00:00First of all, let me say what a great honor it is for me to be here today in this beautiful country of Malaysia, here in ASEAN, in company of the sports and youth minister.
00:25An honor to have been received yesterday as well by the Prime Minister and an honor as well to sign this new memorandum of understanding with ASEAN.
00:37It is between FIFA and the now 11 ASEAN countries, 11 which as you know is a magic number in sport.
00:45The football team is composed of 11 players so now the team is there, is ready, is there to win matches and we are looking very much forward at FIFA to continue our collaboration with ASEAN.
01:01Based on several principles, the first one of course is integrity, integrity in the game, the second one is safe and secure environment for games.
01:13And the third one is education, education throughout football, education in football development, girls, boys, women, men, football development in the whole region.
01:27A region which, as you know, is passionate about football. We have around 700 million football fans in the whole of ASEAN region.
01:36And with these pillars of our memorandum of understanding we want to do more and we want to build more.
01:43And as a matter of fact, what we are launching today together is a new competition, a new FIFA competition, the FIFA ASEAN Cup that we are putting in place with and for the region together with all 11 countries.
02:03And we launched this competition to give a real boost to football with the best players in the framework of the international match calendar of FIFA to make it really, really impactful in the region but also to shine in the entire world.
02:23Football unites the world. We are uniting the world together with all 11 ASEAN countries. We are uniting all the countries together.
02:31We create the FIFA ASEAN Cup and it will be a huge success in the region.
