Tips On How To Increase Distance By Controlling The Spin Driver

00:00so a good way to maximize distance okay and improve your accuracy is to try and reduce the

00:12spin on the ball obviously you can have too little spin but generally in my experience golfers have

00:16too much spin with their drivers so they're hitting down on the ball too much which is

00:21creating too much spin and it costs a lot of yardage very important regarding tee height that

00:27you tee it nice and high like this i see a lot of golfers teeing it down the lower you tee it that's

00:33going to encourage you to hit down on the ball too much the angle of attack will be two three four five

00:38degrees down and that's what creates excessive spin so just by teeing that ball higher making

00:45sure that more or less half of the ball is above the top edge of the club there is going to encourage

00:50you instinctive wise to really feel like you're going to hit up on the ball rather than down on

00:55the ball and you can see here when you tee it higher the right shoulder starts to sit much lower

01:00giving that nice shoulder tilt so a nice simple drill you can do to start hitting up on the ball

01:05a little bit more after you've given yourself the correct tee height of course is use a golf ball box

01:10around about a foot in front of the ball that you're hitting and this is a good indicator because

01:16if you're going to hit down on this you can see how the club will hit down into the ball maybe break

01:22your tee peg if using a wooden one and the club head will extend through into the box if you've

01:26got the correct angle of attack of hitting this up say one two three degrees on the up you can see

01:32how i'll strike the ball and go above the box so really simple measure of how your angle of attack

01:37is if you haven't got the launch monitors etc so let's set up let's give that a go and see if i can

01:43miss the box so nice tee shot straight down the middle very little spin on it it's going to give

01:52me plenty of run and i miss the box it's a simple drill to reduce your spin hit longer and straighter
