00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the horror villains whose deaths went a
00:09little overboard and some who should have gotten worse.
00:185.
00:19Overkill – Ludd Domas family, ready or not.
00:29After landing on the wrong side of her in-law's family curse, Grace spends her wedding night
00:33fighting for her life.
00:34Despite her efforts, the Ludd Domas clan manages to subdue her.
00:38However, they fumble the sacrifice by dragging it past the sunrise, and so we watch as every
00:49member of the family meets their doom.
00:51After everything they put the heroine through, it's incredibly satisfying to see the villains
00:55get their just desserts.
00:57But if the sight of red creeps you out, this scene might be hard to stomach.
01:01One by one, every character, young and old, burst out of the movie, ending the film with
01:06an absolute massacre.
01:135.
01:16Not Enough – The Fisherman – I Know What You Did Last Summer
01:29Anybody who's seen this teen slasher knows just how much carnage Bill Willis leaves in
01:34his wake.
01:35Considering the number of bodies that pile up, you'd imagine the villain gets an equally
01:38brutal downfall.
01:39But not only is it a surprisingly tame defeat, we don't even see him bite it.
01:43In the final showdown, Ray uses the boat's rigging to dump Willis overboard, sending him splashing
01:54into the water.
01:55And that's it.
01:56Apart from an unintentionally hilarious Willem scream, the bad guy gets no real moment of
02:00reckoning.
02:01For a murderer with such a significant kill count, this send off was disappointingly merciful.
02:124.
02:13Overkill – Christian Hughes
02:15Yes, we can all agree, this guy totally sucks.
02:30That said, does it really warrant him being set on fire?
02:33Christian spends the entire film belittling, ignoring and gaslighting Danny.
02:49Unfortunately for him, she snaps at the worst possible time.
02:53Given the choice between her emotionally manipulative boyfriend and a willing cult member, she chooses
02:58the former.
02:59Unable to move and stuffed into a bear carcass, Christian spends his last moment in fiery agony.
03:03We will show you to the deep darkness, where you can begrudge the pain.
03:13Although his fate is narratively symbolic, it doesn't exactly justify an execution.
03:17But judging by the chilling smile on her face, Danny seems to have no regrets.
03:21Honestly though, a simple breakup might have been a healthier option.
03:24Number 4 – Not Enough – Mark Hoffman – Saw 3D
03:27You want to know the only thing wrong with killing you, Jill?
03:30I can only do it once.
03:33Unlike previous installments that combine horror with social commentary, Saw 3D is all
03:38about the gore.
03:39On a roaring rampage of revenge, Jigsaw's failed successor Mark Hoffman targets his former
03:43mentor's ex-wife, Jill.
03:44Give me Jill, Tuck.
03:45You're protecting her despite the fact that she has direct knowledge throughout, which makes
03:50her complicit in every death.
03:52Along the way, he eradicates the entire police force before claiming Jill's life.
03:59However, his plans to flee are quickly derailed.
04:02Ambushed by Dr. Gordon, Jigsaw's secret accomplice, Hoffman is left chained up in the iconic bathroom
04:08trap.
04:09While it works as a way to bookend the series, it feels too low-key after all of Hoffman's
04:13ruthless murders.
04:14The clichΓ© sealed in a room ending doesn't land all that well, not when some much-needed
04:19poetic justice would have been far more satisfying.
04:22After four decades and a franchise spanning multiple films and a TV series, it's clear
04:42that nothing can keep this killer doll down for good.
04:44But it's not like putting him away in the original was a walk in the park either.
04:48No matter how many times he dies, Chucky just gets back up.
04:52Not even after he's roasted in the fireplace.
05:01Despite being burned to a crisp, the antagonist stalks Andy and his mom until the latter shoots
05:05him into pieces.
05:06But is that it?
05:07Nope.
05:08The doll rises once again like it's business as usual, even without his limbs.
05:12By the time a shot through the heart finally claims him, the shock value has long since
05:16expired on this needlessly drawn-out climax.
05:19You believe me now?
05:21Yeah.
05:22But who's gonna believe me?
05:263.
