Nagarjuna Defamation Case Update :Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna’s family controversy has taken a dramatic new turn. Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, who earlier made controversial remarks about Nagarjuna’s family, has now publicly apologized through her official X (Twitter) account.
In her midnight post, Surekha wrote that her comments were never meant to hurt Nagarjuna Garu or his family members. She clarified that she had no intention to damage their reputation and sincerely apologized if her words caused them any emotional distress. This tweet quickly went viral on social media, drawing massive reactions from both political and film circles.
Interestingly, this apology comes just a day before the Nampally Special Court hearing on the defamation case filed by Nagarjuna. The court has already issued notices under Criminal Defamation Section 356, and the next hearing is scheduled for November 13, 2025 (Thursday). Many see Surekha’s sudden apology as a strategic move — both legally and politically.
The controversy began when Minister Surekha, while commenting on Telangana politics, referred to Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce, which many felt insulted Nagarjuna’s family. In response, Nagarjuna filed a defamation case, submitting video clips and social media links as evidence.

"నాగార్జున గారు, ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులపై నేను చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు వారిని బాధపెట్టాలనే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో చెప్పినవి కావు. వారి పరువుకు భంగం కలిగించాలనే ఉద్దేశం నాకు అసలు లేదు. నా మాటల వలన ఎవరైనా మనస్తాపానికి గురై ఉంటే దానికి చింతిస్తున్నాను. ఆ వ్యాఖ్యలను ఉపసంహరించుకుంటున్నాను" అని పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఈ ట్వీట్ సోషల్ మీడియాలో వైరల్ గా మారింది.
అలాగే ఈ అంశం చర్చనీయంగా మారింది. ఎందుకంటే, రేపు (గురువారం) నాంపల్లి స్పెషల్ కోర్టులో నాగార్జున దాఖలు చేసిన పరువునష్టం పిటిషన్ పై విచారణ జరగనుంది. విచారణకు ముందు రోజు సురేఖ చేసిన ఈ పోస్టు రాజకీయ వర్గాల్లో, సినీ సర్కిల్స్‌లో హాట్ టాపిక్‌గా మారింది. నాంపల్లి స్పెషల్ కోర్టులో ఈ కేసుపై విచారణ ఇప్పటికే ప్రారంభమైంది. కోర్టు క్రిమినల్ డిఫమేషన్ సెక్షన్ 356 కింద సురేఖపై నోటీసులు జారీ చేసింది. ఈ పిటిషన్‌పై 2025 నవంబర్ 13న (గురువారం) మళ్లీ విచారణ జరగనుంది. ఈ విచారణకు ముందు రోజే మంత్రి సురేఖ "క్షమాపణలు" చెబుతూ, తన వ్యాఖ్యలను వెనక్కి తీసుకోవడం - రాజకీయంగా, న్యాయపరంగా కూడా వ్యూహాత్మక చర్యగా భావిస్తున్నారు.
