00:00Lithuania's foreign minister has underlined Taiwan's deepening ties with the European Union.
00:05He made these remarks at an event held by U.S. think tank, the Hudson Institute.
00:09We have good exchange in different areas, but we have to build strategic partnership.
00:15We are absolutely connected by the global security and by cooperation and intense partnership by Russia and China.
00:23Boudry's added that any conflict between Europe and Russia would have consequences for the Indo-Pacific region and vice versa.
00:31He also praised ongoing economic cooperation between Taiwan and Lithuania, especially in key strategic sectors.
00:38The two countries have strengthened ties since 2021 when Lithuania opened a Taiwan trade office using Taiwanese in the name instead of Taipei.
00:46This comes amid deepening ties between Taiwan and several European nations, just days after Vice President Bi Kim Hsiao spoke in Belgium
00:54and while former President Tsai Ing-wen attends the Berlin Freedom Conference.
