Transcript
00:00We were never broken. We are an indigenous people, indigenous to the Caribbean. The Caribbean
00:16loved the Aroch women. Many Africans also escaped slavery from Barbados. The product
00:24of that intermingling became Garifuna. We have been able to retain our language, our culture,
00:31our tradition, our traditional healing, our spirituality.
00:38It is during the long journey that we rearrange our burden now. We want to make much of our
00:50Garifuna children. We want them to learn their language. We want them to love one another
00:55as Garinago. So that is our burden now.
