00:00An AI video is circulated showing Western leaders making shock revelations.
00:09Social media users are sharing a video that seemingly shows European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen,
00:15France's former President Nicolas Sarkozy and other Western leaders admitting to damning allegations that dogged their time in power.
00:23The video is often shared with identical captions asking,
00:26do you ever wish Western leaders would be a bit more honest, suggesting a disinformation campaign?
00:32Let's take a listen.
00:33Did I help bomb Libya and kill Kadhafi to bury proof that it bankrolled my presidential campaign?
00:40Did I promote Covid jabs because I set up a 35 billion euro cash injection through a secret deal with Pfizer?
00:48Although the voices sound fairly accurate, in reality the video has been AI generated,
00:53which we can tell by the leader's uncanny features and their stilted speech.
00:57It was produced by Russian state-controlled news network Russia Today,
01:01as shown by the outlet's logo in the top right corner of the video,
01:05and the outro, which celebrates its 20th anniversary.
01:08And RT does provide a disclaimer at the end of the video, explaining that it's AI-generated parody content.
01:15Nonetheless, RT was banned in the EU, the UK and other countries after Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022,
01:24in an effort to combat disinformation.
01:26The topics that the AI-generated leaders discuss in the video are controversial issues from their time in office.
01:32For example, the image of Sarkozy questions the unsubstantiated claim he helped to bomb Libya and kill Muammar Gaddafi
01:39to bury proof that he funded his election campaign.
01:42The former French president was imprisoned last week for criminal conspiracy linked to a scheme to obtain Libyan financing during his 2007 campaign.
01:51He's appealing against his conviction.
01:53The U.S. team is very sensitive, comical pergunta.
01:54The U.S. team based responsible in the UK,
01:54and has always shown us about the acceleration for occasional payments.
