00:00I just got home the new Asus Laptop, the Asus ZenBook S14, with the latest from Intel, the new Lunar Lake 2 Series range.
00:10Specifically, the Intel Core Ultra 7256.
00:15If you're interested in learning more about this laptop, stick around.
00:19My name is Audrey and welcome to the PC Components channel.
00:22Let's start by talking about its physical appearance, which is quite striking and we have two color options available.
00:32Zumaya Gray and Scandinavian White.
00:35Honestly, I love the design of this laptop for several reasons.
00:40One of the reasons is what I just told you.
00:43It's very different from the Ultrabooks made by other brands and honestly I really like the silver touch on the front with some somewhat random lines.
00:52And not only that, it feels very premium in the hand, you can tell that the materials and finishes are high-end and that makes the tack very satisfying.
01:02Does anyone want to know exactly what material it's made of?
01:06Well, according to what it says on the Asus website, it's made of Ceraluminum.
01:09To give you an idea, it's a mix of aluminum and ceramic.
01:13According to them, it's high-tech.
01:16And what else can I tell you about this laptop?
01:18It's the typical ultra-thin one, in this case 1.1 cm and weighing 1.2 kg.
01:27Let's continue with its keyboard, which is that this laptop has a chiclet-style backlit keyboard with 1.1 mm K-travel.
01:35For those who don't know what K-travel is, it's the distance between each key, and that makes this keyboard, at least in my opinion, very comfortable.
01:44It's not the typical keyboard where when you press the keys they get stuck, you can type quite smoothly without any problems.
01:52And apart from that, when you put your hands on the keyboard, you can reach practically all the keys without any problems.
01:59It's not the typical laptop where you have to make weird movements to reach the enter or delete keys or something like that.
02:06If you put your hands in the center, you can reach them all with all your fingers.
02:10Finally, I have to say that the backlight on this laptop is only one color, in this case white, and it has four different brightness levels.
02:20As for the trackpad, I have to say that it is a very good size, at least for a 14-inch laptop.
02:26And it comes with smart gestures, such as raising and lowering the volume, changing the lighting, and fast-forwarding or rewinding a video that is playing.
02:35You have these functions on the ends of the trackpad and apart from these gestures, you have all the ones that come standard with Windows 11.
02:45I won't spend much time on the webcam section, since as everyone knows, laptops usually come with webcams that are not very good quality.
02:53But anyway, I have to say that it is fine, it can be used to make a video call or a meeting.
02:59But I do have to highlight one thing and that is that the webcam on this laptop comes with Windows Face Unlock.
03:06It is very easy to open the computer, you just have to look and it unlocks.
03:10Regarding the available connections on this Asus Zenbook S14, on the right side we have a USB 3.2 Type-A and on the left side we have two Thunderbolt 4 connections of the USB-C Type,
03:26an HDMI 2.1 and a jack socket that you can use for both a microphone and headphones.
03:33Honestly, I'm missing an SD card connector.
03:36This won't affect most people, only those of you who are filmmakers, content creators or take photos.
03:45In my case, I've remedied it with an adapter and without any problems.
03:51This laptop also has a military standard certification, the MIL-STD-810H.
03:57And you're probably wondering what that means.
04:04Well, basically it means that they subject the laptop to different tests such as vibration, altitude, temperature differences and shocks.
04:14Surely many of you don't care too much, but in my case, as I'm a bit clumsy, it's appreciated to have a little more protection at certain times.
04:22Let's move on to one of the things I like most about this laptop, it's screen.
04:29This laptop features a 14-inch Asus Lumina OLED 3K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of maximum brightness,
04:39and a 16 candelas per square meter screen format.
04:42And let's not forget to mention that this display is also touch-sensitive.
04:49I'm really blown away by this laptop's display, not only because of its quality,
04:53but also because it comes with certifications such as Pantones, Bisesa, SGS, and TOP.
05:02It's a plus for video editors and designers.
05:05And if you don't know what I'm talking about, I recommend you watch a video we uploaded a few weeks ago.
05:12It's a guide to choosing a monitor if you're a video editor, photographer, or designer.
05:17And we're not just talking about certifications, but about many other things.
05:21And from the screen, let's move on to the speakers, and I have to say that I also really liked them,
05:29but before I give my opinion on them, I'll show you a little clip so that you can listen to it for yourselves.
05:35In my opinion, the speakers on this laptop are on par with many high-end tablets that are specifically made for consuming content.
05:53And I know that you can't get a 100% idea of how these speakers sound from the video clip I've shown you,
05:59since the microphone I recorded it with and the headphones are speakers that you're using to listen to me also flow.
