You won't believe some of the numbers these WWE stars put up in the gym.
Transcript
00:00Everybody wants to be strong. I don't know why. It must be hardwired into our DNA.
00:05Some fans still don't accept that overall mass doesn't equal overall strength either.
00:09I mean, go and watch the Olympic weightlifting that is on right now.
00:13You get some pretty small dudes walk out there and they lift up a crazy amount of weight
00:18because again, it's all about training.
00:20It's also going to be a huge plus in wrestling because you do have to pick up some monsters
00:23and every now and then an individual does walk into this industry
00:26and they were just born with crazy power.
00:30So I am Simon Miller. Let's go through some of these right now.
00:33Number 10, Bianca Belair.
00:34Bianca Belair is a super athlete and WWE was well aware of that when she was having that feud with Bayley.
00:39They were like, let's have Bianca do an obstacle course
00:42and she picked up Otis like he was nothing and just ran around the ring.
00:47It's like, he's a really large man and Bianca Belair is carrying him like he's a child.
00:52When you do get into our stats too, it's not surprising because look at this.
00:55She can bench 195 pounds, squat 320 pounds, deadlifts over 400 pounds.
01:01These are mad numbers, especially because Bianca Belair herself only weighs 165 pounds.
01:06Now I shouldn't say that because Bianca Belair herself has got a record and says,
01:09man, what does it matter what I weigh?
01:11And she's totally correct.
01:12But also when you do throw it all into a big package, it just makes you go,
01:16oh my gosh, you're some kind of superhero.
01:20That's also one of the reasons she's one of the best babyfaces on Raw and SmackDown.
01:23We don't talk about it enough.
01:25Number nine, John Cena.
01:26So John Cena could absolutely be higher in this list.
01:29So many wrestlers have come out and gone, yeah, John Cena threw me around like I was a dog.
01:33The evidence is all there too, because we have seen him pick up Brock Lesnar,
01:36Mark Henry or a big show like they were absolutely nothing.
01:40And he doesn't even break a sweat.
01:41There's an amazing interview with Paul White where he seems genuinely perturbed by this.
01:46He didn't even jump.
01:47His official bench press too is 480 pounds.
01:50But what I wanted to do today is find the video of him squatting.
01:54Your jaw will hit the floor.
01:56John Cena cannot be human.
01:57Now lots of silly comments are going to be said about this,
01:59but sometimes people just have power in their veins.
02:03Of course, I'm not saying that nobody here works their ass off.
02:06They all do.
02:07But this is some natural strength.
02:09And again, go and look at John, pick up the weights.
02:12He too was born to do it.
02:13Number eight, Braun Strowman.
02:14I mean, you can't just walk into a strongman competition and say,
02:17hey, I'm a large guy.
02:18Can I compete?
02:19You need to have some proof.
02:21And before Braun was a wrestler, that's exactly what he was doing.
02:24I mean, he won the Amateur Arnold Championship in 2012 and picked up a load of other medals too, Boots,
02:29which is how Mark Henry found out about him.
02:31He was all like, oh, hi.
02:32You should be a wrestler.
02:33But even when he's been coming back from injury, Strowman has posted videos of him benching around 450 pounds for eight reps.
02:41And even if you've never been to the gym, believe you me, that is totally nuts.
02:45If nothing else, once again, just go type all this into YouTube and watch the man lift.
02:49And your eyes will deceive your brain because you will think you're staring at a cartoon.
02:53It's the fact that he makes it so easy as well.
02:55Like he'll pick up some weight and just throw him around.
02:58And then you Google how much that is.
03:00Well, you just want to go laid down because it's really not fair.
03:03Number seven, Ken Patera.
03:04So this one is legendary.
03:06Everybody literally talked about it all the time.
03:08Because simply put, Ken Patera was a beast.
03:10I mean, he was the first ever guy to hit 500 pounds on the clean and jerk.
03:14And in the first ever World's Strongest Man contest, he finished third.
03:18Before they'd also won gold at the 1971 Pan American Games, this dude was just like muscle.
