00:00This is Warner Brothers Studios England.
00:04Currently home to a baking contest, all playing out amongst the original sets
00:09featured in eight unforgettable movies.
00:13Last time, the teams were challenged to bring the Hogwarts houses to life.
00:18Better be... Gryffindor!
00:23Six teams dazzled the judges and moved on in the competition.
00:28Oh!
00:30Coming up, they'll travel to another iconic Harry Potter location.
00:36Bakers, welcome to Platform 93 Quarters!
00:40And meet a very special guest.
00:43This show has been eye-opening.
00:47But with these conductors in charge, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
00:54What are you doing down there?
00:55Come on, hop on board. Next stop, Wizards of Bacon, Chapter 2.
01:15Greetings, Bakers!
01:16Welcome to the night bus, emergency transport for Stranded Baker.
01:26My name is Oliver Phelps and this is my brother James.
01:31And we will be your conductors for the evening.
01:34Well, we're here to get things moving.
01:39Moving being the operative word.
01:42Because this fine-looking triple-decker night bus
01:46is just one of the many magical ways
01:49to navigate through the world of Harry Potter.
01:52But the muggles, can't they see us?
01:55Muggles?
01:56They don't see nothing, do they?
01:58So, if you want to get your sticky mitts
01:59on the Wizards of Baking trophy,
02:00for your next challenge,
02:01you'll need to bake a showpiece inspired by that theme.
02:06Transport.
02:08You'll have just six hours to conjure up a creation
02:11that traverses the amazing world of Harry Potter.
02:15All right.
02:16So, let's get a riddle on.
02:18Follow us.
02:19It's going to be a bumpy ride.
02:21And then the baking begins!
02:23Woo!
02:25A little flucking.
02:27Where are we going?
02:28Do you want to do the honors?
02:29Yeah.
02:30Ooh!
02:31Hagrid's motorbike, a magical motorbike
02:33that way back when we were in the world
02:35was the first time of Harry Potter.
02:36It was the first time of Harry Potter.
02:37It was the first time of Harry Potter.
02:38It was the first time of Harry Potter.
02:39A magical motorbike that way back when
02:41delivered baby Harry Potter to the Dursleys.
02:43Start your engines.
02:44Ooh!
02:45That's going to be a fun one.
02:47Yes!
02:48We got the night pass.
02:49Amazing.
02:50The Vanishing Cabinet.
02:52Yes!
02:53The red telephone box.
02:54A gateway for visitors into the Ministry of Magic.
02:57Amazing.
02:58That's really good.
02:59The Weasleys flying car.
03:02The White Hole underground public toilet.
03:05God.
03:09And don't forget to flush.
03:12Okay.
03:13Okay.
03:14I haven't made a toilet.
03:15No, funnily enough.
03:16No, I haven't either.
03:17Okay.
03:18It's a funny one.
03:19I mean, we got to go big with this bus, right?
03:21We really do.
03:22Oh, look!
03:23We have some inspiration here at the kitchen.
03:25That's the scene, actually, yeah.
03:26All right.
03:27I think we should do, like, the bridge.
03:28Okay.
03:29And the car together.
03:30Hello, bakers!
03:31Hi!
03:32No, you're not seeing things.
03:33There are usually two of us.
03:34But as my mum will tell you, I've got the more punctual genes.
03:50For some added enchantment, we want your creations to give the illusion of movement.
03:59Okay.
04:00And this time, you're serving your showpieces on the set of platform nine and three quarters.
04:05Wow.
04:06Oh, it's gonna be fun.
04:07It's gonna be awesome.
04:08It's the gateway to glorious Great Britain.
04:10We want your creations to contain a traditional British flavour.
04:15Ooh!
04:16Pudding!
04:17Get your puddings right here!
04:21Roll it!
04:22Don't be shy!
04:23Come and try some classic British desserts.
04:26Heather and Kate, my little treacle, have some treacle tart right here.
04:31Oh, I would love to.
04:33I've never had it before.
04:34Thank God I have this pastry genius here to lean on to help develop those flavours,
04:40because I have no idea where to start.
04:42None.
04:43Heather, I hate to break it to you, but I also have never had a treacle tart before.
04:48Don't tell me!
04:49I'm so sorry.
04:50Andy and Stefan.
04:51Yes.
04:52Eat and mess, sirs.
04:55Molly and Priya.
04:56Battenberg!
04:57Don't be square!
04:59Amazing.
05:00It's the kind of thing that reminds me of my gran.
05:01She would have fit at her house.
05:02Santa's favourites.
05:03Mince pies.
05:04I've lived in England, so I know a lot of these English desserts that are coming out.
05:08Mince pie, I love eating them at Christmas time, because I love all of the flavours.
05:12Andy, Louie, face your eyes on this rhubarb crumble.
05:16Ooh!
05:17Yum!
05:18And Jenny and Alex, Victoria sponge, fit for a queen.
05:22Ooh!
05:23Thank you very much.
05:24That's amazing.
05:25So, James!
05:26Use this classic dessert as the inspiration for your flavours.
05:31Mmm.
05:32Don't worry, I've saved a spotted dick for myself.
05:35All right, dig in.
05:36Let's do it.
05:37Oh, this is going to be good.
05:38So, you've got a little bit of cake.
05:39You've got that vanilla sponge.
05:40Mmm.
05:41Very light.
05:42Mm-hmm.
05:43I don't understand it at all, but I think I like it.
