00:00Women are the backbone of the workforce, yet their stories of resilience, trauma and triumph
00:19often go untold.
00:21Every woman has a story, a moment where she felt unseen, unheard, undervalued, but together
00:28we are more.
00:31We decided to do this project celebrating women who educate and inspire generations.
00:37Together we are working on building a community of sisterhood.
00:41Because when you're an entrepreneur and you're in an industry where you don't have a 9-to-5,
00:46not a stable paycheck, you gotta make sure you don't compromise your values.
00:50Once we have established that it is a safe space, I then start teaching individuals how
00:55to express what they are feeling.
00:57Workplaces are often the stage for personal transformation, sometimes through painful
01:04experiences.
01:05This is the story of women who turn their struggles into strength.
01:11Success is always on the other side of an uncomfortable situation, conversation or moment.
01:15So I don't ever want to mistreat nobody, no woman, no man, no nothing.
01:20I'm all about how you doing.
01:23You see prominent black women in roles and so there are some who hold the belief that,
01:30oh, black women have arrived.
01:33I had a small circle of people that I felt comfortable confiding in.
01:39I stepped into an environment where I had people that I was supposed to oversee and they just
01:44automatically just didn't like me.
01:46I think as black women we extend a lot of grace to a lot of people.
01:50And we don't often extend it to ourselves to feel the full range of emotions, to be soft,
01:55to just be gentle with ourselves.
