00:00When I entered IIT, 1995, there are two departments that girls don't usually prefer,

00:07Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

00:10In fact, I think in Mechanical there was just one.

00:13So somebody has to initiate it.

00:17You very well know that even in Olympics, women were not allowed till not so long back, right?

00:24So all these doors are now opening.

00:27If you just go back two or five decades, you will be amazed at how many doors were closed then.

00:35In many of these so-called developed countries, women couldn't vote.

00:40But today they can.

00:43And there still are countries where women can't drive.

00:46So fine, all that is history.

00:49Don't be so historically aligned.

00:52Don't say you are carriers of historical traditions because history really carries nothing for you.

01:00The woman must make a fresh start.