05:44It's interesting.
05:45I think some of these bakers have never even heard of some of these puddings.
05:46That alone tried them.
05:47Mmm.
05:48Some very confused looks.
05:49Brandy.
05:50Mm-hmm.
05:51Mmm.
05:52Some dried fruits.
05:53Where's the mints?
05:54No actual chunks of beef.
05:55It's not a burger pie.
05:56It's not a pot pie.
05:57It's a mints pie.
05:58Well, whatever it is, it tastes good.
05:59Is this your first time trying this?
06:00Your first time trying rhubarb.
06:01We're making a toilet, Alex.
06:02Yeah?
06:03It has to flush.
06:04Okay.
06:05Otherwise, what's the point?
06:06Do you know what would be amazing?
06:07Maybe to put the...
06:08Oh, yeah.
06:09Oh, yeah.
06:10Oh, yeah.
06:11Oh, yeah.
06:12Oh, yeah.
06:13Oh, yeah.
06:14Oh, yeah.
06:15Oh, yeah.
06:16Oh, yeah.
06:17Oh, yeah.
06:18Oh, yeah.
06:19Oh, yeah.
06:20Oh, yeah.
06:21Oh, yeah.
06:22Amazing.
06:23Maybe to put the...
06:24Oh, the flushing chain.
06:25Yeah?
06:26The flushing chain off here.
06:27And that way the judges can pull it out.
06:28Yes, yes.
06:29And then the hand.
06:30So what's going to get flushed down the loo, Alex?
06:32The hand.
06:33A hand.
06:34There you go.
06:35We're going to be making a toilet sat on a fireplace.
06:37To hide our tasting element, I'm going to make some wafer paper flames and a flushing
06:41chain and toilet roll.
06:43This is one of the weirdest days of my life.
06:45It is my first time making a chocolate toilet, but I'm going to make it look so real.
06:51I'm going to make this a marble finish.
06:54I'm hugging the toilet bowl.
06:57It's been a few years since I've done that, but...
07:00Hey, Rui, what did you get?
07:02Weasley car.
07:03Are you sure you don't want to swap it for a toilet?
07:06The toilet.
07:07Does anybody want to swap for a toilet?
07:10If anyone should have gotten the toilet, I'm glad it's you.
07:14So we have eaten mass.
07:16We wanted to elevate that and to take it somewhere different that maybe the judges have never
07:19tried before.
07:20Of course, the cream, I'm actually using clotted cream for another sort of British twist.
07:24We're going to have layers of meringue.
07:26We're going to have some tarragon cremu.
07:28We're going to have a strawberry compote.
07:29And I've got a lot to do.
07:30I've not made life simple for myself.
07:32So we're going to just push through and get all these different layers made, prepared,
07:35ready to go.
07:36Andy, Stefan, Stefan, you're bobbing around like a madman.
07:39We've got a lot on this challenge for sure.
07:41And a very complex tasting element as well.
07:43What's complex about eat and mess?
07:45When you present eat and mess as an eyeball, it becomes a different game.
07:48So that's what we're planning to do today.
07:50A what?
07:51An eyeball?
07:52Yeah.
07:53So are we talking the eyeballs being actual life size?
07:55It's probably a bit larger.
07:56Maybe like an eyeball of a donkey.
08:00Right, okay.
08:01The famous Harry Potter creature.
08:03The Harry Potter donkey, yeah.
08:04What was your mode of transport that you've got?
08:07The vanishing cabinet.
08:08So what we'll do is kind of start it at the Room of Requirement where we saw the vanishing
08:13cabinet from the scene where Draco is like practicing on the vanishing cabinet.
08:17Yes.
08:18And he like takes the tarp off of it.
08:20So our showpiece will spin around to reveal the sister location of Borgin and Berks.
08:26There's a lot of different items, all the keys and the gems.
08:29We want to bring it to life.
08:31And to do that, we have to really load it up just like the store is.
08:34Sure.
08:35I think it's going to take a lot of work to kind of create all those different elements.
08:38But I think that if we can pull it off, it's going to be really cool to see.
08:41Yeah.
08:42Excellent.
08:43Well, we'll keep an eye on what you guys are up to.
08:44Ah!
08:45Good luck.
08:46We'll see you later.
08:47See you soon.
08:48Cheers, guys.
08:49This is Eat and Mess Eyeball.
08:50We take some coca butter, black, for the little center of the eye.
08:54Some blue, which you spray on.
08:55The most delicious eyeball known to man.
08:57Are you sure?
08:58Have you tried eyeball?
08:59I actually have not tried many eyeballs, to be fair, so...
09:03That's done.
09:04Eyeballs molded.
09:05Nice.
09:06Teams!
09:07You have five hours to finish your buses, your bikes.
09:12I'm scared.
09:13Your toilets.
09:14Kate, if you're okay, I'm going to take over the treacle filling for you.
09:19That sounds great.
09:20We were assigned the treacle tart.
09:22So I'm still using the classic short crust, but reimagining it as a Milfoy style.
09:26Milfoy means many layers.
09:28It's very French.
09:29I went to the French pastry school in Chicago and I fell in love with it immediately.
09:34It's great to be paired with a classically trained baker because I wouldn't have a clue on how to properly make that crust.
09:40I want to make my short crust thin, trying to stay true to the inspiration while still trying to make it my own.
09:47I'm going to get started on the lemon custard.
