00:00The goal is not merely to treat disease, but actually to equip Malaysians with the ability,
00:13knowledge and confidence to manage their own health. An estimated of 3.6 million adults are
00:20living with diabetes and nearly half remain undiagnosed in Malaysia. Hence, these demands
00:27on urgent and strategic action to detect them early, so detect those at risk earlier, strengthen
00:37prevention and health promotion, and ensure continuous care and support for those who
00:46are already diagnosed. The ERROD program represents the next phase of our National Diabetes Strategy.
00:55Moving beyond medication adherence, compliance, towards true patient empowerment. This program
01:02integrates behavioral insights, education and self-management to help individuals take greater
01:09ownership of their health. And I would like to commend the Pharmaceutical Services Program,
01:13the MPS and Novo Notice for this meaningful collaboration. A model example of, as I said,
01:20not just public, private, but a tri-pi-tide collaboration of government, professional
01:29association and bodies like MPS and industry like Novo Notice, which could deliver tangible health
01:39outcome for Malaysians. Ladies and gentlemen, following this ceremony, a memorandum of understanding will be signed
01:45between Ministry of Health and the Malaysian Pharmacists Society to formalize the cooperation under the ERROD
01:52project. This MOU reaffirms the shared commitment of both parties to work together equally and collectively
02:00in strengthening diabetes care through pharmacist-led initiatives. Implementation will be overseen by a joint working committee
02:08comprising representative from MOH and MPS which will meet regularly to review progress, discuss,
02:15decision and resolve operational issues and challenges.
02:21Yes.
