00:22Before we start talking about the phones, I want to explain a little bit about how today's video is going to work and how we're going to find out which of the three has the best camera.
00:36First of all, we'll talk about the technical features and specifications of the cameras of the three phones, as well as some other interesting extras that each of them may have, of course, that directly influence the photography section.
00:49And at the end of the video, we'll do a blind test in which you can vote for which photo you liked the most.
00:56Don't worry, I'll tell you how we'll do the voting later.
01:00Obviously, I'll also cast my vote, as well as explaining the reason and about each of the photos.
01:06So without further ado, let's start with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
01:11It has a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and the front camera is also 12 megapixels.
01:23Of course, this phone allows you to zoom up to 10x, and as for extras, it comes with a Pro mode.
01:30Good thing, this will only be useful for people who are photographers or who understand photography.
01:36You will be able to change the ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and color temperature.
01:44It also has an AI editing option with different features, such as selecting people or objects and moving them, colorizing an image taken in black and white, and a few more.
01:56Let's continue with the iPhone 16 Pro.
01:58In this case, it is not the Max version, but don't worry.
02:03As for the cameras, they are exactly the same.
02:0748-megapixel main sensor, 12-megapixel telephoto lens, 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel front sensor.
02:18And in this case, in terms of extras, we have the camera control button with which we can zoom, change settings, or take a picture.
02:26And finally, we will talk about the camera features of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.
02:34It has a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 42-megapixel front sensor.
02:46And in terms of extras, this phone also comes with a Pro mode.
02:50With it, you can choose the megapixels of the camera.
02:53In addition to changing camera settings such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and color temperature,
03:01it also comes with Google Gemini Artificial Intelligence with many photography features,
03:06such as removing unwanted objects from a photo, recreating parts of a photo to make them larger,
03:12and the, include me, mode to take photos with your friends even if you don't have a tripod or there are only two people.
03:18Now that we've talked about and given some context to the cameras on each of these phones,
03:26it's time to do the blind test.
03:28Let me remind you how this is going to work.
03:30I'll show you a photo from each phone.
03:33Without knowing which phone each one is from, you'll have them as A, B, and C.
03:38And finally we'll start with the photos from the main sensor, then we'll move on to the telephoto lens, wide-angle, portrait mode, selfie, and finally night mode.
03:49Of course, just to be clear, photo A will always be the same phone, photo B will be the same phone, and photo C the same.
03:57And to vote it's very simple, you just have to go down to the comments and write main sensor and the letter of the photo you like the most,
04:07telephoto lens and the second letter and so on until you finish all the photos.
04:11And as I said, we're going to start with the main sensor and I'm going to give my opinion from left to right.
04:21So we'll always start with the letter A.
04:23In this case, we have a photo with quite a lot of contrast and with a fairly dark style,
04:28with colors that are much more muted than reality.
04:32The gold, for example, looks more like bronze.
04:36It's like it has a more orange color temperature.
04:38That doesn't mean it doesn't give the photo a vibe that I really like.
04:44As for photo B, I think it's the most faithful photo to reality, both in terms of colors and lighting.
04:50The truth is that it's very correct.
04:53I have nothing to say or criticize.
04:55Let's move on to photo C, which as you can see is a much more saturated photo, with more light.
05:02The gold, the gold looks much brighter than the other photos.
05:06I think it has the best HDR.
05:08Everything looks very evenly lit, although a little too saturated and unrealistic for my taste.
05:17So in this case, I'll stick with photo B.
05:20I wanted to take a photo with this main sensor in daylight and a photo in the shade.
05:25It has nothing to do with night mode, so keep that in mind.
05:29In this case, I'll start by saying that my favorite is not the same as the photo in daylight.
05:34I'll stick with photo A in this case.
05:36It does a much better job of compensating for light.
05:40We continue with that dark style, but in this case it's not as noticeable.
05:44In terms of colors, I can tell you that it's very true to life and it also does a very good job of HDR.
05:50The back parts that are burned don't lose as much as in photo B, where all the light from behind can't be distinguished at all, apart from having a kind of halo or a strange reflection.
06:02Then the green of the trees looks quite desaturated, well lit, but desaturated, and I feel that the photograph lacks a bit of contrast, and as for C, I think it's the one I like the least.
06:16The back is again very burnt and with the reflection or strange light, the saturation of the green is even lower.
06:26Something that surprised me a lot, since in the photograph in full light it was the most saturated.
06:31And in terms of lighting, it seems to have gone a bit overboard compensating for the lack of light, so I'll definitely go with A and we continue with the telephoto lens.
06:40In this section, I have to say that it was very difficult for me to decide.
06:47In photograph A, we can see again that in terms of white balance it goes a bit towards orange and that makes the building look like it's half orange, but in reality it wasn't yellow at all as seen in the other photographs.
07:00Of course, I really like the color of the sky and the quality of the image, apart from the fact that information is not lost in the darkest parts.
07:08In B, I see the photo as having a bit of a vintage aesthetic.
07:14The colors lack saturation, or at least for my taste, especially in the sky, which looks kind of gray, and it also has more clipping.
07:25In theory, I took all the images with the same telephoto lens for each of the phones, and I think it's the most balanced.
07:31In this case, it doesn't look very saturated either.
07:36The colors are pretty true to life.
07:39The sky is okay.
07:41The HDR and the difference between dark and light are perfect.
07:46Honestly, I'm torn between A and C, but just because of the more realistic colors, I'm going to end up choosing C and let's move on to the wide-angle lens.
