00:00every thought you think is a code a small silent program running in the background of your mind
00:08and just like code those thoughts build systems systems that shape the way you see feel and live
00:15what if i told you your entire life right now your habits your fears your confidence your limits
00:24are not who you are
00:26you didn't choose your first thoughts they were installed by parents by teachers by experience
00:35by pain by moments you've long forgotten but that your mind never did
00:39your mind is a storyteller it's been writing the same story for years
00:47i'm not enough i always fail people always leave i don't deserve more
00:51and the more you think them the more they become true not because they are but because your brain
01:00starts looking for proof psychologists call it the confirmation bias the tendency to seek what we
01:06already believe
01:06so if you believe you're broken your mind will find every reason to prove it not because it wants to
01:15hurt you but because it wants to be right your brain doesn't care if you're happy it only cares if
01:21you're consistent but here's the secret what was programmed can be reprogrammed your mind is
01:30not stone it's soft plastic flexible
01:33neuroscientists call this neuroplasticity the brain's ability to reshape itself through repetition
01:43and emotion every new thought every new belief is like carving a new path through a forest at first
01:49it's hard the old path is easy it's clear it's known
01:53but if you keep walking the new one it gets wider stronger automatic this is how you rebuild your life

02:04everything begins with awareness you can't change a thought you haven't noticed so the first step to
02:13reprogramming your mind is to observe without judgment notice the thought that says i can't
02:19notice the one that whispers why try
02:21and instead of fighting it watch it when you become the observer of thought you stop being the prisoner of
02:31it that shift from identification to observation is the beginning of power
02:37most people try to change their lives by changing their actions but you know action comes from thought
02:46every habit every behavior is born from a belief about who you are
02:50if you think i'm not disciplined you won't be and if you believe i'm not confident your body will obey that belief
03:01so you know that's why every transformation really must start at the source right at the thought level
03:10because honestly your external life is nothing more than your internal code projected into the world
03:16so how do you reprogram a mind that's been running the same code for decades
03:24it starts with a question what do i want to believe
03:27but the people who achieve the peak amounts of success the highest performers in the world have said
03:32you know what i need to discipline my mind to support me even when it comes up with an automatic immediate thoughts
03:38i want those to be positive buoyant confident and strong something that leads me to healthy decisions for my life
03:45not just things that protect me so i think we have to learn how to do that
03:48one of the simple ways to do that is this framework to understand how thoughts develop
03:53into strong and automatic thoughts in our lives i call the framework
03:57r uid which stands for relative weight of importance and duration
04:00people who often have negative recurring thoughts and feelings in their life
04:04the reason those keep coming up is because at some point in their life or continually
04:09they are giving those thoughts the negative ones more attention
04:13than necessarily any other thoughts
04:15in other words the relative weight that they give those thoughts is quite high
04:19they give a lot of importance to them so those thoughts are very important to me right now
04:23and they're durational they last over a period of time
04:26they keep thinking about those thoughts thinking about those thoughts
04:28and it's all that repetition that seals it in the back of their head
04:31and now their head says this is an easy thing i know this one
04:34and it pulls the thought forward
04:36so that simple repetition because they made it important and they thought about it a lot
04:40keeps coming up for them over and over
04:42there's a negative and a positive thing about that
04:45the negative is if you keep obsessing about negative things your mind will be automatically
04:49conditioned to bring it up more and more often without your control
04:52automatically the positive aspect is that we can use that same skill set and same rule
04:57to apply positive thoughts into our own life
05:00we can give positive thinking positive questions positive approaches to life
05:04a lot of importance in our life and a lot of focus
05:07focus on them and give a lot of duration to them over a period of time
05:10and they get sealed in the brain as well
05:13and now the brain says that's easy and automatically thinks about positive things
05:18so for me personally i've done this so much in my life
05:21that i automatically think about the best possible outcomes
05:24in almost everything i do
05:27i used to think about the negative outcomes
05:29but i thought that wasn't supporting me
05:31how did i do that

