Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Thursday November 6 2025 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
00:20Dear brothers and sisters, we are still in these first few days of the month of November, in which the Church invites us, encourages us to pray for our beloved dead, the faithful departed.
00:34We had the commemoration, of course, last Sunday, the 2nd of November.
00:38But I do intend to celebrate this Mass today as a Mass for the dead, for the faithful departed, to pray for our deceased loved ones, especially for those who have been entrusted to my prayers over the last few days.
00:51So dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
00:59You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
01:04You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
01:08You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:14May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
01:21Let us pray.
01:23Almighty ever-living God, life of all that is mortal, and joy of the saints,
01:30we humbly pray to you for your servants, that freed from the bonds of mortality,
01:35they may possess your kingdom in everlasting glory.
01:39Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:48A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans.
01:54The life and death of each of us has its influence on others.
01:58If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord.
02:04So that alive or dead, we belong to the Lord.
02:07This explains why Christ both died and came to life.
02:12It was so that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.
02:16This is also why you should never pass judgment on a brother or treat him with contempt, as some of you have done.
02:25We shall all have to stand before the judgment seat of God.
02:28As Scripture says,
02:30By my life, it is the Lord who speaks, every knee shall bend before me, and every tongue shall praise God.
02:39It is to God, therefore, that each of us must give an account of himself.
02:45The Word of the Lord
02:47Responsorial Psalm
02:51There is one thing I ask of the Lord.
03:21For this I long
03:22To live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
03:26To savor the sweetness of the Lord, to behold his temple.
03:31I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:37I am sure I shall see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living.
03:43Hope in him.
03:44Hold firm and take heart.
03:46Hope in the Lord.
03:47I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:53Alleluia, Alleluia.
03:57Come to me, all you that labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.
04:03Alleluia.
04:05The Lord be with you.
04:06A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:13The tax collectors and the sinners were all seeking the company of Jesus to hear what he had to say.
04:20And the Pharisees and the scribes complained.
04:24This man, they said, welcomes sinners and eats with them.
04:28So, he spoke this parable to them.
04:32What man among you with a hundred sheep, losing one, would not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness,
04:41and go after the missing one till he found it?
04:44And, when he found it, would he not joyfully take it on his shoulders?
04:49And then, when he got home, called together his friends and neighbors.
04:56Rejoice with me, he would say.
04:58I have found my sheep that was lost.
05:01In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one repentant sinner
05:08than over ninety-nine virtuous men who have no need of repentance.
05:13Or, again, what woman with ten drachmas would not, if she lost one,
05:21light a lamp and sweep out the house and search thoroughly till she found it?
05:26And then, when she had found it, called together her friends and neighbors.
05:31Rejoice with me, she would say.
05:33I have found the drachma I lost.
05:34In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing among the angels of God over one repentant sinner.
05:46The Gospel of the Lord.
06:04The Gospel of the Lord.
06:34The Gospel of the Lord.
06:46Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
06:51Receive, O Lord, in your kindness a sacrificial offering we make for your departed servants and for all who sleep in Christ,
07:06that set free from the bonds of death by this singular sacrifice they may merit eternal life.
07:12Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
07:15The Lord be with you and with your spirit.
07:19Lift up your hearts.
07:21We lift them up to the Lord.
07:22Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:24It is right and just.
07:26It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
07:36For even though by our own fault we perish, yet by your compassion and your grace, when seized by death according to our sins,
07:46we are redeemed through Christ's great victory and with him called back into life.
07:53And so with the powers of heaven we worship you constantly on earth, and before your majesty, without end, we acclaim.
08:01Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:09Hosanna in the highest.
08:11Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:14Hosanna in the highest.
08:15Hosanna in the highest.
08:46Take this all of you and eat of it.
08:50For this is my body, which will be given up for you.
08:55In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:22Take this all of you and drink from it.
09:25For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
09:35Do this in memory of me.
09:38For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for the forgiveness of sins.
10:08Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation.
10:18Giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly, we pray, that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, you may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:32Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo our Pope and Charles our Bishop and all the clergy.
10:42Remember, your servants whom you have called from this world to yourself, grant that they who were united with your son in a death like his may also be one with him in his resurrection.
10:53Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face.
11:04Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:17we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:24Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, O glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen.
11:41At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
11:45Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11:56Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:05And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:10Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days.
12:15That by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin, and safe from all distress,
12:21as we await the blessed hope, and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:30Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:33Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:35Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church.
12:38And graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.
12:44The peace of the Lord be with you always.
12:49Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
12:51Peace be with you.
12:52Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:12Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:17Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:22Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the world.
13:50Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:53Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
14:00My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:07I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:12Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, commonly, spiritually, into my heart,
14:18I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you.
14:23Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
14:27Let us pray.
14:31As we participate in the divine mysteries, we pray, almighty God, that they may advance our salvation
14:38and bring pardon to the souls of your servants, for whom we implore your mercy.
14:44Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
14:47Friends, thank you for your prayerful company today, and I hope that our online celebration of the Mass
14:54is a reminder to keep on praying for one another, but also for the souls of the faithful departed.
15:00We have, after all, the whole month to keep them in our prayers.
15:03Also, this first eight days of November is particularly encouraged for us to visit physically or maybe spiritually
15:11the places where our loved ones are buried, our cemeteries, which are holy places, of course,
15:18where our loved ones and we in the future will wait for the resurrection.
15:22So, let's take advantage of this sacred time to pray for those who have passed away already,
15:28and may our prayers bring them comfort and to us, consolation.
15:33The Lord be with you.
15:34May Almighty God bless you, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
15:40Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.
15:42May Almighty God bless you, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