06:04But I can tell you that I really liked it.
06:08And now we've reached the moment of the video that you've all been waiting for.
06:12Let's talk about what's inside this laptop.
06:17As I said before, this laptop comes with the latest from Intel,
06:22the new Lunar Lake 2 series range and specifically the Intel Core Ultra 7256,
06:28an 8-core processor that reaches up to 4 GHz and comes with an integrated Intel graphics card.
06:34And since this laptop doesn't come with a dedicated graphics card,
06:40but only with the integrated one,
06:42I decided to test this graphics card by playing a few games of Fortnite.
06:46In the first game, I set a full HD resolution with no frame rate limit and Direct 12,
06:54and I got a frame rate of around 23 frames per second on medium quality.
07:01Of course, I have to say that I didn't experience any stuttering or sudden drops in frames at any time.
07:07And honestly, everything went perfectly, obviously within those 235 frames,
07:13but there were no stuttering or sudden drops in frames at any time.
07:18It was quite playable.
07:20And in the second test, the only thing I changed was the quality from medium to high.
07:26In this case, I got a frame rate of around 18.8 to 19,
07:30but this time I did experience a lot of stuttering and sudden drops in frames.
07:36Honestly, it was unplayable for me.
07:38I don't think this is a laptop specifically made for gaming,
07:42but I have to say that I have noticed a slight improvement
07:45in terms of integrated Intel graphics compared to previous ones.
07:50And in a laptop like this that is 11mm thick,
07:54I don't think a dedicated graphics card would fit,
07:56so we'll have to make do with the integrated one.
07:59In terms of storage,
08:01this laptop comes with a 1TB PCI Express 4.0 SSD and 32GB of RAM.
08:10Then we have a 7.2WH battery.
08:14According to Asus,
08:15its approximate battery life is around 27 hours of active screen time,
08:19but I can tell you that in the end it's never that long.
08:22It really depends on how you're going to use this computer.
08:25I would say that it will last approximately 10-12 hours of active screen time,
08:31but sometimes, depending on what you're using it for,
08:34like simply watching YouTube videos or movies,
08:37it can last up to 15 hours.
08:40And I'm not saying that as if it were a few hours,
08:42on the contrary,
08:43it seems like a lot of hours to me,
08:45especially considering that it's a Windows laptop.
08:48We are very used to very poor battery life in laptops that are not from Apple,
08:53but this one is really surprising.
08:56I am very, very happy with its battery
08:58and one thing that is closely linked to the battery is the noise,
09:02which is that this laptop is very quiet.
09:05I practically never heard the fan,
09:08and as I mentioned before,
09:09it is an ultra-thin laptop.
09:12It does not fit very large fans like the laptops we are used to,
09:16and on top of that it practically does not heat up.
09:20Sometimes when I tried to give it a lot of power,
09:22but as I can tell you,
09:24you can barely notice it.
09:25Good battery,
09:26no noise and it practically does not heat up.
09:30For me,
09:31this is a dream because it comes with the software
09:33that everyone is familiar with,
09:35Windows 11.
09:36And not only that,
09:38it also comes with Microsoft Copilot Artificial Intelligence
09:41with a dedicated key to open this Artificial Intelligence Assistant.
09:46And for those who do not know Copilot,
09:49it is a search assistant very similar to ChatGPT,
09:52but it also includes automatic subtitles in real time,
09:56both in calls and in videos that you are watching.
09:59It also has a tool to remove backgrounds from photos
10:03and an AI-powered video generator.
10:05After all this,
10:07we are looking at the best Windows Ultrabook that I have tested.
10:12Definitely yes.
10:16Many of you might disagree,
10:17for example,
10:18on the subject of its design,
10:20which is a bit special,
10:21but honestly I like it and it feels very premium,
10:24but overall,
10:25its battery life,
10:26power and quality make it the one
10:28that I would recommend to practically everyone
10:30and that brings us to the last point,
10:32its price.
10:35Right now you can find it on PC components for 1789 euros.
10:41Once you know the price,
10:43you change your mind a bit
10:44and I don't think it's a laptop for everyone,
10:47but this laptop competes directly
10:48with the best high-end Ultrabooks such as MacBooks.
10:53In my opinion,
10:54this device is for all those people
10:56who are looking to have a similar experience to MacBooks,
10:59but with a Windows operating system.
11:02As always,
11:03let me know in the comments
11:05what you think of this laptop
11:06and don't forget to like it and subscribe
11:08so you don't miss the next videos.
11:11See you next week with more.