05:35i'll break it down for you a little bit about how you can do this
05:39the first thing you have to do in order to improve your mind is to take total control
05:43of your attention and notice
05:45where are your thoughts right now
05:47on a continual basis you have to think
05:49where are my thoughts right now
05:51are they supporting me
05:53or are they automatically coming up negative and self-protective
05:57in ways that are not advancing my life
05:59just to be aware
06:00to be conscious of what's going on in your body
06:03in your sense of feeling and emotion
06:05and a sense of the thoughts you're actually having
06:07just start paying attention
06:09not what do i think is realistic
06:14not what do people expect
06:16but what do i want to believe
06:19because you know belief is not about accuracy
06:21it's about alignment
06:23your mind doesn't know the difference between imagination and reality
06:30not at first
06:31when you visualize a new version of yourself
06:33your brain lights up as if it's already happening
06:36the same neural circuits fire
06:41the same chemicals flow
06:42the same story begins to form
06:44that's not fantasy
06:45that's neuroscience
06:47most adults don't need to reprogram something
06:50they just need to program it for the first time
06:52it's like there was never actually any programming that happened anywhere
06:56there were all these patterns of instances
06:58and these circumstances that have all coalesced
07:01into these automatic thoughts and behaviors
07:02that they aren't necessarily being responsible for
07:05they come up automatically and they happen
07:07it's not like someone said
07:08i want you to think this
07:09i want you to think this
07:11no one ever sat you down
07:12and wooed you into it
07:14maybe it happened
07:15but for most people
07:16it never happened
07:17what they're really saying is

07:21because sometimes i just have these constant negative recurring thoughts
07:25that come up
07:26i can't get rid of them
07:28or sometimes i get obsessed about this one bad thing that happened to me
07:32so what they're really struggling to do is to master their mind in a more capable way
07:37let's talk about how your thoughts are generated
07:39let's talk about how your thoughts are generated

07:45where we talk a lot about how you master your psychology
07:49i'm going to give you one simple framework to think through
07:52and then some tips tools and strategies that you can immediately input into your life to
07:57better manage your mind
07:59the first thing is if you're having negative recurring thoughts and feelings that are coming up
08:04those are easy and here's what i mean by that
08:08we have two systems of thought psychologists like to say now
08:12we have the system one theory which is your automatic unconscious immediate thoughts and impulses
08:17that come up from your body that usually your brain is saying hey dude we've thought through this
08:22before or hey dude we're trying to protect you
08:25it's running at a baseline easy energetic level
08:29your brain loves to optimize itself
08:31it doesn't like to have to do a lot of thinking
08:33it just likes to say what do we already know
08:36how can we apply it to this situation
08:38if you had fears in the past and a similar situation is here
08:42your body generates those fears and says hey man run away again
08:47if you had challenges in the past and you want to protect yourself
08:51your brain just says hey protect yourself right now
08:55we're worried about this but sometimes those are not helpful thoughts
09:00they're automatic but they aren't actually helpful
09:04it's just your brain saying this is the easiest route we know
09:07every time you repeat a positive thought
09:09every time you rewrite your inner dialogue
09:12you are literally sculpting your brain
09:14that's why affirmations work
09:15not because they're magic words
09:17but because they're mental reps
09:19you're training your neurons to choose new connections
09:22and over time those new connections become your new default settings

09:30then stopping sunlight breaking through clouds

09:34but here's the part most people miss
09:37you can't rebuild your mind if you still feed it with the same noise
09:40your environment is part of your code
09:42every song you listen to
09:44every video you watch
09:45every conversation you repeat is input
09:48your subconscious doesn't know the difference between reality
09:51and repetition
09:52it absorbs whatever you give it
09:54so if you want to reprogram your life
09:56change what you consume
09:57change what you repeat
09:59change what you allow
