00:00Hopefully, the latest version of this enlightening list can shed some much-needed light on everything
00:05from a lack of certain Sith characteristics to exactly what happened to specific characters
00:11in between movies. This galaxy can sometimes be a bit of a confusing place, folks, but your days
00:17of being baffled by the following questions are about to come to an end. Because I am Gareth here
00:23from WhatCultureStarWars and here are 8 even more Star Wars questions that always confused you.
00:298. Where did Poe go after that crash? Not too long after meeting Finn during the
00:35opening stages of The Force Awakens, Resistance pilot Poe Dameron teamed up with the defecting
00:40Stormtrooper, with the two making their great escape from a First Order Star Destroyer and
00:45heading for Jakku. Only before they could land on the desert planet, their TIE fighter was blasted
00:51out of the sky. And it was in this moment when fans assumed either Poe had been ejected from the
00:56falling ship or shockingly died within the film's opening act. Bummer. Poe was ultimately revealed
01:03to have survived the crash, of course, meeting back up with his pal and BB-8 at the Resistance base
01:09later on in Episode 7. But that reunion still didn't give fans the answer to where in the hell he'd been
01:15in the time since that Jakku crash landing. Those only came when sitting down to read Alan Dean Foster's
01:21novelization of The Force Awakens. Instead of being ejected from the falling aircraft like Finn,
01:26Poe actually remained in the cockpit until the ship hit the ground. He was then thrust from the ship,
01:32leaving only his jacket behind. After being knocked out from the impact, he woke up to find he was on
01:37his own. But he'd then bump into a Blurina scavenger named Naka'Eat, with Poe then helping him take
01:44down some thieves and earning himself a ride back to the Resistance from one of Eat's mates.
01:48So you have Naka'Eat to thank for Starkiller Base eventually being blown to bits.
01:53Number 7. How did Captain Phasma get off Starkiller Base?
01:57Captain Phasma looked to have perished on Starkiller Base towards the end of Episode 7.
02:02After all, the First Order Chrome Dome had been dumped in the base's trash compactor by Finn,
02:07Han Solo and Chewbacca after lowering the superweapon's shield. So it was only natural to assume she was
02:13very much doomed when said base was royally blown to smithereens by Poe, Dameron and co. in The Force
02:19Awakens. But Phasma was suddenly back throwing down with Finn one film later, with it only being
02:24revealed in a 2015 comic miniseries known as Star Wars Captain Phasma exactly how she escaped certain
02:31death. Said Resistance bombing of the base actually blew a hole in the trash compactor,
02:36and Phasma then proceeded to frame fellow Officer Saul Rivas for the fateful shield-lowering act.
02:41She then hopped in a TIE fighter before the whole place went kaboom.
02:45Not stopping there though, Phasma then made it her mission to track down Rivas after he also
02:50escaped, killing him and successfully covering her tracks in the process.
02:54While the flicks may not have showcased quite how ruthless this First Order captain could really be
02:59on her day, this comic book definitely highlighted how far she was willing to go to survive.
03:04Number 6. How did Palpatine choose Anakin's Sith name?
03:08While George Lucas may have landed on the name Darth Vader after taking the Dutch word for father,
03:13and opting for a word that wasn't that far away from dark, it's never really explained on screen
03:18why Darth Sidious randomly decided to eventually use this iconic title when renaming the Chosen One
03:24in Revenge of the Sith. Other than it sounding both ridiculously cool, and utterly terrifying as far
03:29as new Sith handles go. But that random pause you see during Episode 3, when Big Bad palps his moments
03:35away from giving Anakin Skywalker the name of Vader, actually contained the answers you've been
03:40searching for. In fact, according to the film's novelization, written by Matthew Stover, Sidious
03:46actually took a brief moment to ask the dark side of the Force to guide him in the naming of his new
03:51apprentice. And after receiving an answer dark as the gap between galaxies, Skywalker was soon given
03:57the moniker of Vader before being sent to wipe out some younglings in the Jedi Temple.
04:02This particular novelization may technically fall into the Legends stories, but with there being no
04:07other canon explanation behind why Sidious took one look at his new apprentice and thought,
04:11ah yes, dark father, this creepy Force chat is as close to a definitive answer as Star Wars fans are
04:17probably ever gonna get.
04:18Number 5. What happened to Sabe?
04:21Remember when Keira Knightley suddenly popped up in The Phantom Menace? Revealing that her character of
04:25Sabe had actually been playing Queen Padme Amidala's decoy all along? And then she just suddenly
04:31disappeared from the on-screen Skywalker saga altogether. Well, it turns out that this loyal
04:36Amidala handmaiden actually continued to serve her queen throughout the remainder of her time
04:41leading Naboo, even freeing some slaves on Tatooine for Padme. She then ended up leading an investigation
04:47into Amidala's mysterious death after Revenge of the Sith alongside a bunch of Naboo loyalists known
04:53as the Amidalans. But wait, there's more. During the Star Wars Darth Vader Marvel comic series,
04:58a now-rebel Sabe and Darth Vader himself end up crossing paths sometime after the Empire
05:04strikes back, with the fallen Jedi also seeking answers about his secret late wife's demise.
05:10The Dark Lord of the Sith bizarrely even teamed up with his dear Padme's lookalike for a spell,
05:15and Sabe actually figured out exactly who was hiding under that helmet before choosing to stick
05:20with Vader due to her belief that there was still some good in him. A lot of good that did her in the end.
05:25After eventually demanding Sabe to choose either power or suffering, with that first option pretty
05:30much meaning she joined the dark side, Amidala's loyal handmaiden opts for the latter and is
05:35shockingly thrown into the ocean. So that's what happened to Sabe.
