00:00Obviously a historic World Cup final and how do you see the game panning and how do you see this moment for Indian cricket on a global scale? How do you see the game as such?
00:12Well, it's a proud moment for all of us and at the same time we have been talking about that, you know, whenever we have enjoyed and given our 100% we always, you know, get positive results and our mindset is same.
00:27That we have to, you know, be there and be enjoying ourselves no matter whatever is the situation.
00:32Haman, all the best first. First Odeo World Cup as captain playing at home World Cup final. Apku, looking back at his journey to be here right now taking India to the World Cup final, what does it feel like for you?
00:48Yeah, as I mentioned, it's a proud moment for me and entire team and I am sure entire country must be also very proud the way, you know, we have played the last few games and yeah, it's a big day, big game and at the same time, you know, we just want to be very focused and be in the moment. I think that is the game.
01:07Harman, first of all, many congratulations for the entire fabulous journey and all the best for the final.
01:14But some of the new games are going on in the finals. This is the final game. The first time you did not know anything about it, but for motivation, because you will have all the strategies, you will be doing – the other – the most of all the skills,
01:24What have you always felt for the motivation in the final game?
01:27Well, I think when you are on this stage, you are playing the World Cup final match.
01:35I don't think there is a lot of motivation.
01:38The whole team is fully charged up.
01:40They are standing with each other.
01:42They are giving many prayers and blessings to each other.
01:45I think that shows how much this team is with each other
01:49and how much we are ready for this match.
01:51It's only about giving your best strategy and everything.
01:54We have been doing this from the last two years.
01:59Knowing that we are going to be in the World Cup,
02:02what conditions are going to be.
02:04We have prepared everything before us.
02:06Now it's only about giving your 100% and being there for the team.
02:10All the best.
02:11Yes.
02:17Harman, you have won two times in the final match.
02:20You have been lucky in the first two teams.
02:23How much hope you are in your home and your fans.
02:26We have become world champion for the first time.
02:29Yes, I mean, what we feel after the last two teams,
02:32we know that we are well aware.
02:34But after winning, what we feel after winning,
02:36that is something which we are really looking forward for.
02:38Hopefully, this is the day of our special day.
02:42We will play our best cricket.
02:45We will play our best cricket.
02:46We have done a lot of hard work.
02:47It's only about getting everything tomorrow for the team.
02:52Harman, there are very high scoring matches on this ground.
02:55So, with the team combination,
02:57is there a zero down or will we reveal the match?
03:02We reveal the match?
03:03I don't think I am even allowed to say it.
03:06But yeah, I mean,
03:07who got opportunities,
03:08who got their best,
03:09who got their best.
03:10So, that is the biggest thing for us.
03:11Because,
03:12who got opportunities,
03:14they are coming up with their best performances.
03:16So, I think,
03:17what can be the biggest thing for us?
03:18What can be the biggest thing for us?
03:19At the back.
03:24Harman, how good is it for the game that,
03:27you know,
03:28India and South Africa are being final?
03:29Australia and England have not been in a final for the first time.
03:34So, in terms of the landscape of the game,
03:36how do we feel about it?
03:37And, I was wondering,
03:38that you and the rest of the players,
03:40you have to face the pressure of tickets.
03:42Which is unusual.
03:43Demand for tickets.
03:44Well, first of all,
03:46it is good that there are two different teams.
03:49Because,
03:50we have seen many years,
03:51Australia is dominating in World Cricket.
03:53And,
03:54England is also on that stage.
03:56And,
03:57it is good that there are two different teams.
03:59That is why there are more excitement.
04:01And,
04:02our final,
04:03it is also very special for,
04:04not only for us,
04:05but for Indian fans also.
04:06Because,
04:07they have been the biggest sport for us.
04:08And,
04:09some of the tickets,
04:10you know.
04:11But,
04:12yeah,
04:13I mean,
04:14there are a lot of times,
04:15the rest of the other things,
04:16the other things,
04:17the pressure is,
04:18I think,
04:19it is good that,
04:20not only cricket,
04:21but,
04:22the pressure is also on tickets.
04:29Hi, Harman.
04:30In 2017,
04:31we had seen,
04:32when you reached the final,
04:34how much the impact had been on Indian cricket,
04:36and world cricket.
04:38This time,
04:39it is a home world cup.
04:40You guys are also in the final.
04:41Hopefully,
04:42from all countries,
04:43the rest of the country,
04:44what you think will be the impact of your country?
