00:00Good evening viewers, this is Gaurang Kadam from Lokmat Times bringing you the latest on Mumbai's infrastructure updates.
00:06For a long time now, we have been highlighting the challenges on our city's road.
00:11The potholes, the traffic delays and the daily struggles of every commuter.
00:16At Lokmat Times, we have consistently reported on these issues, pushing for better maintenance and smoother drives for everyone.
00:23Today, there's some positive news, as the government has stepped up to address repairs on three key flyovers.
00:28The first is R.A., then comes Vakola and Vikroli.
00:32Let's start with the key development.
00:34On November 2, Union Minister and Mumbai MP, Piyush Goyal held a meeting with the top officials from the BMC and MSRDC at the Borevli R. Central Ward Office.
00:45He directed the BMC to begin resurfacing the flyovers right away.
00:50This comes after months of discussions between the agencies about who should handle the maintenance.
00:55Even though these structures are under the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, the BMC will now leave the entire repairs to improve traffic flow and safety.
01:05Commuters have been raising concerns about deteriorating conditions, which lead to congestion and uneven roads.
01:11There was some back and forth on responsibilities and even the Bombay High Court has noted in the past that how overlaps between agencies like BMC, MSRDC, MMIDA and PWD can slow things down.
01:25But now, with clear directions, work is set to start immediately.
01:29Additional traffic police will be also deployed to manage the flow, to identify heavy vehicles causing delays and to ensure smoother movements during the repairs.
01:38In the meeting, officials like BMC Chief, Mr. Bhushan Gagrani, additional commissioners, Vipin Sharma and Abhichit Bangar, along with the representatives of MSRDC were present.
01:50Minister Goyal also touched on related issues, such as clearing encroachments near the mangrove areas and developing lakes in the western suburbs.
01:59Now, this shows a broader effort to tackle Mumbai's civic challenges.
02:02At Lokhmut Times, we have been following the stories closely, from on-ground reports to expert views, all in effort to just bring attention to what needs fixing.
02:12It's encouraging to see how authorities are taking responsibilities now.
02:17Question will remain the same.
02:19Will the repairs be completed on time?
02:21How will the costs be managed?
02:23And can this lead to better coordination in future?
02:26Moving on, we will keep tracking the progress and update you on how these flyovers shape up.
02:32If you have faced issues on these roads, share your experiences with us.
02:36Together, let's hope for a safer, smoother journey ahead.
02:40And thank you for watching Lokhmut Times.
02:42Stay tuned with us.
