France will help the Palestinian Authority draft a constitution for a future state, President Emmanuel Macron said after talks with Mahmoud Abbas in Paris, pledging €100mil in Gaza aid.

00:07President Emmanuel Macron says France and the Palestinian Authority, which governs parts of the Israeli-occupied West Bank,
00:13are forming a joint committee to prepare the document.
00:18He explained that the committee will address all legal aspects, including constitutional, institutional and organizational matters.
00:26Macron added that the process will build on an existing draft presented by President Mahmoud Abbas
00:31and aims to establish the full condition necessary for the creation of a state of Palestine.
00:37France will also provide more than US$116 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza next year.
00:43Paris' recent decision to recognize a Palestinian state, joined by Britain, Canada and Australia,
00:49brings them in line with over 140 nations supporting Palestinian statehood.
00:54US President Donald Trump criticized the move, saying it would serve as a reward to Hamas.
