00:00No crowns, no thrones, no kings.
00:04That's what this victory represents.
00:07It's a victory for the people of the state of California and the United States of America.
00:13And this is a victory that's punctuated with a sober reminder
00:17that it's not just the actions that Donald Trump has taken to federalize our guard,
00:24to begin the process of militarizing American cities,
00:27to intimidate free expression and speech by utilizing ICE and Border Patrol in American cities.
00:36But he also announced today, right when polls were opening, that this election was rigged.
00:46That this election was rigged.
00:50Of course, those are familiar words.
00:53It's exactly what Donald Trump said after January 6th, that day of love,
00:58where he tried to light democracy on fire, he tried to wreck this country,
01:01and he called in to the Secretary of State in Georgia, calling up for 11,000, 12,000 votes,
01:07just like he called Greg Abbott, saying he's entitled to those five seats.
01:11He said this election was rigged,
01:14and he's moving to look for criminal prosecution and investigations at the Department of Justice.
01:20He is not screwing around.
01:23So tonight, I'm proud, but I'm very mindful and sober of the moment we are living in.
01:31Donald Trump does not believe in fair and free elections, period and full stop.
01:38This is not complicated, and it's self-evident to anyone paying attention.
01:44You start to stack up all of these actions that continue to this moment
01:50and will continue in moments to come.
01:54If you think I'm exaggerating, consider his announcement just a few weeks ago
01:59to send rapid response teams all across the United States, in all 50 states,
02:06tens of thousands of members of the military prepared for urban deployment,
02:14a preview of things to come.
02:18But back to this state.
02:21Our state of mind was resolute.
02:23Our state of mind was resolved to stand firm and to stand tall,
02:28to not be intimidated, to not be humiliated,
02:31to not fall prey to cynicism,
02:33to not fall prey to fear and the anxiety of someone
02:36that believes in only one thing, shock and awe,
02:40to intimidate and exhaust us.
02:43But we're seeing all across this country,
02:45seven million people strong, standing up,
02:49not just for themselves, but for each other,
02:51and for these enduring and historic principles of our founding fathers.
02:57And I'll end on that.
02:59Next year is the 250th anniversary of the best of Roman Republic,
03:03the best of Greek democracy.
03:06This fundamental notion of a system of checks and balances,
03:12of popular sovereignty,
03:15the rule of law.
03:17Mr. President, the rule of law, not the rule of dawn.
03:21And I hope it's dawning on people.
03:25The sobriety of this moment.
03:28What's at stake?
03:30Tonight, as I said, is an extraordinary moment for our party.
03:35But again, it's an extraordinary moment affirming those principles.
03:40Our founding fathers did not live and die
03:43to see the kind of vandalism to this republic and our democracy
03:47that Donald Trump is trying to perpetuate.
03:51And so, my call tonight, in the spirit of Whitman,
03:54we talked about the powerful play, goes on.
03:58We all must contribute a verse.
04:00And so, we need, we need the state of Virginia.
04:06We need the state of Maryland.
04:09We need our friends in New York, in Illinois, in Colorado.
04:12We need to see other states,
04:15the remarkable leaders that have been doing remarkable things,
04:19meet this moment head on as well
04:21to recognize what we're up against in 2026.
04:24And let me make this crystal clear.
04:29We can de facto end Donald Trump's presidency as we know it.
04:35The minute Speaker Jeffries gets sworn in
04:40as Speaker of the House of Representatives,
04:43it is all on the line,
04:46a bright line in 2026.
04:49And so, I want to thank everybody that stood up,
04:54not just for our democracy,
04:57but stood up for those that have feel bullied and intimidated,
05:03stood up, stood up for this notion
05:06of co-equal branches of government
05:08and a system of checks and balances.
05:19And so, I want to thank everybody that stood up for this notion