09:50The night bus is a giant piece.
09:52For our illusion of movement, we're going to have the night bus drive down the bridge just like it does in the movies.
09:58With a hill that is made out of cake atop the lit up bridge.
10:01We're planning on walking a really fine line between going real big and going just over that line to making it too big.
10:09Come on.
10:10I'm like losing my mind.
10:12I'm worried that I wrote my recipe wrong when I scaled it.
10:16I'm realizing that my quantities are way off and there is this way too much sugar and it makes my custard just really, really, really thin.
10:25How, what am I, oh my god.
10:27We don't have room or time for any mistakes like this.
10:30How can I help?
10:31I don't know.
10:36I'm determined to try and salvage this cream.
10:39So, hope and a prayer, I'm adding some extra egg yolk to try and thicken it up.
10:43The risk here is that if we go too far, then we'll have to start it over.
10:46I can really see this custard coming together.
10:49I'm feeling pretty confident about it.
10:51I think this might be okay.
10:52You want a taste?
10:53Sorry, I just came at you real hard with that.
10:56That's delicious.
10:57Thanks.
10:58Oh my god.
10:59No more mistakes.
11:00That's it.
11:01Molly.
11:02How are you so fast?
11:03That thing was naked a minute ago.
11:05I know.
11:06I am spraying green and black on acetate.
11:08I want to create that green black gradient tile that you see in the Ministry of Magic.
11:13And then spread my chocolate really thin.
11:16The transfer of color is really going to come through.
11:19It is Ministry of Magic Glory.
11:22Molly, Priya.
11:23Hi.
11:24I see a phone box coming together.
11:25Yes.
11:26So, let's go back 15 years.
11:28How did you start making cakes?
11:30So, I was a special effects artist and I used to do makeup, prosthetics, airbrushing
11:35for weddings or for special effects or for body painting.
11:38And then I started using it, just messing about on cakes with food coloring.
11:42Oh, wow.
11:43And for some reason, here I am.
11:44Are the cakes a bit less temperamental then than brides on their wedding day or anything like that?
11:48Cakes aren't looking at you.
11:49There's not as much pressure.
11:51Priya, how did you get into chocolate?
11:53I was previously a hair stylist.
11:55My family was part of a wildfire evacuation and we moved quickly, suddenly to a new environment
12:01and decided to take a fresh start.
12:04Chocolate wasn't like anything else that I've done before and so it was exciting and new
12:09and so I really leaned into that and I'm glad.
12:12Never looked back.
12:13Nice.
12:14So, where's the tasting element going to go?
12:16How are you going to build it up?
12:17Instead of your classic Battenberg, we're going to do chocolate and mint.
12:20With the chocolate and mint flavors, we're really pulling inspiration from the tiles inside
12:24the Ministry of Magic, which are black and green.
12:26Yes.
12:27So, we're going to make the tasting element into a desk.
12:29We are making the main focal point inside, which is the statue.
12:33We've made the iconic green tiles from the Ministry of Magic.
12:36So, I think it's all really going to come together nicely.
12:39I think that it's really honoring the classics, but maybe taking our own little spin on it.
12:44I mean, after all, Harry is awaiting judge-ment.
12:48Right.
12:49Okay.
12:50That was her joke, by the way.
12:51I was going to say.
12:52That's it.
12:53I like it.
12:54Hey, Zha-Zha.
12:55Yeah?
12:56How do you spell gentleman?
12:57D-E-N-T-L-E-M-E-N.
13:02Teams!
13:03You have four hours to finish your buses, your bikes, your toilets.
13:08Yay!
13:09So, we made this armature of handlebars and just coating it in chocolate.
13:13Then we're going to do modeling chocolate over the top to really make all of the details.
13:18I have a lot of work to do.
13:20For a showpiece, it's inspired by Hagrid's legendary motorbike inside car.
13:24We want to make the motorbike to look like it's soaring through the night sky.
13:27I'm a chocolatier.
13:28This is my time to shine.
13:29I'm excited to be on here and I get to make with Zha-Zha a motorcycle out of chocolate.
13:34My stepmom was a chef and once I was old enough, like eight, she'd be like,
13:39okay, you have two hands, you can roll a truffle.
13:41And that is still what I'm doing 25 years later.
13:45That's incredible.
13:46Ooh, that's really shiny though.
13:48Congrats.
13:52This is a puzzle.
13:54Tubes.
13:55Headlight back.
13:56Isomalt front.
13:57You know, I really am a lot like Hermione.
14:00All I care about is, like, doing the job, doing it correctly.
14:04It's going to be a very heavy piece.
14:06There's no room for error, you know.
14:08There's things we've got to cut, things we've got to layer.
14:10Things can snap and there's no time to fix this.
14:12This is going to be a really big challenge because, you know, these fat fingers, you know,
14:16it's sometimes tricky.
14:19Yeah, it's looking cool.
14:21Try to make this as detailed as possible.
14:24Katie, you like it?
14:25I absolutely love it.
14:27We are presenting the Weasley car.
14:31It's magical.
14:32It flies.
14:33Rui, it's doing the chocolate bridge.
14:36And then I'm doing the car on top.
14:39So first I need to cover all the car in fondant before putting the lights and all the little details.
14:47So cool.
14:48So I just got scent and gum, calcium gluconate, sodium alginate, and citric acid.
14:56I don't know any of those things.
14:59For the tasting element, we are making a mousse of custard with cooling agent.
