00:00Ukraine's troops are still holding out as Moscow's forces slowly enclose on Pokrovsk.

00:05Kiev has landed special forces to the embattled eastern city,

00:09where Russia has been mounting an intense assault.

00:12President Volodymyr Zelensky says the situation there remains difficult.

00:17We continue to destroy the occupiers,

00:20and the most important thing is to stop Russian attacks wherever possible.

00:25Russia wants to turn our entire country into what they are doing to Pokrovsk.

00:30What they are doing to Kupiansk, our other cities, our communities.

00:34We must stop them where they are and destroy them there.

00:39Pokrovsk in the eastern Donetsk region lies on a major supply route for the Ukrainian army.

00:44For two years, Moscow has been trying to capture this city,

00:47as it would pave the way for Moscow to control the entirety of the Donetsk region,

00:51a long-standing goal for Russia.

00:54Ukraine's military says at least 200 Russian military personnel have entered the city.

00:59They are sending mainly sabotage groups in small groups of three or four.

01:03The biggest problem is that almost all of them are sent non-stop, in an endless wave.
