00:10Brighton is a wonderful city.

00:12Lively, diverse, a haven for misfits.

00:15It's a place where everyone's welcome.

00:17The support of Brighton Avenue is Sussex.

00:19That united the band base.

00:21We support our local club.

00:23It was 1997.

00:25The owner was destroying the club.

00:27We want him out.

00:28How could you sell a football ground?

00:31With nowhere to go.

00:32It's ridiculous.

00:33We were bottom of the third league.

00:35We had no home, no money.

00:37I was mending damaged shirts.

00:39I didn't intend to become chairman.

00:41But we had to save it.

00:43After two years going to Gillingham, the only place possible was with the stadium.

00:49A crumbling athletics track.

00:51But I knew we just had to do it.

00:53Getting dressed, you know, like, hailing outside, you know.

00:56We're going to go and sit in that for an hour and a half, yeah.

00:58We've come a long, long way together.

01:02We had this vision.

01:03We had people in authority say, why do we need a football stadium?

01:06Through the hard times and the good.

01:10The way the community rallied was incredible.

01:13So many letters written, marches.

01:15Thousands have turned out for the protest.

01:20There was this neat strength amongst us.

01:22I want to praise you like a shoe.

01:26We cheerfully refused to give up.

01:31It felt like the club was reborn.

01:33And I phoned Mr. Bellotti and I just said to him, this doesn't end here.

01:39We just keep going and see where it gets us.

01:41Europe's edges ever closer.

01:44We had a big dream in the Europe League.

01:47And the amazing thing is we can get so much better.

01:51And what you can hear in the background is 30,000 seagulls planning a European tour.
