00:00Traces of You
00:03Lender like a teary rock
00:06Fresh upon the air
00:10Sears for you
00:12Plain like a rain like
00:15Shines upon the air
00:19I think on Traces of You I did approach the album as an album as a whole
00:25as opposed to a series of songs
00:27and there was a journey that was taking place
00:30and a lot of that was not conscious
00:32a lot of it was just happening as we made the album
00:35you know life kind of took a journey of its own
00:37and the music followed that shape
00:57I think the sitar sort of leads the album like a narrator in a way
01:03and takes the listener through a journey of many different sounds and textures and flavours
01:08and to me that is kind of like the narrator telling a story
01:11to take place
01:13the song plays
01:14for me it was just that idea of what are you doing
01:18in the last decade of the author's article
01:20you've been able to write a story
01:21and if you are you're a professional
01:23you are a little bit different
01:24before you work with the author's article
01:25you've been able to write a story
01:26and you have to write a story
01:27and you've been able to write a story
01:28so it's one hymn to book
02:20I worked with an amazing producer, so working with Nitin Soni meant that I was working with someone who's very used to doing that and fusing many different styles of music and being very strong in different genre.
02:50And the two of us together both come from that kind of world where we do approach, you know, modern and ancient sounds, classical, edgy, multicultural.
03:03And so that was a very easy communication for us.
03:07If I've used vocalists before, I've used many vocalists through an album, each one to express something different or represent a different sound.
03:20And on this album, it felt important to create more cohesion because there were already so many stylistic elements and I thought if there's going to be a vocalist, it should just be one voice that comes back through the album to help create that connection.
03:38And, of course, that had to be Nora.
03:40The sun won't set.
03:42Now, now, not yet.
03:45And, you know, I just love her voice so dearly and the way she expresses things is so, with so much restraint and leaving so much to the imagination, you know, but she really could bring to life these lyrics that I'd written in a way that felt...
04:13That was the only way it could be really.
04:15I suppose it's absolutely appropriate then to say that that was about my father because it then became about my father once he passed away.
04:26But I'd already written the lyrics more in an eternal kind of universal sense.
04:31And so it is about the listener.
04:32It is about, you know, the birth of my son, the death of my father, falling in love with my husband or, you know, having tea with a friend.
04:42It is about the street corner, you know, it's just that we are all a product of each other, really.
04:47And room gameplay with this is all?
04:48So I'm not asking for that, that we should be university.
04:53We will get out of here then darling then to watch me write to be a fool, isn't it?
04:54Oh, my God too.
04:56It is about my father's to be a man on his own.
04:58And out of here like when he sees you, and knowing back it's all an olabilir thatحilsВ cup's middle place is they'll be taking us to see you.
05:04But it's too bright that I'm able to show you.
05:08But it's too bright that i wanna just cut out and look around, I really want to see you in this right now.