15:03So I always try to go with a different molecular technique in every challenge.
15:08All my family, friends are for sure fingers-crossing for me, especially my cat, Bougie cat.
15:14Bougie cat.
15:15Bougie cat.
15:16Bougie cat.
15:17He has a Prada necklace.
15:18Oh, please.
15:19What's the menthol going into?
15:21You know it's not mint, it's a cooling agent.
15:24Ooh.
15:25So it's just the cold sensation coming up.
15:28Be my guest.
15:34Is it enough?
15:35Yes.
15:36Oh, it's so good.
15:37So I'm adding this ginger streusel.
15:39The cooling agent is in the mousse.
15:41It looks like a book of spells.
15:43And then on top, the rhubarb and the imbiscous.
15:46The explosive sphere.
15:47Okay.
15:48So when they cut, it kind of like...
15:49Yeah.
15:50That's cold.
15:53Jujar!
15:54How's everything coming along for you?
15:55I've done my cloud base, and Katie's working on the bike.
15:59It's all about the details.
16:01Oh, yeah.
16:02So right now, I'm just molding some isomalt gems to kind of go throughout the cake.
16:08Just another one of the elements that are in the shop.
16:10I wanted to create some elements you would see in the actual shops.
16:15Then I make a bunch of skulls using chocolate.
16:17Just like by...
16:18Oh, that's sick.
16:19That is perfect.
16:20Because it's antique.
16:21Age some of them, dust some of them, just to kind of give us some variety throughout the piece.
16:27I think we're both optimists, really.
16:29Yeah.
16:30I think we've got a positive outlook and...
16:31I think we're...
16:32Yeah.
16:33I think we're both, like, glass half full people.
16:34Yes.
16:35It just kind of keeps us in the right head space.
16:38Victory!
16:40Right now, I'm unmolding my chocolate toilet seat.
16:45I wanted to make it look like marble.
16:48It doesn't look like...
16:49At the moment, it doesn't look marbleized.
16:50It just looks dirty.
16:51Hey, Jenny!
16:52Alex!
16:53I thought it was looking like marble.
16:56Jenny told me, like, it is...
16:57It may look a bit like an unfortunate toilet.
17:00Yeah, yeah.
17:01I don't know.
17:02It's an unfortunate colour choice, I thought.
17:03Yeah.
17:04I mean, I have been in a few like that over the years.
17:06Jenny, you're making toilet paper over there.
17:08Yes, yes, I am.
17:10Do you want to get the smell?
17:11It's just an edible wafer.
17:13And it's got a little bit of rose.
17:14Don't blow it, though.
17:15Don't blow your nose.
17:17This is...
17:18This is the weirdest thing I've ever done.
17:20So, you've obviously got a mishra side to you.
17:22Yeah.
17:23Tell us some stories.
17:24So, did you know I was a vicar's wife?
17:26Did you know I'm a vicar's wife?
17:27I did, yeah.
17:28Did you know?
17:29When I met my vicar husband, I was living next door to him.
17:32He's my next-door neighbour.
17:33Now, I could not resist yelling over the garden fence.
17:36And I was like, oi, vicar!
17:38Fancy a drink?
17:39And he went, oh, that's okay, then.
17:41And that was how we met.
17:43Alex.
17:44Yeah?
17:45Jenny's sense of humour, is it rubbing off on you?
17:47We are competing for the Wizards of Baking Cup, so I cannot do much.
17:51No, no, I do love Jenny.
17:52No, no.
17:54I love Jenny.
17:56We have a lot of violently purple busts to cover.
18:00It's time to hammer down the busts.
18:02Get the purple fondant on it.
18:04Get those windows cut out.
18:06Really want side panel to just be heavily detailed.
18:09I know that's going to eat up a lot of time.
18:11I am a little worried that we've gone too big, but at the same time, it's the triple-decker busts.
18:17I love me some pressure.
18:19I feel like we've got to do it big.
18:21I think it's worth the risk.
18:23I didn't leave my business for three weeks to not win.
18:26To be able to bring home the trophy, the sense of pride that I would bring to my team members.
18:33Right now, I have a team of near 35 at my bakery, and to bring that joy to the community of Rochester.
18:39I can't wait to make everybody emotional.
18:43Make everybody proud.
18:46Keep it moving.
18:47Only three hours to go.
18:49Three hours.
18:50Oh, my God.
18:51Only three hours.
18:53What's that?
18:57Oh, my God.
19:02Something's happening.
19:13Well, wouldn't you know it?
19:15It's Seamus Finnegan himself, Devon Murray.
19:18Hey, guys.
19:19Oh, my God.
19:20Oh, my God.
19:22Devon, great to see you again.
19:24Good to see us, too.
19:25How does it feel to be our guest judge tonight?
19:28Do you know what?
19:29I'm absolutely over the moon.
19:30I'm so excited.
19:31Devon here starred in all eight of the Harry Potter movies.
19:35Thank God, Leviosa.
19:37Well done, Leviosa.
19:43I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor.
19:46When you got the role in the film, were you aware of the films itself or the books?
19:50No, I had absolutely no idea.
19:52So they flew me over for a screen test.
19:53I had no idea what Harry Potter was.
19:55I'd never read the books, never heard of it.
19:57So I walked over to the director, Chris Columbus, and I said,
20:00Hi, Harry Potter.
20:01I'm Devon Murray.
20:02Nice to meet you.
