00:00I'm tired. I'm tired.
00:04I'm here as a mother and I'm here as a citizen.
00:08I've been in this city for 28 years and I'm tired.
00:13And like I told some of the city councils earlier, I'm tired of being profiled.
00:17I'm tired of being told there's nothing we can do.
00:21Really? There's nothing we can do?
00:22How do I explain my kids every single day they get home from school
00:27that civil rights don't apply to every single one of us
00:30because of our skin color or the color of our hair?
00:35I have to carry my passport with me because it's a matter of when, not if, if I get stopped.
00:46So my civil rights don't apply because I'm Hispanic.
00:50So it depends on the situation or the circumstances, right?
00:54So right now, there's no civil rights for any of us, for my community, for my Latinos.
01:03I am tired.
01:05I have kids in second grade coming home from school every day.
01:10Instead of telling me about their academics improvements,
01:14they're telling me about the stories from classmates.
01:16My daughter being a witness of ICE or terrorists, whatever they call them,
01:24asking them for legal status just because of the way they look.
01:32Just because we don't fit the profile.
01:34Now, like I said earlier, I don't disagree with deportations.
01:46Deport the ones that are criminals.
01:49The ones that are being deported are only working class.
01:53That their only crime was to fight for a future for their families.
01:56They made us use face masks during pandemic time.
01:59Do we have to go back to that, community?
02:07Let's use face masks.
02:09Are we okay with face masks?
02:11To not be profiled?
02:12To not have a phone in our faces every single day?
02:15To scan us on the database?
02:17To make sure we're not criminals?
02:20I mean, you tell me.
02:22Because I'm tired and I don't have an explanation for my kids.
02:26What do I tell my kids?
02:27Even though you're born here, civil rights don't apply to you
02:30because you're Latino, because you have Spanish in your blood,
02:36because your hair is black?
02:40Because I'm running out of excuses.
02:43Or when I drive them off to school every single day,
02:46I don't have nothing to say to them.
02:48Or look, they're picking up somebody else?
02:50That's why, too.
02:51It's bad.
02:51We'll be back on.
02:52Everybody looks like boys.
02:53ibil videos.
02:56Bye.
02:57Bye.
03:01Bye.
03:02Bye.
03:08Bye.
03:11Bye.
03:12Bye.
03:13Bye.
03:15Bye.
03:16Bye.
03:16Bye.
03:17Bye.
03:18Bye.
03:18Bye.
03:18Bye.
03:18Bye.
