00:00...to let the water systems and food systems and planetary climate systems get destroyed.
00:04That is the stupidity which rules us today.
00:08So our challenge really is against stupidity.
00:15Finish the water, you'll find a substitute.
00:18Finish the food, you'll find a substitute.
00:20But are there substitutes for the real things that make life work?
00:25No.
00:25The food that they say they'll find a substitute is fake food that is doing huge amounts of damage to our health.
00:34And in water anyway they can't create it, they can steal it.
00:37So the powerful go to poorer communities to divert more water.
00:42I don't think the planet will die.
00:45I think the earth is too powerful.
00:47She's lived through hotter times, colder times.
00:49She's lived with dinosaurs, without dinosaurs.
00:52She'll live with human beings, without human beings.
00:54We are dispensable.
00:55She'll find a way.
00:56We need to protect our world.
01:02Women were left to do the work that was considered not important.
01:06Going to war and killing was considered important.
01:08Making profits at the cost of others was considered important.
01:12That's where men, powerful men designed it.
01:15And they sucked in not-powerful men to do their dirty job.
01:18Women were left to do the real things, provide the water, provide the food, take care of family.
01:25The values we need are A, the values of knowledge of how to live with nature.
01:31That's what women's knowledge is.
01:33We need knowledge of how to care.
01:37That's knowledge.
01:39It's called emotional intelligence now.
01:41We need knowledge of how to share.
01:46That is a capacity we will need more and more in the future, in a period of privatization and in a period of extraction.
01:56So women, with their caring and sharing, will be the teachers of how to be human in the future.
02:03We are living the final stages of a very deceitful system that has made everything that is very costly for the planet,
02:16costly for the producer, look cheap for the consumer.
02:20So very high-cost production with GMOs and patents and royalties and fossil fuel is made to look like cheap food.
02:26Very costly production, that kills the girls in Bangladesh, in slave factories, is made to look like cheap clothing.
02:35This is a fake cheap.
02:41In this period of the end of the world, how do we sow the seeds of a possible world?
02:46The first, every young person should recognize that working with their hands and their hearts and their minds and they're interconnected is the highest evolution of our species.
02:58Working with our hands is not a degradation.
03:02It's our real humanity.
03:04Start a garden.
03:06Create a playground in the way you grow food.
03:09Save seeds.
03:11Cook.
03:12It was treated as a backward activity that your mother cooked and was treated as not work.
03:18But she is the reason you are sustained.
03:22Start cooking classes.
03:23Get grandmothers to teach you how to cook.
03:26Create community.
03:27We are not atomized producers and consumers.
03:31We are part of the earth family.
03:33We are part of a human family.
03:34We are part of a food community.
03:36Food connects us.
03:38Everything is food.
03:39And finally, never be afraid of deceitful, dishonest, brutal power.
03:45That is true freedom.
