00:38Macapa Corporation, a company founded by Albay 2nd District Representative Carlos Caloy Loria,
00:46had been securing billions of pesos in government contracts in the Bicol region.
00:50Loria was considered a political neophyte when he won the May 2025 election against Zaldico's
00:56brother and former Akobi Colpartilist Representative Christopher Ko.
00:59From 2021 to 2023, Loria's company landed several major contracts with the Department of Public Works and Highways,
01:06driving significant business growth.
01:08The firm won more than 20 flood control projects in Albay in Sorsogon's 2nd District,
01:13worth about P2.39 billion.
01:15One of the flood control projects under Macapa in Albay was the rehabilitation of the structure along the Kinali River.
01:22Despite this significant public spending, residents report that the flooding problem in the area remains unsolved.
01:29At least 82 people are dead in the Visayas and Mindanao due to Typhoon Tino, international name Kalmegi, as of Wednesday, November 5.
01:39Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Chief Dennis Pastor says at least 41 deaths are recorded in the province.
01:47This figure is expected to rise as authorities verify reports from the ground.
01:51Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival says search and retrieval operations are underway in Barangay Bukayan to recover victims' bodies.
02:00He adds, around 50 to 60 houses were affected, with cars piled up trapping residents in their homes.
02:06On top of 76 deaths on Cebu Island, the Office of Civil Defense confirms the deaths of six military personnel from a helicopter crash on Tuesday in Loreto, Agusan del Sur.

02:22Democrats sweep a trio of races in the first major elections since Donald Trump regained the U.S. presidency.
02:29In New York City, 34-year-old Democratic Socialist Zoran Mamdani wins the mayoral race.
02:35His win caps a meteoric and unlikely rise from an anonymous state lawmaker to one of the country's most visible Democratic figures.
02:43Meanwhile, in Virginia and New Jersey, Democrats Abigail Spanberger and Mickey Sherrill win their respective elections for governor.
02:50Mamdani, who will become the first Muslim mayor of New York City, outlasted former Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo.
02:57These elections offer a barometer of how Americans are responding to Trump's tumultuous nine months in office.
03:03Getty Images largely loses its London lawsuit against artificial intelligence company Stability AI over its image generator.
03:12This prompting Getty and some lawyers to call for stronger protections for copyright owners in Britain.
03:18Getty accused Stability AI of using its images to train its stable diffusion system, a text-to-image generator, and claims both its copyright and trademark were infringed.
03:28The visual image company later dropped its primary copyright allegations during the trial.
03:33A British High Court judge rules, Getty in part won its argument that Stability infringed its trademark in relation to its watermarks but lost its claim for secondary infringement of copyright.
03:44Getty and Stability AI both hailed the ruling as a victory.
03:48Getty says it's a significant win for intellectual property owners.
03:51Meanwhile, Stability claims it resolves the copyright concerns that were the core issue.
03:57The Getty case is closely watched for its impact on AI laws.

04:22Now a foursome, Shane Fillon, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, and Mark Feely split up in 2012 but reunited in 2018.
