Amazon is cutting thousands of jobs as it invests more in artificial intelligence. We asked people in Birmingham whether they’re worried about AI replacing human workers — and what it means for the future of employment.

00:00Yes, definitely. We've both got children, late teens, early twenties and a lot of the
00:11traditional jobs are being taken over, so it's trying to find a job route for our children
00:18that can't be taken over by a robot, basically.
00:22I really don't think that it can do half of the things that people say it does. Amazon
00:28is obviously going huge into it because they invest in the technology and they own the
00:32technology. I would love it if Amazon went bust at the end of this.
00:37I do think there is a new industrial revolution coming, which is the AI revolution and people's
00:43jobs are going to change. What I do in particular, I think AI can help in processing, I don't
00:49think it can do my job and at the end of the day, people still like to interact with other
00:55people and people still buy from other people, so I don't think AI will completely remove
00:59the need for people.