20:03So they were looking for a silly Irish kid, and they kind of found a silly Irish kid that day.
20:07It's crazy to see Devon Murray.
20:09He's definitely always getting into trouble.
20:11I would be his character.
20:14My arches come out perfectly.
20:16Angel, look at them.
20:18We're working together on assembling the bridge.
20:21We're very nervous because this is a lot of chocolate.
20:24Let's see.
20:25Moment of truth.
20:26There we go.
20:27We have to pass the heat gun in order to melt the chocolate that we're gluing with it.
20:31Take approximately 40 to 50 kilos of chocolate in total to make that bridge.
20:37That's a lot of chocolate.
20:40Happy?
20:42Very happy.
20:44I'm building our milfoy now.
20:47So I have our short crust filled with a treacle filling, lemon zest custard.
20:51It's really crucial that I get this tasting element into the back of the bus.
20:55The bus is going to be driving on the bridge.
20:57We're a little bit worried about once that movement happens,
21:01it's going to be so top-heavy that it's going to topple over.
21:05Just disastrous if it falls off.
21:08I hope that what we're doing is going to get us to the head of the class like Hermione
21:11and not blow up in our faces like Seamus.
21:15Hey there, Kate.
21:16How are you guys?
21:17Hey, guys.
21:18So we have the night bus here, and look at this all coming together.
21:20Okay.
21:21Do I sense a little bit of stress?
21:23Um, a tiny bit, but it's not...
21:25I don't think we're at full panic yet.
21:27What's left to do?
21:28The landscape, some fine detailing, airbrushing, getting some dimension.
21:32I think that's a really important step.
21:34Anybody have a time-turner in their pocket?
21:36No.
21:37Unfortunately not.
21:38They're going to be in these trousers, right?
21:39Well, too.
21:41So I have my tarts here.
21:43I'm going to be making the base.
21:45Katie's going to make this delicious mince filling, you know,
21:48with some raisin, some brandy.
21:50All right.
21:51Pouring my brandy in.
21:52Ooh!
21:53Flambe!
21:54Et voila!
21:55So we have to incorporate our tasting element in our showpiece,
21:59and we don't want to cover it with, you know, silver luster dust.
22:02So we will be placing our minced tart on the top of our gas tank to display this dessert.
22:07And we're going to top it off with a beautiful chocolate feather.
22:10Time is flying like the Weasley's rusty old banger.
22:14Only one hour to go.
22:16Oh!
22:17Oh my God.
22:18Yeah.
22:19This is absolutely incredible.
22:21Yeah.
22:22So now we'll do the blue.
22:23It'll be like the blue of your eyes.
22:24Yeah.
22:25Like that's the color.
22:26Victorian sponge cake always have a Genois.
22:29So I'm making a whipped white chocolatier mash.
22:32And you're also making a raspberry gel.
22:34I think it is going to be a really nice surprise for the judges.
22:41This part is important for precision.
22:43I really want to capture that perfect checkerboard effect.
22:47I think this is an important one to keep us in the running.
22:51Hey, Molly.
22:52I think we really need that tasting element.
22:54The phone box door will magically open to reveal a desk
22:57made out of our tasting element Battenberg cake.
23:00The fondant's got the color, a wood effect.
23:02Hopefully the judges will be able to see that.
23:04So priorities now, I've got to do the wizard.
23:07Otherwise, there's nothing to see.
23:09So much modeling chocolate and stuffed it all together.
23:11It's what we call speed modeling.
23:13How are you holding up there, Molly?
23:14Not great, but at least we can go out with a bang.
23:19This is the front door of the vanishing cabinet, which is fun.
23:23So now I've switched to chocolatier mode.
23:25Really going into chocolate carpentry now.
23:27We've obviously got to build a cabinet.
23:29We've got shelves to do.
23:30Cutting in to create wooden planks.
23:32From there, what I need to do is actually airbrush it.
23:35So I have to get that beautiful old wooden effect.
23:37I have to hope that all the dimensions
23:39we've done our calculations correctly.
23:41I've got a lot to do.
23:42I need to get this cabinet finished.
23:45Can you help me with this cabinet?
23:46One.
23:47I need some help if it's possible.
23:48Second.
23:49What's attaching the last shelf?
23:51Please emergency help.
23:53We have so much more to do in just our small amount of time.
23:57Oh, my God.
23:58If we don't get this vanishing cabinet done,
24:00we're vanishing from this competition.
24:03Okay.
24:06It's like, ah, this is, you know, pressure's on.
24:08If we haven't got a cabinet, we haven't got a showpiece.
24:10Right.
24:11To kind of hold its shape,
24:12I just hit it with a little bit of cold spray.
24:14That way it kind of holds fingers crossed
24:15that we're making it through to the next round.
24:17Okay, yeah, that's it.
24:18Nice.
24:19Okay.
24:20Something, something.
24:21Good.
24:22Single focus now.
24:23Time is running out very quickly.
24:24Am I okay just to focus on the cabinet?
24:26Please do.
24:27You got everything else.
24:28You've got to move faster than a firebolt.
24:30Only 10 minutes to go.
24:32That time clock is not our friend right now.
24:35Oh, my God.
24:36We have so much to paint still.
24:37Okay, so the hand's just gonna go on.
24:39That's looking really good.
24:40I love it.
24:41We're in crunch time.
24:43Have to make it perfect.
24:45I need a little bit of gold.