03:24Now, all of his records have been broken since, but he was just made of raw strength.
03:29And it really helped him in the 70s and 80s when he was wrestling too.
03:32Because everybody there was absolutely massive.
03:35This is another person.
03:36He just picked everyone up like they weighed nine.
03:39Numerous people have also said that given all of this, if he could have just found his promo voice,
03:43he would have been a champion everywhere that he did go.
03:46But ultimately, it doesn't matter.
03:48Because here we are in 2024, we are still talking about it.
03:51Number six, Ryback.
03:52Ryback is a controversial figure.
03:54Although I level with you, I'm still not over the fact that one day,
03:57somebody replied to a tweet of mine and copied Ryback in.
04:00They said, Ryback, this is about you.
04:01And Ryback blocked me.
04:03It wasn't about Ryback at all.
04:05Sucks to be me.
04:06As you can tell from his physique, this guy went to the gym.
04:09But he's already touched upon the fact that just because you do have big muscles,
04:12doesn't always equate to strength.
04:14Look, when it came to the back of the rye, he definitely had both.
04:17He was a powerhouse.
04:18As he benched 500 pounds regularly and other individuals have said they even seen him doing 580 pounds.
04:25That's like something an alien would do.
04:26All of his other lifts absolutely rule as well because they do crazy numbers.
04:30People have talked about how much Ryback used to eat.
04:33There's even rumors out there that people in management would watch him.
04:37And he would be secretly snacking and they'd be like,
04:39Damn it, Ryback, we gave you a nutrition program, you've got to stick to it.
04:42Brian Danielson, other than Daniel Bryan, used to find this hilarious.
04:46And every time he would see Ryback doing it, or he had some food,
04:49he would just burst out laughing.
04:51Which is why when you do see them together in interviews,
04:54it does almost feel like Brian is bullying the man.
04:57It's still pretty damn funny.
04:58Number five, the big shot.
04:59I mean, obviously, just look at him.
05:02Rather than going to numbers this time, though,
05:03let's actually focus on a specific feud.
05:05When won Paul White, the big show, the giant, was feuding with Rey Mysterio.
05:09Now, I get that Rey isn't the largest of men,
05:11but after he had been wrecked and put on a stretcher,
05:14the big show picked up the damn stretcher
05:17and baseball batted it into Rita the Ring Post.
05:20Now, I'm sorry, Rey Mysterio is still a human being
05:23and the big show picked it up.
05:25He was picking up some feathers.
05:27I'm still not over it.
05:28If you do want some stats too,
05:29the show has always said that he's pretty sure he can bench way over 500 pounds.
05:33Look, this was a man that was just born to be a giant.
05:37Hence why when WCW saw him, they just went and called him the giant.
05:41Number four, Big E.
05:42Now, this one, we are doing the numbers because it's damn amazing.
05:45Squat, 711 pounds.
05:48Bench, 529 pounds.
05:50Deadlift, 799 pounds.
05:52Good grief.
05:53Big E also achieved those lifts when he was training to become a WWE wrestler.
05:57So it's not like he was solely focused on lifting at the time.
06:00He was doing everything.
06:02That just makes me love him even more.
06:04And I think people realized this when he did arrive in FCW.
06:07Hence why we gave him the name Big E.
06:10I mean, unless you're trying to be facetious here,
06:12you can't put that on somebody's head unless they can go and back it up.
06:15There's even more reports here because one day Big E went to John Cena's gym
06:18and apparently recorded a 575 pound bench press,
06:22which didn't make it into the record books
06:24because it wasn't a proper official competitive lift.
06:27Screw that.
06:27I mean, if somebody picked up a car, I wouldn't go,
06:29oh, well, I'm sorry.
06:30We didn't do it under the right conditions.
06:32I would just be like, please, can I be your friend?
06:34I don't want to be out of line here too,
06:36but I just think Big E is built differently
06:38because even when he was dropped in his head,
06:40which is taken away from the wrestling ring,
06:42I actually think it was all this strength and muscle that did protect him.
