00:06is now shockingly accused of stabbing her own mother to death on Halloween.
00:11Neighbors in a quaint neighborhood of Wichita, Kansas, said they were traumatized
00:15after 47-year-old Angeline Mock staggered out of a home shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, soaked in blood.
00:22One neighbor, Alyssa Castro, recounted the harrowing scene to local station K.A.K.E,
00:27telling the outlet that Mock flagged her and her boyfriend down before snatching his phone
00:32and bolting back inside the house, where she called authorities and allegedly claimed
00:36she stabbed her mother to, quote, save herself.
00:40There was a woman who came and approached our vehicle with blood, like her hands were filled,
00:47her body was filled with blood, asking to call 911.
00:49I've heard you have to stab the mother to save herself.
00:52When officers with the Wichita Police Department arrived, Mock was waiting outside with a series
00:57of bloody cuts on her hands, while her mother, 80-year-old Anita Avers, was found unresponsive
01:02in her bed, with multiple stab wounds.
01:06Avers was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died just 30 minutes later, according to
01:10the police department.
01:12Mock was taken into custody and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail for first-degree murder
01:16and is being held on a $1 million bond, according to the county sheriff's office.
01:21Mock worked at KTVI Fox 2 as a morning and evening fill-in anchor from 2011 to 2015, according
01:29to her LinkedIn.
01:30She hopped between different sales jobs in the Gateway City through August 2017, before
01:46taking a two-year hiatus from the workplace and switching to a data management company with
01:52at least five offices in the Midwest, including one in Wichita.
01:56Police say the investigation is ongoing and have yet to disclose a motive.
