04:40Oh, oh, oh, oh
05:10Oh, oh
05:40Ladies and gentlemen, Drew McIntyre's mind games has cost Cody Rhodes the champion's advantage here tonight.
05:53If Cody Rhodes is disqualified, or if he's counted out, he won't lose the undisputed WWE Championship.
06:03That stipulation came to fruition last night, agreed to by our general manager Nick Aldis from Friday Night SmackDown.
06:15And the question is, will it fight Cody Rhodes?
06:22Well, Cody Rhodes needs to get his game head on rapidly.
06:25We saw the mental breakdown of Cody Rhodes last night on SmackDown, and as you mentioned, Michael Cole, if that happens tonight, a major problem occurs in the championship reign of Cody Rhodes, because the goal moves over to the challenger, Drew McIntyre.
06:45A lot on that man's mind.
06:47A lot on that man's mind.
08:17Drew wants validation tonight, and with it, the glory that was taken away from him during the COVID era.
08:25These two met at Wrestlepalooza back in September, in which Cody Rhodes retained the championship, after what some call a very controversial call by the official.
08:37Well, that would be an accurate call.
08:41Drew has had numerous opportunities at winning goals over the past couple of years, and they've all been ripped from it by a combination of outside interference, blatant cheating, and terrible referees calls.
08:56Well, tonight, that ends for good.
08:58There could be no excuses after this evening.
09:01Helgen, everybody, at ringside.
09:02I'm Michael Cole for Friday Night SmackDown.
09:04Of course, Wade Barron for Monday Night Raw.
09:06We kick things off in the Undisputed WWE Championship.
09:10No champion's advantage again for Cody Rhodes.
09:14Let's head up to our ring announcer, the legendary Lillian Garcia.
09:18The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
09:37Now, in this match, if the champion gets counted out or disqualified, he will lose the championship.
09:50Introducing first, the challenger from Air Scotland, weaning 285 pounds, Drew.
10:01Ladies and gentlemen, the real American dream, Drew McIntyre.
10:22And his opponent, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in a 222 pounds, he is the undisputed WWE Champion, the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes!
10:47Oh!
10:49Well, this American dream nonsense with Drew McIntyre actually started last night on Friday Night SmackDown.
10:55Again, trying to get into the head of Cody Rhodes.
10:58Of course, Cody's father, the late great Dusty Rhodes, known as the American dream.
11:02It's got nothing to do with Dusty Rhodes, the American dream.
11:06Drew is a real American dream, a no-name immigrant who moved to this country
11:11and climbed from the bottom rung of the ladder all the way to the top to become the champion of the world.
11:20The official in this matchup tonight, Dan Engler.
11:23A lot of pressure on his shoulders because of the stipulation that does not give Cody an advantage tonight.
11:29We're underway, and Cody Rhodes went quickly after Drew McIntyre.
11:33McIntyre's made this personal.
11:34He's made it emotional.
11:36He's got under Cody's skin, not only in reference to Cody's dad, but Cody's family last night as well.
11:41Well, Cody fights emotionally in this one.
11:43He ruins the risk of making some major errors,
11:46and major errors when you don't have the champion's advantage can cost you massively.
11:51He takes down McIntyre.
11:53Rhodes got put through a table just 24 hours ago on Friday Night SmackDown,
11:57and now Cody unloading on Drew McIntyre.
11:59It's interesting that Drew went the Dusty Rhodes route as well.
12:03Dusty in the news this week, the 40th anniversary of Dusty's very famous Hard Times interview,
12:09which really cemented Dusty as a global star.
12:12There's the big chop now by McIntyre to Cody, who fights back as well.
12:20Drew McIntyre was actually one of Dusty's famous kids
12:23in the developmental system in Florida Championship Wrestling.
12:26And a side note, Dusty Rhodes once told me that Cody Rhodes was actually a deadbeat son.
12:33And he'd rather have through McIntyre as a child of his own.
12:36You completely made that up.
12:38All right, fair enough.
12:38I did make that up.
12:39And Cody Rhodes now dumping McIntyre outside the ring.
12:43And the official will begin the count.
12:45Now McIntyre begging Cody to come out after him.
12:48And you know why he's doing that.
12:50Get yourself a quick count out in this one.
12:53McIntyre will win the gold, and it looks.
12:57And Cody thinking twice about this.
12:59And again, a lot going on in the champ's mind.
13:02Yeah, he has to be very cautious.
13:04And you can see right from the start of this one,
13:06there's an almost tense nature to Cody.
13:09I feel like Cody realizes he's backed himself into a corner in this match.
13:14And does that force the champion, perhaps, tonight, Wade, to overthink things in this match?
13:19Maybe get out of sync, not do the things naturally that he would normally do.
13:24Absolutely.
13:24Look at the scowl on the face of Cody Rhodes.
13:26He's already ranting and raving at the challenger.
13:29Comparatively, McIntyre looks rather comfortable at this point.
13:33He has the champ rattled.
13:35Well, he's in the driver's seat.
13:37He forced Cody's hand, got him to a great of a stipulation.
13:41And it was the right thing for McIntyre to do.
13:44Cody proved a couple of weeks ago he's more than happy to get himself intentionally disqualified against Drew.
13:53McIntyre telling the official if he touches you, you can disqualify him.
13:57Fair point, a collision there.
13:58Arguably, it could have been a disqualification,
14:01albeit with Drew McIntyre propelling Cody at the round.