06:46That can only be a good thing.
06:47And of course, it really would be great if Big E one day
06:49could return to the squared circle.
06:50But as he has said in many an interview,
06:52he is now living a pain-free life
06:54and he can train how he wants to train.
06:57That's a good thing for our own brains.
06:59You can't just focus on one thing.
07:01You need to make sure your life is balanced.
07:03Number three, Brock Lesnar.
07:04Another guy where huge men have said he just treated me like a child.
07:08Once again, you need to go and hear the Big Show talk about this.
07:11He is like a legit seven feet tall
07:13and the look in his eyes when he speaks about Brock,
07:16I think he's a little bit terrified.
07:18The crazy thing with Lesnar though is that he is scarily quick too.
07:21And when he had that NFL tryout for the Minnesota Vikings all those years ago,
07:24he was clocked at benching 475 pounds.
07:28Paul Heyman has always said that he wasn't 100% during that trial either,
07:32which is ridiculous.
07:33And there's other reports that he once benched 655 pounds.
07:37And that is ridiculous.
07:38Really though, he just has country boy strength.
07:41That ain't me saying that.
07:42Brock has said that time and time again.
07:44I'm going to do it.
07:45He was born with it.
07:46You also know that he does have mad genetics.
07:47There is so much stuff going around social media at the moment of his daughter.
07:51And she's like a shot put champion,
07:54which again is just pick up the big heavy ball and see how far you can throw it.
07:58Even when he was in his 40s, Brock just picked up Braun Strowman like he was a little key cat or something.
08:04And I bet if he ever does return to WWE, he'll keep doing this.
08:08I mean, he'll probably never lose those natural gifts.
08:10Number two, Doug Furness.
08:12So that's an interesting name.
08:13Not a lot of people are talking about Doug Furness.
08:15Because he never won any major titles, he never got really a major push anywhere.
08:19But he was a guy that could walk in and say,
08:21I can squat 955 pounds.
08:24I mean, just think about that for a second.
08:26Think it means he could lift an elephant?
08:28I mean, that's not true, but I'm going with it.
08:29The rest of his workout was nuts too,
08:31because apparently he could do a 600 pound bench press.
08:33And his deadlift was 821 pounds.
08:36That is 372 kilograms, my UK friends.
08:40Imagine how dumb the bar must have looked.
08:42It means whoever you stacked him up against, he was going to be able to hold his own.
08:46Wrestlers still talk about this today.
08:47I mean, they would just go to the weight room and watch Doug and be totally confused by this.
08:52How the flub is he doing it?
08:53Number one, Mark Henry.
08:54I mean, it all comes down to his feats that really we do not talk about enough.
08:58I mean, you knew he was going to be number one because he was dubbed the world's strongest man.
09:02But let's go back to his teenage years.
09:04He was benching 525 pounds.
09:08I would actually die.
09:09He also qualified for the Olympics in 1992 when he was just 19 years old.
09:13And even after he had signed with the then WWF, he continually said,
09:17listen, I ain't doing no gimmicks, man.
09:19If you want me to do strong things, I will do it legitimately.
09:22That means he was pulling trucks, bending fryer pads and lifting cars just because he could do that.
09:28It's still a mystery.
09:29It ticked till 2010 when he was a world champion.
09:31It was a back injury which stopped him really competing at the Olympics.
09:34But even then, he could still squat 855 pounds.
09:38There's also footage on YouTube you can watch right now of him lifting the infamous Thomas Inch 172 pound dumbbell.
09:44And barely anyone in history has done that.
09:47The evidence is all you need to see.
09:49When he is able to do it, the whole room loses their mind.
09:53This guy was something else.
09:54Now, of course, there'll be a bunch of strong wrestlers we haven't talked about.
09:57So make sure you drop them in the comments for you like the video, share the video and subscribe.
10:00Also, click this video on the screen.
10:03I suppose it's going to be me talking about muscles.
10:05Thank you very much for stopping by as well, my friends.
10:07And I appreciate your time very, very much.
10:10I'll see you on the next one.
