresses.
41:58We found an actress named Mary Josephine Dunn.
42:03She was an actress born in New York, which also Ian picked up on, in May 1st, 1906.
42:09She died in February 1983 of cancer in California.
42:13The other thing Ian picked up on, he said her husband's name is William.
42:16Her first husband was William.
42:19That's Bill.
42:20Bill.
42:21Yes.
42:22Exactly.
42:23Well picked up.
42:24This book here, which Ian's got now, is I think it might have come from the States.
42:29No.
42:30Wow.
42:31Really?
42:32And I'm only just having this epiphanous moment right now.
42:34I think it might have come from the States.
42:37Oh my gosh.
42:38We came away knowing that we had three spirits that needed our help.
42:44Peter, who we believe drowned at sea, but also you have Robert, a young boy that was also asking for help.
42:53So I roped up and I said some prayers for Peter and I sent him to the light and he was happy and he was at peace.
43:03Good for Peter.
43:04Wonderful.
43:05So I needed to sether that link with Josephine and I asked her to go back and be with her loved ones, friends and family.
43:13And then Robert, he walked into the light and as he was walking forward, his conditions, his tummy pain left him.
43:21So the house is at rest, the house is at peace.
43:24Job done.
43:25Very good. Thank you.
43:26Thank you so much.
43:27That's fascinating.
43:29It's another successful outcome for the team.
43:32Job well done team.
43:33I am still blown away by Ian's reading.
43:35I still feel a connection to Josephine.
43:38But who knows what the next case will bring.
43:41So I got to keep your message, and get out every day.