05:27Not Enough
05:28The Mist
05:29Even with horrifying creatures tearing people apart, Miss Carmody ends up as the film's
05:34scariest character.
05:35I have a friend, God up above.
05:39I talk to him every day.
05:41Don't you condescend to me?
05:43I'm sorry?
05:44Not ever.
05:45You don't mock me.
05:47Armed with a fanatical mind and powers of persuasion, she quickly turns the group of survivors into
05:52a bloodthirsty cult, even sacrificing some of them to appease the monsters.
05:56It's from them, the blood of human sacrifice must come, from them, the blood of expiation.
06:06As expected, something has to give.
06:08And the villain is shut down for good when tensions reach their peak.
06:11But her simple demise is oddly underwhelming.
06:14Two quick gunshots and Miss Carmody's done, a death that barely even registers.
06:19Sure, the threat she posed is gone, but the execution is so blink and miss that it robs
06:24audiences of their moment of catharsis.
06:26Jason X pushes the franchise to its wackiest extreme, launching the machete-welding killer
06:49all the way to space, in the future.
06:52If you thought he didn't stay dead before, try killing him when he's enhanced by futuristic
06:56nanotechnology.
07:03So, whether he's frozen in stasis, blown apart by an android, or incinerated in Earth's
07:09atmosphere, it comes across as more absurd than terrifying.
07:12The filmmakers clearly wanted to raise the stakes with one over-the-top death after another.
07:16But when a villain racks up so many demises in the same movie, it's hard not to roll
07:20our eyes.
07:21At some point, even the most die-hard horror fans have to say, enough is enough.
07:262.
07:27Not Enough.
07:28The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
07:33When it comes to pure brutality, few franchises can compete with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
07:40The second entry injects the series with a satirical flavor, playing most of the Leatherface's
07:55family's kills for laughs.
07:57By the end, Leatherface's brother Chop Top and protagonist Stretch are the last one standing.
08:04But rather than living up to the series' billing, Chop Top's defeat qualifies more as a Disney
08:18villain death.
08:19Chasing Stretch up a tower, the bad guy is knocked off and tumbles down a pipe.
08:23Compared to the twisted kills that came before, the film draws the line on Chop Top of all
08:28people.
08:29For some reason.
08:30After all the terrible things he'd done, he deserved an end far worse than the cartoonish
08:33fall he got.
08:341.
08:45Overkill.
08:46A Nightmare on Elm Street 4
08:49You shouldn't have buried me.
08:50I'm not dead.
08:51Elm Street films always get creative every time Freddy Krueger faces defeat.
08:56But this one goes way off the rails.
09:00Faced with its own reflections, the antagonist's countless victims revolt from within.
09:04And right before our eyes, Krueger's body starts falling apart, tearing him piece by
09:09piece.
09:102.
09:11Evil will see itself.
09:122.
09:13And it shall die!
09:142.
09:15Kudos to the makeup team.
09:17But the sheer revulsion from the scene is only reserved for the most hardcore fans of
09:21gore.
09:22While it gives the villain a taste of his own medicine, the freaky visuals drag on much longer
09:26than necessary.
09:27Especially since Freddy was back at it again in the sequel.
09:30All things considered, one word perfectly sums up this death.
09:34Ew.
09:35Rest in hell.

09:54Not Enough.
09:56Carter Burke, Aliens
09:58No one likes a corporate sleaze and Carter Burke is arguably the poster boy for selfish
10:11ambition.
10:12Initially presenting himself as a friendly and empathetic figure, Burke reveals his true colors
10:16by selling Ripley out for profit.
10:18Watching him stranded with a xenomorph seems like the perfect setup for a satisfying comeuppance,
10:23only for the film to cut away just as he screams.
10:25His doom is clear but deliberately ambiguous, leaving us to make up our own minds.
10:45With so much death and destruction already on screen, it's baffling why the film couldn't
10:49dedicate just a minute to Burke's downfall.
10:52Of course, fans did catch it in a deleted scene years later, but by then, it was too little,
10:57too late.
10:58I made a decision and it was wrong, it was a bad call Ripley, it was a bad call.
11:04Bad call?
11:05Right.
11:06These people are dead Burke!
11:07Don't you have any idea what you've done here?