04:45What will you think,
04:46how much impact will have you this year,
04:47eight years,
04:48in this country,
04:49and the women's cricket,
04:50and general?
04:51Yeah,
04:52last time,
04:53when we were in the final,
04:54we were in India,
04:55we were in India,
04:56we had very big change,
04:58we were in the way.
04:59We were in the middle,
05:00we were in the middle,
05:01we were in the middle,
05:02and we were in the middle,
05:04We are looking forward to that moment that women's cricket will get more serious and more viewership.
05:24All the best.
05:26Hi, Harman. All the best for the final.
05:35Harman, you talked about the changes on the field, off the field.
05:41But it was a tough defeat for the whole team.
05:45The mindset and approach changed towards on-the-field performance, taking high-pressure games and all of that.
05:54How important this year will be for you today when you will come to the field?
06:01Yes, after that, if you can see, there are many ups and downs for the team.
06:06The team has prepared us for the last two years.
06:11We try to put ourselves in every condition.
06:13If there is such a situation, then we can do what we can do.
06:16So, I think we have tried to do everything on our side.
06:18Now, it's only about coming everything together and helping this team to pass that line.
06:23Hi, Harman. All the best for tomorrow.
06:28These were all teams that India lost to in the group state.
06:33So, there were a lot of learnings for the team as well.
06:35And team bhi dikha chuka hai ki they are not averse to learning, ki mistakes hot hai hai.
06:39But we will sort of figure it out and course correct along the way.
06:42Just us process ki baare mein aap batayenge when things were going wrong.
06:45Aapka ek leadership, how did it sort of band together and get the team across the line to come to a final?
06:50Yeah, I think team mhe hum lho g ek baar bhi shake up nhi hoi.
06:55Because even though we lost big, you know, three losses.
06:59Uske baad bhi sab bhoat ek saath thai.
07:02And sab eki baat kar rahe thai ki we still have great opportunity to, you know, reach to the final.
07:07So, I think woh ek positive mindset tha.
07:09Toh joh humay itna help kara hai ki hum aaj is final me pahunch sake.
07:13Toh I think jab aapki team mhe itna sara positive mindset aata hai.
07:17And sab ko andr se chahat rathi hai ki humay kheel na hai, humay you know, desh ke liye aaccha karna hai, world cup jitna hai.
07:24Toh I think woh cheeza ham lho g we were definitely talking about ki humay kya aur improve karna.
07:29But at the same time, sab siraf ek hi goal ke liye dhek rhe thai ki,
07:33Ye langa, yeh bhoat lamba process hai.
07:36Iske bich mein you know ups and down hoon hoonne wale hai.
07:39Koi team jitegi, koi team haare ki.
07:41But end of the day matter kiya karthai ki hum last tuk kaisa pahunchta hai.
07:45Toh woh ek jarni thi joh hum baar baar baat kar rhe thai ki,
07:48Thik hai, ishaar ke baad abhi aage kya karna hai.
07:50Aage kaise aapne abko aur improve karna hai.
07:52Or uske saath saath hum logo ko ek saath reha na hai.
07:55Or ek saath, you know, ek dusre ko help karte reha na.
07:57Toh I think that really shows ki team me kitne positive characters hain.
08:00Or sabne ek dusre ko help kara.
08:02One of those three defeats was against South Africa who you are playing tomorrow.
08:06What are the lessons learnt from that close defeat and how do you look at South Africa,
08:12the opposition when you take them tomorrow?
08:14Because they are also on a high and on a winning run.
08:17Dekhiyev, no doubt, unho ne baut achha cricket khila hai.
08:20Even though unka start itna achha nhi waata.
08:22Uske baad bhi, you know, the way they came back to this tournament,
08:25I think that's outstanding to watch.
08:28I think kaafi balance side hai.
08:31We know that, you know, they have good, good balling attack.
08:33And at the same time batting bhi kaafi depth hai.
08:36But humari team me bhi, you know, baasare positives hai.
08:40I think kal ka match kaafi interesting rehenne wala hai.
08:43And hum log mentally and physically apne apko us level tak pehle seh prepare karte hain aare hai.
08:48And hopefully we'll enjoy ourself tomorrow.
08:51Captain, given the short turn around between the matches, sorry.
08:55Given the short turn around between the matches and the emotional upheaval of beating no less than Australia in the semi-final.
09:01I mean, it was as good as a World Cup victory in some sense.
