00:00An investigation is now underway after a deadly fire tortured a care home in Tuzla overnight, claiming at least 11 lives.

00:10Local authorities met this morning to discuss the next steps.

00:13As officials confirmed, the biggest challenge was evacuating more than 60 residents from the upper floors.

00:20Many of them were immobile or seriously ill.

00:2335 people were taken to the hospital, including staff, police and firefighters.

00:28Several remain in critical condition.

00:31Police are guarding the site while surviving residents have been moved to safer parts of the building.

00:38The tragedy has once again raised longstanding concerns about poor conditions in the care home

00:44and why the most vulnerable were placed on floors from which escape was almost impossible.

00:51The director has signs resigned and investigators are working to determine how the fire started

00:58and whether anyone failed in their duty of care.