24:49It's gonna be so cool.
24:51I like it.
24:52Building up the night bus has taken up so much time
24:54that in the last few minutes,
24:56we are frantically covering the hills.
24:59We're making the water.
25:00We're putting our edible rocks in there.
25:02I would love a little bit more time,
25:04but hey-ho.
25:0560 seconds.
25:07Oh, my God.
25:08Oh, my God.
25:09Put the gold guy in.
25:10I love it.
25:11Okay, we want to test the magic.
25:12Any minute now.
25:13Oh.
25:15There we go.
25:17So this is my first chocolate showpiece of the competition.
25:20If I don't win, it's gonna be an embarrassment,
25:23but also I want our team to be the one to watch.
25:26Oh, my gosh.
25:27This is adorable.
25:28So it's gonna go...
25:29Let me just...
25:30Let me get...
25:31You put it in the right place.
25:32Go, go, go.
25:33No, lift it up a bit.
25:34Nine.
25:35Eight.
25:36Seven.
25:37Six.
25:38Five.
25:39Four.
25:40Three.
25:41Two.
25:42One.
25:43Oh, my God.
25:44Arresto Momentum.
25:45Your time is up.
25:47Oh, my God.
25:49High five, my messy friend.
25:51Oh, you are gross.
25:52Gross.
25:53Don't drip it on your loose seat.
25:54Do you want to hit these with the steam?
25:55It's shiny, shiny.
25:56Yes, I love the little gems.
25:57It just has that little detail.
25:58Yeah, beautiful.
25:59I feel like we're restoring a piece of artwork.
26:13Judging our bakers are expert chefs Carla Hall and Joseph Youssef.
26:20Joining them is a beloved Harry Potter star, Devon Murray.
26:27Hello, bakers.
26:30Welcome to platform nine and three quarters.
26:33We can't wait to see the show pieces you've created and the classic British desserts that
26:39you've reimagined.
26:40As always, we're judging on story, execution, and taste.
26:45It's time to dig in.
26:46You ready, Devon?
26:47I'm always ready to eat.
26:49You brought that with you?
26:50That's a big four.
26:51All right, let's go try our first dessert.
26:56Look at this.
26:57Ooh.
26:58The phone box that visits his entrance to the Ministry of Magic.
27:02I love the colours.
27:03We get the story.
27:04You get the first part of the story.
27:06Ooh.
27:07Ooh.
27:08Ooh.
27:09Ooh.
27:10Ooh.
27:11So we have the Ministry of Magic inside.
27:14See, those are the interdepartmental memos.
27:16Yeah.
27:17Yeah.
27:22Interdepartmental memos.
27:23We used to use owls.
27:25This was unbelievable.
27:26In terms of execution, I love the door opening.
27:30I love the tiles, loved how they're lined up.
27:32Inside you've got this statue, great detailing on it.
27:36I love the fabric, the way that kind of falls.
27:38I don't know if you're getting a little laughed of mint there,
27:41because I believe that Harry was awaiting judge mint.
27:45So the mint smells great.
27:46I mean, it's very appetizing, isn't it?
27:47Yeah.
27:48Bring out your fork, Devin.
27:49He's ready.
27:50I'm ready.
27:51I'm locked and loaded.
27:52We got Battenberg.
27:53Battenberg.
27:54Classic.
27:55Yes.
27:56So we decided to take a little bit of creative license and go with a chocolate mint Battenberg,
28:04with a mint vanilla bean ganache, and a chocolate marzipan as well with mint.
28:10Let me just say, beautiful Battenberg.
28:14I think it is even.
28:16You have the classic checker box.
28:18The texture of the sponge is great.
28:20The marzipan, even the thickness of that, you've got it kind of spot on.
28:23So great job.
28:24It's amazing.
28:25I don't get as much mint as I was expecting.
28:28I get more mint from the aromatherapy than from the cake.
28:33Even though the Ministry of Magic was formed in 1707, this is a great fresh take on a Battenberg.
28:39Oh, thank you.
28:40That's really sweet.
28:42The Weasley car.
28:46Yes.
28:47Look at this.
28:48The color of it is absolutely perfect.
28:51I love the lights on the back of it.
28:54You can tell that the car is taking flight, but also all of this beautiful work of the tunnels and the rocks and the grass.
29:01Your execution on it is great, but I think as we go higher up to the car, the finishing on certain things isn't as clean as what I see with the bottom half of the piece.
29:13But we know exactly by looking at this, what part of the story you're trying to tell us.
29:19Hey!
29:21Wait, what?
29:23Oh!
29:24Oh!
29:25Oh!
29:27So your tasting element was rhubarb crumble.
29:30The tasting element is a book.
29:31It's rounded with custard and then it has a streusel underneath and an inverse verification of rhubarb and ibiscus on top.
29:38Hang on, what?
29:39This is all going on in my head here.
29:41What I just hope it tastes good.
29:42So the sphere is liquid inside.
29:45So whatever you break it with a fork, it will blow it.
29:48Like so.
29:50Oh!
29:51Yes, there you go.
29:54That is amazing.
29:55What's the cooling?
29:56Something menthol-y in there?
29:57There is a cooling agent on it.
29:59Oh, yes!
30:00I can feel it on the top of my palate.
30:01I can definitely feel it.
30:02Can you not feel a coolness?
30:05Really cool.
30:06I love the crumble.
30:07Once again, you've given us a lot of things to experience.