09:04How much has the team been able to recover, rest, re-train their focus on the final,
09:10at the same time have some knocking around as well because I believe yesterday there was not much of uptraining.
09:14How have you pulled the squad together in terms of keeping the focus only on winning tomorrow that is?
09:21Well, semi-final bohati as you all know ke baat high pressure game tha ar kaafi intense game tha.
09:29And then recovery was something which was, you know, we all paid more attention.
09:34Because final ke liye jitna fresh rehenge or jitna hum log, you know, mentally fresh feel kareenge that is more important.
09:40Because hard work itne salo se karte hain aare hai hai.
09:42We have been batting, you know, day and night.
09:44Uh, job bhi humare baaters camp rathay thai hain phir team ke camp rathay thai.
09:47Toh skill wise we know ki we have done a lot.
09:50And, uh, now it's only about keeping ourself fresh for tomorrow.
09:53And, uh, recovery is something, you know, which we all talk about.
09:56And, uh, everybody is sally taken that thing very seriously.
09:59And, uh, hopefully, you know, tomorrow we'll feel even more fresher for the main game.
10:03Uh, chapter, my pitch ke vare me kushna chahata ho ki, uh, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah.
10:06Aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah, aah
10:36We will see how the conditions are tomorrow and then we will take the call.
10:43Harman, all the best for tomorrow.
10:45Since you are playing the finals at a home ground, I want to ask you how will the energy
10:50and enthusiasm from the audience, how much will it help you and also is it a challenge
10:56to keep overwhelming emotions in check, it's home ground, there will be a huge crowd as
11:02we saw in the semi-finals, could it be overwhelming to keep emotions in check for you and the
11:07whole team?
11:08Yeah, first of all, I think the crowd has been amazing, especially in Mumbai, you know,
11:15we always have a full house and I think we are getting a lot of motivation and support
11:21from them, no matter whatever situation, they are always coming and supporting us.
11:25So, the home world cup is always up and down emotionally because it's tough but at the
11:35same time, we have been talking about tomorrow's match is more important because keeping yourself
11:40balanced and focus is something which is the key and we are having those sessions where
11:46we have been talking about how we can be more focused and more balanced and at the same time,
11:51you know, keeping ourselves relaxed because this is the biggest stage and biggest opportunity
11:56for us, you know, playing in home condition and that also final match but I think the most
12:01important thing is that we have to enjoy this because this is the biggest thing that we can
12:06do in our life as a cricketer or as a captain, so our focus is that we should enjoy this moment
12:12and, you know, keep taking the small, small total or targets that we can achieve as a team.
12:18Rather than thinking bigger target because bigger target, you are going to achieve that if
12:24you are going to achieve that. If you have a small target, you have a small focus and keep
12:28it in mind and keep it in your mind.
12:31Hi Harman, so I just want to take you back to the semi-final against Australia. I think we have
12:41barely seen you get too emotional on the field but I think that day after the win, we saw you in
12:47tears and obviously how you got emotional in the dugout. So how emotionally charged has this entire
12:53campaign been for you specifically and was it was that because it was Australia?
13:00I think I am a very emotional person and I cry a lot. So it is not like that we have only
13:08after winning and after winning and after winning and after winning. So maybe tomorrow you have seen,
13:14I mean yesterday you have seen me on television but I think dressing room, my teammates have seen me
13:19a lot of times in a small, small occasion, you know, whenever we have done it. So I am the
13:24first person to cry because I think as a player, these moments are very important. And to beat
13:30Australia's team, which is a very big team in our own, and they always have done it on the
13:35world stage. And to keep performing mentally strong by performing is something, it is not an easy
13:40thing. But I think hitting that huddle was something very special to all of us. And I think I always
13:47tell my team that, you know, you don't need to control your emotions. If you feel like crying, cry,
13:53because I think you don't need to, you know, stop. And at the same time, just keep enjoying. I think
13:58this is a bad achievement or this is a bad news for us. And tomorrow is a special day and we will go
14:03with the same mindset. All the best.
14:06I think that's a good thing.
14:09Hi, Herman. This is Mo from Bangladesh. Is there any particular celebration or special
14:13anything, occasion you have planned for the after winning the match, winning the trophy? And
14:19any message for the women or the girls who are playing cricket in Asia?
14:23Yeah, I think, uh, I think, uh, buddy occasions ke liye, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
14:40uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh
15:11Thanks, Lord.
