00:00So I'm part of the large group Veolia, which everyone knows, it's the largest group of ecological transformation in the world, with presence all over the world, with 45 billion euro turnover, but I'm here specifically to speak about the hazardous waste treatment capacity of this group.
00:22So all together, Veolia invented the industry of treating hazardous waste in 1975 in France, with the first plant, and today we are the largest hazardous waste treatment group of the world, with 4.5 billion euro turnover generated in 200 plants worldwide.
00:45Specifically, in Europe, we own and manage 110 plants in 10 countries, which are treating more or less 5 million tonnes of hazardous waste, including 1.1 million tonnes of waste which are incinerated in dedicated rotary kiln.
01:07We have 18 lines of incineration for hazardous waste all over Europe, which we are using to treat the waste from all the European countries.
01:18Specifically, in Italy, we have four plants, two plants which are treating hazardous waste, liquid hazardous waste via coal treatment, like evaporation, physical chemical treatment, biology.
01:33And we have two large transfer stations which we are using to transfer waste from Italy to all our hazardous waste kiln all over Europe.
01:43Basically, there is a very strong lack of hazardous waste incineration in the Italian market, because the regulation regarding hazardous waste is very well followed in this country.
01:57In this country, there is a very strong industry, thus it means a lot of hazardous waste, but there is not enough kilns to treat all hazardous waste.
02:05So there is a need of the European capacities, and we are providing more or less 100,000 tonnes of capacity in our kilns all over Europe, which means that 100,000 tonnes of hazardous waste generated by the Italian industry is sent to our platform and then shipped to our kilns.
02:25And then shipped to our kilns in France, in Poland, in Hungary, in Spain, and so forth.
02:35Why are we in Ecomundo?
02:37It's very simple.
02:38First, because this is the best fare of Europe, at least it's the one I prefer, but also because a lot of our clients are here.
02:47So if our clients are here, we are here for them.
02:52I've been asked to share one good news.
02:55One of the good news is that we are currently building a very large incinerator in Germany.
03:01It will be a very modern, complete new line, probably the biggest incinerator line for hazardous waste of Europe.
03:08150,000 tonnes of capacity.
03:10And as Italy lacks a lot of capacity for hazardous waste treatment, we will provide a significant share of that kiln to the Italian market.