30:10All right, thank you.
30:12Oh, this looks amazing.
30:15Look at this.
30:16This looks incredible.
30:17I'm loving the chrome.
30:19I'm loving the leather work.
30:21It definitely gives that magical aura that Hagrid's bike has.
30:25The clouds and the plumes of smoke.
30:27Very nice.
30:29Oh!
30:31That is really cool.
30:33Oh!
30:35Wow!
30:36I think you've put so much time and effort into this incredible motorbike.
30:41What's with the gas tank cap?
30:44Right now, it just looks like Hagrid is right around in his pile.
30:48You know?
30:49So, I'm not going to lie.
30:50It's probably one of my least favourite things to try.
30:54My father loves it, Mino.
30:56Actually, he told us he's terrified of this tasting.
30:58No!
30:59Let's put me out of my misery.
31:01All right, let's taste it.
31:02We have our classic Mino Pate Sucre.
31:05We have a brandy cremeau topped with the classic mince filling.
31:09Look at that!
31:11Oh!
31:12It's so good.
31:14All eyes are on you.
31:24That is banging.
31:25Yes!
31:27What more?
31:28Generally, the ones I've tasted happen terrible.
31:31Sorry, Grandma.
31:32I'm sorry, my auntie.
31:33You're so sorry.
31:34Not my auntie.
31:35Your auntie?
31:36My auntie makes them for everybody.
31:37Everybody says she's amazing.
31:38But this is...
31:39Well, she's going to find out she's not.
31:42First of all, the pastry, the short crust is delicious.
31:45It's not overly brandied.
31:48You guys have managed to pack in a very authentic flavor of mince pie.
31:53I think you've done an amazing job.
31:55You've definitely nailed the story here.
31:56We get that it's Hagrid's bike, which was owned by Sirius Black, I have to point out.
32:02You know more about Harry Potter than I know.
32:03Well, there you go.
32:04There, well, you know.
32:05You're putting me to shame.
32:07In terms of your execution, you bring your concepts to life.
32:10And in terms of taste, it was really, really well done.
32:15Oh, the underground Whitehall public toilet.
32:20So if anyone hadn't told me that I was going to be coming here and eating a cake that looked like a toilet, I do not think I would have been here.
32:26He would have brought such a big fall.
32:31That toilet needs a little bit of a clean up.
32:33But I really like it.
32:35I mean, it's an underground toilet.
32:37I mean, in terms of execution, now, there are some joints that aren't really lined up properly.
32:43I just want to point that out.
32:45I love the way you've incorporated those Ministry of Magic colors.
32:48You've told that story really nicely.
32:50Oh.
32:51I'm going to ask you now about the illusion of the movement.
32:54I'm kind of scared to see what it does.
32:57We have a flushing toilet.
33:01Ooh!
33:02Toilets flushing!
33:03Victoria sponge come down the flume.
33:08I'm extremely excited to try this.
33:12It is the classic Victoria sponge cake, but we wanted to give it a twist.
33:17We decided to make it almond with brown butter.
33:20Also, whipped white chocolate ganache and raspberry gel.
33:24It's...
33:25It's...
33:26It's...
33:27Oh!
33:37Um...
33:39There is...
33:40We are on the inside.
33:41The floor's really enjoying it.
33:43The floor.
33:44But look at this.
33:45It looks incredible.
33:46Is that beautiful?
33:47It looks incredible.
33:47Isn't that beautiful?
33:49What say you, Devin, with your own fork?
33:51I can't tell from your face how are we feeling about this one.
33:56I'm really, really enjoying this.
33:58The tartness of it is incredible.
34:00As nice as it is, I do not think I would ever be able to finish that.
34:04Well, you can put yours down the half of it down there with mine.
34:08I love that it's one that's not too sweet.
34:11Also, every layer has all of the bits.
34:13You could have any part of this.
34:15This is a perfect bite.
34:17Can I just ask, is Devin going to get to try that toilet paper?
34:21Oh, my God.
34:21You've got to give it a toilet.
34:22Just give it a tug.
34:23Yeah, just give it a tug.
34:26Go on, go on.
34:30It's different.
34:31I'm having a lot of bursts today.
34:36Clean up on L2.
34:39The night bus.
34:41I see moving wheels.
34:42Oh, yes.
34:44Oh, oh, yes.
34:48Magic.
34:48Yes.
34:49Wow.
34:49Illusion of movement, top marks.
34:53I love that the lights create this movement.
34:56Great detailing on the side of the bus as well.
34:58Yes.
34:58Very clean, very nice and sharp.
35:01And that's where it contrasts, then, you see with me with other parts of it.
35:05The kind of mossy grass and everything that we have here.
35:09I think, like, a little more color in there, like lights and darks and highlights.
35:13And now it's time.
35:15Well, Devin has his fork.
35:16You ready for this?
35:17I'm ready and waiting.
35:19Treacle tart is one of my favorites.
35:21And, just in case you don't like it, it's one of Harry's favorites.
35:25All right.
35:25Well, I've never tried this.
35:26I can't wait to try it.
35:28The treacle tart, it's reimagined in the style of a milfoy.
35:31The shortbread crust layered with the treacle filling.
35:34A thin layer of custard.
35:42I would say the milfoy layers could have been thinner.
35:46There's quite a bit you've got to get in in one scoop.
35:49I'm getting, obviously, a lot of lemon.
35:52Very, very sweet.
