00:30So, this is the largest event that we have ever run, and trends are key to it.
00:36We're seeing there's that real push for slow experiential travel that's been emerging over a number of years.
00:41And we know that consumers are really prioritising travel as part of their annual spend.
00:45So, 75% of consumers are saying they see travel as a key part of their yearly expenditure.
00:50Not a luxury, but a key part of it.
00:52At the forefront of this trend, and embracing the slower way of life, is Greece.
00:57People are really enjoying their time.
01:00They're taking their time to really flavour everything that the destination has to offer.
01:06And for that, you need time.
01:08You should not be in a rush.
01:10We're fortunate enough that our culture is part of this whole procedure.
01:14So, our culinary experience.
01:17The idea, though, is slow cooking.
01:19You need to take your time to cook your food.
01:22And this is part, again, of our culture.
01:25So, you can find it anywhere.
01:26From the little fried calamari on the waterfront with your ouzo,
01:30to a very nice, slow-cooked lamb up in the mountain.
01:33You can find it all.
01:34In other parts of the world, travellers are being invited to take a step back in time
01:39for a historic holiday.
01:41So, the year of the Normans in 2027,
01:44because it's the 1,000th anniversary of the birth of William the Conqueror.
01:48And this initiative is done hand-to-hand with our British friends,
01:51but also with four other countries,
01:53including Italy, Scandinavia, and also the China Islands,
01:56to show what was the Norman influence over these five countries.
02:00We try to focus not on the known spots,
02:03but to go a little bit aside on less-known sites.
02:06And the perfect example is the castle of William the Conqueror in Caen,
02:10which is less known than many other sites in Normandy.
02:12And in Egypt, they've just opened the Grand Egyptian Museum.
02:16It's the biggest museum dedicated to one civilization in the world.
02:19They can expect a collection that is very unique,
02:23especially when you visit the King Thoth galleries.
02:26The contents of King Thoth have never been displayed in full,
02:29except in the Grand Egyptian Museum.
02:32We're talking here about 5,952 pieces.
02:36And also, we have something unique called the Boats Museum.
02:40We have two of Thotho.
02:43Thotho is the name of the king who built the biggest pyramid.
02:47And these two ships were found behind the Thotho pyramid.
02:51We moved one of them now to the Grand Egyptian Museum,
02:55and it's fully installed.
02:57And the other one will always be shown under restoration.
03:01So tourists will always see this boat being restored by restorers
03:07and see how they do this kind of work.
03:10Though travelers are spending more of their annual budgets on holidays,
03:21value for money is still a key factor when choosing a destination.
03:24Many people still think that Japan is expensive,
03:28but it's not true anymore.
03:30With the current exchange rate of Japanese yen, Japan has good value.
03:35Japan is a paradise for food lovers, as I think many of you know.
03:41But each area has their own culinary identity.
03:45Tokyo has most Michelin restaurants in the world.
03:49And the most interesting part is most of these meals comes with very affordable prices.
03:59Another key topic here at World Travel Market is sustainability.
04:02Across the board, there seems to be a big push to diversify beyond the traditional travel season.
04:08Sustainable has three parts.
04:09It means a tourism that can last without harming the environment,
04:14without harming the local communities.
04:17And many people tend to forget that.
04:18But it also has a sustainable economic model.
04:21You need to have the three of them, not one or two.
04:23Of course, cherry blossom season, like springtime, is one of the best seasons, I can guarantee.
04:31But of course, we'd like to show other seasons too.
04:34Still, we are looking for the number of visitors.
04:37But also, we would like to have a meaningful visitors.
04:41People would like to respect our culture.
04:45Then, we can learn each other.
04:47Then, the travel industry can be better and better.
04:50That's what we are looking for.
04:53Thank you.
