Princess Reema: 56% of Saudi Economy Now Non-Oil

Speaking at the America Business Forum in Miami, Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema Bandar al-Saud says more than half of the Kingdom’s economy now operates beyond oil.

00:00Today, I'm so proud to say that the kingdom really has diversified.

00:04About 56% of our economy is no longer dependent on oil.

00:08And that's a big launch away from where we were prior to Vision 2030.

00:13But when we talk about entertainment sectors, tourism, sports,

00:17again, it's the industry that we're investing in, not the game.

00:20Because if you think about sustainability,

00:23you want the stadium where, yes, we want to host FIFA.

00:26Yes, we want to host all sorts of amazing activities.

00:28But we want to look at the pipeline of work, employment, jobs, opportunities,

00:34businesses that these sectors all drive.

00:36And we want Riyadh to be, if not the kingdom, a year-round destination,

00:41not a single event destination.

00:43And legacy only comes with sustainability.