35:54Okay.
35:54It's so strong and sweet.
35:56But, now, wouldn't you love this with a cup of tea?
35:59That's exactly what I was thinking.
36:01Story-wise, you guys have transported us to that scene in The Prisoner of Azkaban.
36:06On the execution, some detailing is really, really wonderful.
36:10I think there's other little bits that need to be elevated to come to the same level of what you guys clearly are capable of.
36:17In terms of taste, I did like the idea of taking a treacle tart and turning it into a milfoy format.
36:23But would I spend my 11 sickles for my night ride on this piece?
36:28I'm not quite so sure.
36:34Hey, guys.
36:35Hey, how you doing?
36:36So, I know this is the vanishing cabinet.
36:38The vanishing cabinet was hidden under the cloth in the Room of Requirement.
36:44Oh, oh, oh!
36:47Oh, oh, oh, oh!
36:49Wow!
36:50Oh, my God.
36:51We've been transported.
36:53Yes!
36:53Well, it's all the kind of little knick-knacks that you'd expect to see in Borgen and Berks.
36:57Exactly.
36:57And what I really liked was a little bit of kind of showmanship, the theater of removing the veil from over the vanishing cabinet.
37:04You'd love a bit of show.
37:05I do, yeah.
37:06I do, I do, I do.
37:07Me too, me too.
37:08And it actually does kind of add to the story, yeah, and this does.
37:11You have executed this beautifully.
37:13So, for the tasting element, we decided to take the classic British dessert of Eton Mess and turn it into an eyeball.
37:19Which is fitting for the kind of thing you'd find in Borgen and Berks.
37:22Exactly.
37:23Okay, Devin, I'm afraid to ask, do you like Eton Mess?
37:26I absolutely adore Eton Mess.
37:28Ah, there we go.
37:29We're going to win.
37:30So, how have you gotten an Eton Mess into an eyeball?
37:35So, actually, we've done a clotted cream ganache, strawberry compote in the center of the eyeball.
37:39We've also done a strawberry consomme, and then what we also have is a tarragon creme.
37:43Well, I've eaten a lot of weird things today, and now I'm going to have an eyeball.
37:47So, this has been eye-opening.
37:51Hey!
37:52Very good.
37:56You don't need any words.
38:05This is the story right here.
38:07I'm loving this.
38:08I know you are.
38:09My mouth is currently exploding.
38:12The tarragon creme, don't know if it's needed.
38:15See, I like herbs with my fruit, which makes it interesting and new and fresh.
38:19In terms of execution, there are so many things to appreciate.
38:24The taste in itself transported us to a moment in time and season.
38:29If I had to change one thing, I would make it easier to cut into.
38:33It's super, super thin.
38:35It's an even mess.
38:36It's a thing to be messy.
38:37No, I actually, yeah, and you think I play Slytherin's advocate, and it's an even mess.
38:43It needs to be more tidy.
38:45All I know is we have seen six incredible showpieces, and we've eaten a lot of incredibly tasty elements.
38:54And then, dude, take that plate and lick it.
38:56Come on.
38:58Come on.
39:01What an incredible challenge.
39:03Well done.
39:04The standard is just getting higher and higher.
39:08But there can only be one winning team.
39:12Devon's fork has spoken.
39:13The bakers who impressed the judges the most and have earned an advantage they can use next
39:22time are Andy and Stefan.
39:29We got this.
39:30Oh, my God.
39:31That's so cool.
39:32I am really shocked seeing it and knowing, like, they actually do like it.
39:37But not just only that they like it, but compared to all the other pieces, amongst that level of talent is just, yeah, incredible.
39:44Can't believe it.
39:45Yeah.
39:45We're one step closer to the Wizards of Baking trophy.
39:48Congratulations, Andy and Stefan.
39:50You're going to find out what your advances is soon enough.
39:53And we promise it'll be worth the wait.
39:55Okay.
39:56Unfortunately, the adventure will come to an end for one of our two bottom teams.
40:03Rui and Angel, you really did impress us with your creativity.
40:07The finishing on certain things wasn't as clean as what I see with the rest of your work.
40:14Heather and Kate, the illusion of movement was great.
40:17Fortunately, that lemon curd was a little overpowering and the finishing wasn't quite on point.
40:23You have all been amazing contestants.
40:28Sadly, for one of your teams, this will be the end of the run.
40:34The team leaving the competition is...
40:40Heather and Kate.
40:45Okay.
40:47We are truly sorry that your time on Wizards of Baking ends here.
40:52Hi, guys.
40:54Hi, guys.
40:56This is how the cards have fallen, and I'm okay with that.
41:01I walked in here a nervous first-timer.
41:04Walking out, I am just really, really grateful for the experience.
41:10The only way to know if you can do something is to try it.
41:14And I'm proud of myself for doing that.
41:18Bakers!
41:19Come on down to potions class.
41:21Wow.
41:22Amazing, isn't it?
41:23Your challenge, pick any two objects, then recreate them exactly as edible showpieces.
41:31Oh.
41:32Oh.
41:33Okay, no handles.
41:35You have to guess which two are edible.
41:39A game of Draco or Faker.
41:42Oh.
41:43Wow.
41:44I've done skeletons, but nothing like this before.
41:46If I don't have the sharp edges, it will not fall the judges.
41:50I think I've spotted the edible items.
41:54You fooled me.
41:56I'm super impressed.
41:57You better shut your face.
