00:00The biggest password leak of all time, forced cloud backups and fake Wi-Fi networks.
00:04Here's some of the tech news that you should be aware of, in case you missed it.
00:07Some interesting news from Microsoft.
00:09Windows 11 has removed the choice of backing up your files with OneDrive when setting up your new computer.
00:13They just don't even ask you.
00:15Previously, you had to explicitly activate automatic folder backups.
00:18Now, Microsoft seems to have just sort of assumed that everyone wants OneDrive backups activated by default.
00:24If you don't want your Windows computer to backup everything on your desktop or in other folders to OneDrive,
00:29you can deactivate it through your OneDrive settings.
00:31In other news, a hacker on a popular forum posted what's being called the largest password compilation leak of all time.
00:38Guess how many plain text passwords were exposed?
00:40Just take a wild guess.
00:42Ten billion.
00:43This gigantic list of leaked passwords known as RockU2024 provides hackers with an important tool that can be utilized in a brute force attack.
00:51Apparently anyone signed up to any service online ever should assume that a password that they use is on that list.
00:56So that's just great.
00:57Airports are a mess this summer, as usual.
01:00Horribly overcrowded, overpriced places.
01:03But if you don't already hate flying enough, here's another reason.
01:05The feds in Australia have just charged a man with running a fake in-flight Wi-Fi network
01:10and using it to harvest flyer credentials for email and social media services.
01:14The AFP alleges that details such as email addresses and passwords were saved to the suspect's device.
01:20Spooky.
01:20If you're connecting to unfamiliar hotspots, be very careful to check that they're legit.
01:25Better yet, just don't do it at all.
01:27Don't connect to unfamiliar hotspots.
