00:46wearing the crown. President Lee Ji Myung then awarded him the Grand Order of Mugunghwa for his
00:52global leadership and efforts to ease regional tensions, making Trump the first U.S. President
00:58to receive South Korea's highest honor. After the ceremony, Trump and Lee held a summit focused on
01:03military and economic cooperation. Lee expressed interest in obtaining fuel for nuclear-powered
01:09submarines, saying it would enable South Korea to build longer-range vessels domestically and lessen
01:14the burden on U.S. forces in the region. The Republic of Korea will boost defense spending and develop
01:20the defense industry to significantly enhance its self-defense capabilities, Lee stated.
01:24We will make sure to increase our defense expenditures to help reduce the U.S. defense burden.
01:30During their summit, President Trump and President Lee discussed greater defense cooperation and
01:34economic ties. Lee backed Trump's push for allies to bolster self-defense and pledged support
01:40for revitalizing U.S. manufacturing, particularly in shipbuilding. He also praised Trump's past outreach
01:46to Kim Jong-un, saying it helped bring warmth and peace to the region.