05:39Number 4. Why did Qui-Gon not survive his wounds?
05:43With Disney Plus' latest live-action Star Wars series Ahsoka unleashing yet another sudden
05:48stab-to-the-stomach moment that doesn't result in a major character being undoubtedly killed,
05:53fans will no doubt be quick to once again point at the sign which reads,
05:57Why didn't Qui-Gon Jinn survive his Phantom Menace wounds?
06:00Well, there's actually a number of reasons. Unlike the sliced-in-half Maul, for example,
06:05this Jedi Master didn't choose to remain amongst the living by drawing on the strength of hatred
06:09and anger. He instead found peace in becoming one with the Force after being skewered by the
06:14Dathomirian. Another reason behind Qui-Gon not surviving his wounds like Sabine Wren,
06:19and Reva Savanda though, comes down to the fact that this powerful Jedi was actually stabbed in
06:24a far more lethal way. Whereas Wren and Reva were struck in areas of the torso that weren't fatal,
06:30Jinn was pierced right in his center, with a Star Wars fan who just so happened to be a
06:35physician on Reddit, noting how Obi-Wan Kenobi's Master was cut straight through his spine and
06:40aorta by Maul on Naboo. And no amount of nights in a nearby medical facility would be able to repair
06:46that sort of horrendous damage. 3. What Happened to the Geonosians
06:50Despite being arguably the most memorable fully computer-generated species on show in the prequels,
06:56alongside the Gungans of course, the Geonosian race seen during the multiple battles of Geonosis
07:01and elsewhere in the galaxy at the time, seemed to bizarrely disappear by the time A New Hope goes
07:06down almost two decades later. The alien creatures who helped design the Death Star didn't just go into
07:12hiding after the events of Revenge of the Sith though. They actually ended up being enslaved
07:16by the new Empire, and it being forced to build this intimidating new space station wasn't bad
07:21enough. Once the Death Star's hyperdrive was fully operational, Grand Moff Tarkin gave the order to
07:26sterilize the planet of Geonosis using Imperial gas canisters. Yep, it's as horrific as it sounds.
07:32In the end, the Empire wiped out all but one of the bug-like species to keep their superweapon a
07:38secret, meaning that a shocking 100 billion aliens were murdered during what was classed as the worst
07:44genocide ever committed by the big bad force in the galaxy. Outside of click-clack seen during the
07:50Rebels animated series, and a soul queen egg that would eventually hatch and be revealed as sterile,
07:55this race were completely eradicated after the Empire decided they were no longer needed.
08:012. Why Didn't Zam Wessel Just Shapeshift and Stay Hidden from Anakin and Obi-Wan
08:05After her attempts to take out Padme Amidala were foiled by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi
08:11during Attack of the Clones, Clawdite bounty hunter Zam Wessel eventually fled into the Outlander
08:16club on Coruscant. However, the fact Wessel, disguised as a humanoid at this moment, then
08:21proceeded to try and fail to catch Kenobi by surprise within the establishment, soon left
08:26many Star Wars fans scratching their heads. If this alien had the ability to simply change into
08:31another humanoid, why didn't she just do that and disappear from her pursuers?
08:35Well, after years of wondering what Wessel was thinking in foolishly sticking around long enough
08:40to be caught by the Jedi, and eventually assassinated by Jango Fett, a recent Star Wars
08:45Secrets of the Bounty Hunters book finally offered an explanation. She was out for revenge!
08:50As seen in the character's bio within said book, Wessel could have very much chosen to blend into the
08:55crowd as another humanoid. But the pages reveal that, for some, revenge is just as rewarding as
09:01a pile of credits. Wessel could not resist the chance to strike bad at the Jedi who had ruined
09:06her job. Hilariously, the book then goes on to add that trying to sneak up on someone who has
09:11mastered the Force never ends well. You can say that again.
09:151. Why didn't Dooku have yellow eyes like other Sith?
09:18What did Darth Vader, Maul, and Sidious all have in common? They, like so many Sith, have each
09:24showcased some particularly unsettling yellow eyes at various points in the Star Wars timeline.
09:30However, one Sith Lord who didn't show off this specific trait during the prequel trilogy anywhere
09:34near as often as those powerful Darkseid users was none other than the mighty Count Dooku.
09:40But why did Darth Tyrannus' eyes only very rarely burn yellow? As seen on the odd occasion in the
09:45Clone Wars animated series, during his time as a Darkseid of the Force practitioner. Well,
09:50it's actually noted in Star Wars The Visual Encyclopedia that eyes are windows to the soul
09:56in this galaxy, and that when rage and anger seethe inside a Darkseid user, their eyes may
10:02burn yellow with a fiery red rim. In other words, when a Sith is pierced, you can literally see it
10:08in their eyes. And while the powerful Emperor Palpatine was seemingly able to conceal his distinct
10:13yellow eyeballs when manipulating the galaxy as Chancellor, it's more likely that Dooku didn't boast those same
10:19colored eyes as often due to the fact his motivations weren't as rooted in anger and hatred as the
10:25rest of the aforementioned Sith. Instead, he simply felt the Jedi had lost sight of what was important
10:30and was largely attempting to stamp out the corruption in the Senate rather than conquer
10:34the galaxy. Before eventually being cut down in front of his own master, Dooku was seemingly not
10:40driven by anger and pain as much as some of Sidious' other apprentices when shooting lightning from his
10:45hands and clashing with his former Jedi brothers. Hence why his eyes rarely went full freaky Sith.