07:55Things change a bit here.
07:58As we can see in photo A, we have that darker photo again, but without losing all the information.
08:06Of course, I have to tell you that it wasn't that dark when I took the photo.
08:12In photo B, you can see that the camera quality is lower than the others, apart from looking like a reflection in the middle of the palm tree that makes it look out of focus.
08:21And then I see the photo as lacking saturation.
08:27And as for photo B, we have the winner.
08:30Although we have a fairly saturated photo again, we can see it in that super blue sky.
08:37The rest of the photo is a 10 for me, both in image quality and HDR and colors.
08:42So in terms of wide-angle, I prefer photo C as for portrait mode, to be honest, I don't like it at all.
08:53I hardly ever use it, but I know it's very fashionable and that many of you use it, so I'm only going to take into account the blur and cropping it creates and not whether one image is prettier or another, since it uses the same main sensor as the photos we've seen before.
09:07So we're only going to evaluate the blur.
09:13As for the first photo, I really like the blur.
09:18In normal situations it cuts quite well, but if we look at the bench with the holes it gets a bit messy and some areas are blurred and others are not.
09:26Unlike photo B, this one does blur the middle of the bench well and obviously it cuts me out well.
09:36I must also say that it looks like it has less blur, but this is due to the default settings of portrait mode.
09:43You can increase or decrease it on all three phones, so it's not a bad thing.
09:47And I have to say that photo C is the one I like the least.
09:52First of all, it didn't blur as much as it should have.
09:55It left the plants behind me in focus, even though they're not close to me.
10:00On the right side of my head, I can see that it takes a good photo, but I can't choose it because of the serious mistake of not selecting the subject well.
10:09So I'll definitely go with photo B, even though I like them more in terms of colors.
10:15In the selfie section, the truth is that I'm very surprised with one of the photos compared to the other two.
10:21Photograph A stands out the most in terms of quality and the reality of colors and lighting, but what I really like is the image quality.
10:33Photograph B has very good colors, although it overlights them a little and you can see that the quality of the sensor is not the best.
10:39Neither C has good colors, but it has a lot of contrast, which makes it look too dark and the quality of the sensor is not comparable to A so there is not much to talk about here.
10:53Photograph A is my vote.
10:54And now let's move on to the photos with night mode and with the main sensor.
11:00In this section I see a technical tie.
11:03It is true that the first photo has better recovered the lights in the background, but in everything else they look practically identical, both in color and quality.
11:11I hope to see your responses in the comments, but in this case, although I am not very sure, I would throw away photo A in the telephoto lens we see quite a few differences in the photos.
11:25In A, honestly, I am a little disappointed.
11:29The entire image has some noise spots, but the black part of the sky stands out the most.
11:35You can see some spots that don't make much sense.
11:38In photo B, there's also a bit of noise, but in this case, it's much more acceptable in my opinion.
11:45In terms of quality, it's very good, but yes, the leaves of the palm tree below look a bit out of focus.
11:52And in photo C, something strange happens to me.
11:55From a distance, it looks very good.
11:58I would say it's the best.
12:00Like, it has almost no noise.
12:02The white balance has changed and the palm tree looks focused and well defined, but if we get closer,
12:08it actually looks quite average compared to the previous one, but I'm going to stick with this one because in general,
12:14the images are used in their entirety and not with an extreme zoom.
12:19And in terms of the wide angle, we can see how image illuminates the scene more again and improves the white balance.
12:26But if we look at the trees in the background, they look completely pixelated.
12:30And with noise, I wouldn't even say that the trees in the background, the first tree on the left, already look like this.
12:38As for photo B, it looks even lower quality than the previous one.
12:43The trees in the background are not known to be trees or what are the distorted and out of focus images that can be seen.
12:49And finally, photo C, it is not a perfect image, far from it.
12:54The white balance is a little yellowish, although that is how it was in reality.
12:59But in this case, everything in the background looks better.
13:03The trees look like trees.
13:06Obviously, the image has noise, but not like the previous ones.
13:10So I'll take photo C and finally, in the selfie, photo A is too dark and contrasty, but the quality is perfect.
13:19In photo B we can see that it is better lit, but it is not 100% focused, and it is noticeable that it has lower quality.
13:27And in photo C, for me, it is a 10 for a selfie camera and at night, good quality, perfect focus, the white balance has improved so that I do not look yellow and it is the one that has captured the best light.
13:43So photo C also wins the selfie category.
13:48Now that we have finished voting, it is time to reveal which letter each phone is.
13:53The letter A was the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
13:59The letter B was the iPhone 16 Pro.
14:02And the letter C was the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
14:08As for my final opinion of which phone has the best camera in 2024, I honestly can't decide on one.
14:16The Pixel has some good things and some bad things.
14:20And the same goes for the iPhone and the Samsung.
14:23And it's also a very personal thing, you may like how the iPhone takes photos because you've always had an iPhone and you're used to it.
14:31What I can tell you is that if you like night photography, definitely choose the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra because we've already seen in the tests that it's much better than the others.
14:41Although the main sensor at night has outperformed the Pixel, it's not at all similar.
14:48The other cameras on the Samsung are much better, at least at night.
14:52The best way to choose which phone has the best camera in 2024 is to look below in the comments and tally up the votes that everyone has made.
15:03And we will know in general which is the best camera.
15:05So that's not much else.
15:06I remind you that you can give it a like and subscribe so you don't miss the next videos.
15:14See you next week with more.
