Rajasthan SDM Chhotu Lal Sharma suspended yet again amid controversy

Rajasthan SDM Chhotu Lal Sharma, frequently embroiled in controversies, has been suspended again.

00:00The Rajasthan SDM who slapped a CNG pump employee faced major backlash online for allegedly using

00:15his family to shield himself. But SDM Chotulal Sharma is no stranger to controversy.

00:20The most recent one is from October 21 when an altercation broke out between Sharma and

00:30workers at a CNG pump on the Ajmer Bhilwada Highway. Sharma allegedly slapped a worker accusing him

00:37of attending to another customer who had arrived after him. Three pump employees were arrested by

00:41the police and Sharma was suspended. But this is not the first time SDM Chotulal has been issued a

00:46suspension on an awaiting posting orders. First APO. In 2017 Sharma was removed from his post after a

00:52public altercation with a then Panchayat Samhiti development officer. The same year he was again

00:57placed under APO by the personnel department over irregularities related to a mining operation.

01:02Third APO. In 2018 Sharma was accused of assaulting a peon at his residence after the peon allegedly

01:08fled with money meant to be delivered to Sharma's home. Chotu's first wife spoke to the press and

01:12claimed that he used to beat her and their children. Sharma's second wife who was with him during the

01:17October 21 incident alleged that the petrol pump staff had misbehaved with her. Authorities are

01:22looking for evidence supporting her claim. Users online demanded strict action against Sharma.

01:27Some even thanked the CCTV installed at the pump that captured the incident.
